Universe quotes by Alan Moore
#1. Live knowing that you are already dust, long gone, already outside time and looking in, reviewing life, finally understanding every déja vu, your own guardian angel. Know that the scorched-black demons and the pristine, fluttering seraphs are in some sense naught but you yourself unpacked, unfolded in a higher space from whence the myriad gods unfurl, not bygone legends but your once and future selves, your attributes blossomed into their purest and most potent symbol-forms. And these, with all their beast-heats, crowns and lightings, all their different colors, are become combined into the single whiteness that is godhead. That is all.

This, then, is revelation. All is one, and all is deity, this beautiful undying fire of being that is everywhere about us; that we are. O man, o woman, know yourself, and know you are divine. Respect yourself, respect the least phenomenon of your existence as it were the breath of God. Know that our universe is all one place, a single firelit room, all time a single moment. Know that there has only ever been one person here. Know you are everything, forever. Know I love you. #Quote by Alan Moore
Universe quotes by Earl Nightingale
#2. Strange and marvelous things will happen with constant regularity as you alter your life and begin living in harmony with the laws of the universe. #Quote by Earl Nightingale
Universe quotes by Kate Bolick
#3. Isn't that how falling in love so often works? Some stranger appears out of nowhere and becomes a fixed star in your universe. #Quote by Kate Bolick
Universe quotes by James Roberts
#4. I've rattled around long enough to have learned one thing: the universe is cold, and cruel, and violent - but only if you choose to look at it that way. For every act of aggression there are a thousand acts of kindness. For every hateful word, a million declarations of love. #Quote by James Roberts
Universe quotes by Jerry Spinelli
#5. But she loves her daughter, David can tell, loves her the way David's mother loved him, and sometimes David feels that same love he used to, except now it's coming from other places, other people, and it's a good thing the love is coming because he's beginning to think there aren't enough rules in the universe to bring his mother back. #Quote by Jerry Spinelli
Universe quotes by Ernest Cline
#6. Whenever I saw the sun, I reminded myself that I was looking at a star. One of over a hundred billion in our galaxy. A galaxy that was just one of billions of other galaxies in the observable universe. This helped me keep things in perspective. #Quote by Ernest Cline
Universe quotes by Brian D. McLaren
#7. Trying to stop people from learning, sharing, and loving is a losing game because it means working against God and the plotline of God's universe. #Quote by Brian D. McLaren
Universe quotes by Dylan Saccoccio
#8. Foreword To you, that you may awaken to understand that the whole universe is a dance of energy, and that energy is God, and that energy is you. You are something that the whole universe is doing, that God is doing, just as a wave is something that the whole ocean is doing. The real you, the energy, the soul, is not a puppet that life pushes around. The real you is the whole universe. The real you is God, destined to follow no one, destined to ignite the ether, experience life from an individual perspective, and take part in the creation. So this is for you, my fellow creators, my fellow gods, and my fellow selves, that coincidence may never disguise itself with the mask of fate and torment you, that every moment be meaningful, and that no experience be lost #Quote by Dylan Saccoccio
Universe quotes by Kay Whitley
#9. Dreams can exist but not come true
And if you don't believe me just ask yourself
How can the universe know what you want,
If it never hears it from you #Quote by Kay Whitley
Universe quotes by Erwin Raphael McManus
#10. Yet the integrity of the universe is the context in which creativity is best expressed. The canvas does not limit God's creativity but rather celebrates it. The elegant complexity of creation is a beautiful reminder that the creative mind is a disciplined mind, that the creative act is not a struggle to be free of limitations but a demonstration that when we embrace our limitations, creativity has no boundaries. #Quote by Erwin Raphael McManus
Universe quotes by Dominic Smith
#11. We're conduits for the universe's desire to think about itself. #Quote by Dominic Smith
Universe quotes by Neale Donald Walsch
#12. Yet I have said over and over again that there is no "right" or "wrong" in the universe. A thing is not intrinsically right or wrong. A thing simply is. #Quote by Neale Donald Walsch
Universe quotes by Jennifer L. Armentrout
#13. We could really use the Avengers right about now."
"Screw that. We need Loki," Daemon retorted.
General Eaton arched a brow. "Well, unfortunately, the Marvel Universe isn't real, so ... #Quote by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Universe quotes by Jaeda DeWalt
#14. It's tempting to tether ourselves to the familiar comfort of the way things are, but fulfillment is often discovered in the unpredictable and unknown. We can serve ourselves and our universe, best, when we can take the journey that takes us from the limited desire of our ego, to the ever-expanding love and wisdom, of our divine nature. #Quote by Jaeda DeWalt
Universe quotes by Pirkei Avot
#15. Compassion is the feeling of sympathy which the pain of one being awakens in another; and the higher and more human the beings are, the more keenly attuned they are to re-echo the note of suffering, which, like a voice from heaven, penetrates the heart, bringing all creatures a proof of their kinship in the universal God. And as for man, whose function it is to show respect and love for God's universe and all its creatures, his heart has been created so tender that it feels with the whole organic world ... mourning even for fading flowers; so that, if nothing else, the very nature of his heart must teach him that he is required above everything to fe the brother of all beings, and to recognize the claim of all beings to his love and his beneficence.
Horeb, Chapter 17, Verse 125 #Quote by Pirkei Avot
Universe quotes by Neil Gaiman
#16. All we really know of the universe is what filters in through our senses, and that isn't a whole lot. Take the electromagnetic spectrum. It includes virtually every ripple of energy that powers the cosmos, from the long, lazy radio waves we communicate with through microwaves that we cook with all the way up to X-rays and gamma rays, which pack enough punch into their wavelengths to outshine an entire galaxy. All that majesty, all that infinite variety of energy, and all we see is a narrow little slice of it: seven measly colors. It's like being invited to a royal banquet and then only being allowed to pick the crumbs off one plate. #Quote by Neil Gaiman
Universe quotes by Harlan Coben
#17. Genius is a curse. That's how I look at it. Some think that the brilliant comprehend the universe in a way the rest of us can't. They see the world how it truly is - and that reality is so horrible the lose their minds. Clarity leads to insanity. #Quote by Harlan Coben
Universe quotes by Lao-Tzu
#18. There was something undifferentiated and yet complete, which existed before Heaven and Earth. Soundless and formless, it depends on nothing and does not change. It operates everywhere and is free from danger. It may be considered the mother of the universe. I do not know its name; I call it Tao. #Quote by Lao-Tzu
Universe quotes by Lyna Jones
#19. Our ability to transcend betrayal is directly tied to our willingness to identify ourselves as love activists rather than victims of the Universe. #Quote by Lyna Jones
Universe quotes by Forrest Curran
#20. Whether between man and women, man and man, or woman and woman; look not towards any system that binds society created by man for guidance, but be guided by the principles of love. Love is the only law that commands this universe, and is the only language that is understood universally. #Quote by Forrest Curran
Universe quotes by Judd Apatow
#21. There's a great rabbinical motto that says you start each day with a note in each pocket. One note says, "The world was created for you today," and the other note says, "I'm a speck of dust in a meaningless universe," and you have to balance both things. #Quote by Judd Apatow
Universe quotes by R. Buckminster Fuller
#22. The universe is non-simultaneously apprehended #Quote by R. Buckminster Fuller
Universe quotes by Emery Lord
#23. A single yellow flag beats against the ocean wind, and the sky stretches for every mile of ocean, and then longer and farther. We're the only people as far as the eye can see, and all the world feels like a private show, screened on the endless black sky. The universe is unfurling its whole self to us, arms wide and beckoning. #Quote by Emery Lord
Universe quotes by Erin Fall Haskell
#24. Deep inside of you is a 'Guru' with the wisdom of the entire Universe! #Quote by Erin Fall Haskell
Universe quotes by J. Kenner
#25. ... the guy owns half the known universe. I hardly think he'd be all warm and fuzzy. More like dark and dangerous. #Quote by J. Kenner
Universe quotes by Wildbow
#26. ... the demons already won, a long, long time ago. They devoured the vast majority of the universe, and that's why the planets are so relatively small, compared to the sheer amount of nothingness. It's why we're so very tiny, in the grand scheme of it all.
But these things we erroneously call angels surged in strength, they spun out a complete universe from the scraps, and on select scraps, or on a select scrap, they prepared life to emerge."

Rose glanced out over the room.

"It would be easy to say that the universe is an unending repetition of creation and death. That this has happened before and it'll happen again, and this is the heartbeat of the universe. But in looking at the history of this world, both the clear history, and the one behind the curtain, something stands out. Us.

We're another force. And we're only still emerging. We're change. We're an equal to them. We just don't realize it yet. #Quote by Wildbow
Universe quotes by Raymond Moody
#27. I felt the question of the afterlife was the black hole of the personal universe: something for which substantial proof of existence had been offered but which had not yet been explored in the proper way by scientists and philosophers. #Quote by Raymond Moody
Universe quotes by Abhijit Naskar
#28. Be the witness of the turning of the human universe, as you yourself become the cause of that very turn. #Quote by Abhijit Naskar
Universe quotes by J.M. Coetzee
#29. What would yield the greater benefit to mankind: if I spent the afternoon taking stock in my dispensary, or if I went to the beach and took off my clothes and lay in my underpants absorbing the benign spring sun, watching the children frolic in the water, later buying an ice-cream from the kiosk on the parking lot, if the kiosk is still there? What did Noël ultimately achieve labouring at his desk to balance the bodies out against the bodies in? Would he not be better off taking a nap? Maybe the universal sum of happiness would be increased if we declared this afternoon a holiday and went down to the beach, commandant, doctor, chaplain, PT instructors, guards, dog-handlers all together with the six hard cases from the detention block, leaving behind the concussion case to look after things. Perhaps we might meet some girls. For what reason were we waging the war, after all, but to augment the sum of happiness in the universe? Or was I misremembering, was that another war I was thinking of? #Quote by J.M. Coetzee
Universe quotes by Nicolas Cage
#30. The best characters are the ones that somehow manage to be both attractive and repulsive at the same time. If you do that, you're at the center of the universe - if you can find characters who are more ambiguous and can raise more questions than answers. #Quote by Nicolas Cage
Universe quotes by Terry Pratchett
#31. HUMAN BEINGS MAKE LIFE SO INTERESTING. DO YOU KNOW, THAT IN A UNIVERSE SO FULL OF WONDERS, THEY HAVE MANAGED TO INVENT BOREDOM. (Death) #Quote by Terry Pratchett
Universe quotes by Franz Bardon
#32. The entire universe can be compared to a clockwork with wheels that engage with each other and which are interdependent with each other. #Quote by Franz Bardon
Universe quotes by Hope Jahren
#33. I knew that before noon I would be told that my discovery was not special. An older and wiser scientist would tell me that, in fact, what I had seen was something that he himself might have assumed. While he explained that my observation wasn't a true revelation, only a confirmation of what should have been an obvious guess, I listened politely. It didn't matter what he said. Nothing could alter the overwhelming sweetness of briefly holding a small secret that the universe had earmarked just for me. I knew instinctively that if I was worthy of a small secret, I might someday be worthy of a big one. By #Quote by Hope Jahren
Universe quotes by Leonard Clifton
#34. We're the grand design, and I think Stephen Hawking was right when he mentioned the Greek Ionian influence spreading throughout the world, talking about the universe and how it possesses an internal order. The Atlantians knew this and we'll be the sheriffs of that order fighting to keep gargoyles from arriving here and warming up our planet earth more than it is at this moment. #Quote by Leonard Clifton
Universe quotes by J.C. Daniels
#35. If it scares you, I'll shift back." "I just sliced and diced a Burmese python while you were busy growling at the universe, you overgrown housecat." I #Quote by J.C. Daniels
Universe quotes by Nancy Springer
#36. He was just a sixteen-year old boy who had been killed, a kid whose photo had been in the paper, a kid who would mostly be forgotten by the time the newspaper went into the garbage-yet he was the universe, all the dying, all the crying. He was everyone who had ever died young. #Quote by Nancy Springer
Universe quotes by Mehmet Murat Ildan
#37. In this vast universe, we are condemned to feel tiny; megalomaniac is the one who cannot feel the true dimensions of this universe! #Quote by Mehmet Murat Ildan
Universe quotes by Mestakung
#38. If you hardwork and believe, all of universe will help you until you can catch your dreams #Quote by Mestakung
Universe quotes by Charles Roven
#39. I think that Superman is the pinnacle of the DC Universe. Our feeling always was that you need to get Superman right. That was also our goal. We didn't want to ignore that this universe exists. #Quote by Charles Roven
Universe quotes by Ivan Rusilko
#40. What is Destiny?

Is it a doctrine formulated by aristocrats and philosophers arguing that there is some unseen driving force predicting the outcomes of every minuscule and life altering moment in one's life? Or is it the artistry illustrated by those under-qualifed and over-eager to give their future meaning and their ambitions hope?

Is it a declaration by those who refuse to accept that we are alone in this universe, spinning randomly through a matrix of accidental coincidences? Or is it the assumptions made by those who concede that there is a divine plan or pre-ordained path for each human being, regardless of their current station?

I think destiny is a bit of a tease....

It's syndical taunts and teases mock those naive enough to believe in its black jack dealing of inevitable futures. Its evolution from puppy dogs and ice cream to razor blades and broken mirrors characterizes the fickle nature of its sordid underbelly. Those relying on its decisive measures will fracture under its harsh rules. Those embracing the fact that life happens at a million miles a minute will flourish in its random grace.

Destiny has afforded me the most magical memories and unbelievably tragic experiences that have molded and shaped my life into what it is today...beautiful.
I fully accept the mirage that destiny promises and the reality it can produce. Without the invisible momentum carried with its sincere fabrication of coming attra #Quote by Ivan Rusilko
Universe quotes by Deepak Chopra
#41. Coincidences are glimpses in to the creative mind of the universe. #Quote by Deepak Chopra
Universe quotes by Nikola Tesla
#42. If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration. #Quote by Nikola Tesla
Universe quotes by Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar
#43. Macroscopic objects, as we see them all around us, are governed by a variety of forces, derived from a variety of approximations to a variety of physical theories. In contrast, the only elements in the construction of black holes are our basic concepts of space and time. They are, thus, almost by definition, the most perfect macroscopic objects there are in the universe. #Quote by Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar
Universe quotes by Frank Close
#44. We are made of atoms. With each breath you inhale a million billion billion atoms of oxygen, which gives some idea of how small each one is. All of them, together with the carbon atoms in your skin, and indeed everything else on Earth, were cooked in a star some 5 billion years ago. So you are made of stuff that is as old as the planet, one-third as old as the universe, though this is the first time that those atoms have been gathered together such that they think that they are you. #Quote by Frank Close
Universe quotes by Ilona Andrews
#45. Just reflecting on the fact that when the Universe punches you in the teeth, it never just lets you fall down. It kicks you in the ribs a couple of times and dumps mud on your head. #Quote by Ilona Andrews
Universe quotes by John Desmond Bernal
#46. We are still too close to the birth of the universe to be certain about its death. #Quote by John Desmond Bernal
Universe quotes by Don Henley
#47. Insect politics, indifferent universe. Bang your head against the wall, but apathy is worse. #Quote by Don Henley
Universe quotes by Katy Tackes
#48. ...once you express your will, the Universe will conspire with each and every atom to help you reach your destiny. #Quote by Katy Tackes
Universe quotes by Stormy Smith
#49. To every lost soul:
Every day your presence impacts someone's life.
You may never know the extent, but the universe put you
here for a reason and we need you. #Quote by Stormy Smith
Universe quotes by Jean-Paul Sartre
#50. Someone will say, "I did not ask to be born." This is a naive way of throwing greater emphasis on our facticity. I am responsible for everything, in fact,
except for my very responsibility, for I am not the foundation of my being. Therefore everything takes place as if I were compelled to be responsible. I am abandoned in the world, not in the sense that I might remain abandoned and passive in a hostile universe like a board floating on the water, but rather in the sense that I find myself suddenly alone and without help, engaged in a world for which I bear the whole responsibility without being able, whatever I do, to tear myself away from this responsibility for an instant. For I am responsible for my very desire of fleeing responsibilities. To make myself passive in the world, to refuse to act upon things and upon Others is still to choose myself, and suicide is one mode among others of being-in-the-world. Yet I find an absolute responsibility for the fact that my facticity (here the fact of my birth) is directly inapprehensible and even inconceivable, for this fact of my birth never appears as a brute fact but always across a projective reconstruction of my for-itself. I am ashamed of being born or I am astonished at it or I rejoice over it, or in attempting to get rid of my life I affirm that I live and I assume this life as bad. Thus in a certain sense I choose being born. #Quote by Jean-Paul Sartre
Universe quotes by Briana Pacheco
#51. You're like a newly discovered universe, and I plan on taking my time exploring everything about you. #Quote by Briana Pacheco
Universe quotes by Michio Kaku
#52. [On the practical applications of particle physics research with the Large Hadron Collider.]
Sometimes the public says, 'What's in it for Numero Uno? Am I going to get better television reception? Am I going to get better Internet reception?' Well, in some sense, yeah ... All the wonders of quantum physics were learned basically from looking at atom-smasher technology ... But let me let you in on a secret: We physicists are not driven to do this because of better color television ... That's a spin-off. We do this because we want to understand our role and our place in the universe. #Quote by Michio Kaku
Universe quotes by Bryan Islip
#53. Everything sings, the whole universe and all the other universes. It's in our genes, see, not just in our ears. #Quote by Bryan Islip
Universe quotes by James Campion Conway
#54. The morning after my mother's death, I was surprised to see the sunrise. From behind the curtain of my bedroom window I was surprised to see the people leave their homes and begin the day. Downstairs, the hands of the grandfather clock continued to tick, marking each passing hour with a chime that echoed over the black and white chessboard tiles of the front hall. I was surprised to see the mail come at the same time as the day before and, later that evening, the sun set once more as it did since the beginning of time. My mother's death did not disturb the planets in their courses. And, though everything kept moving like she never existed at all, my world erupted into chaos until the universe swirled around me like a whirlpool of scattering stars. #Quote by James Campion Conway
Universe quotes by Jeanette Winterson
#55. Now that physics is proving the intelligence of the universe what are we to do about the stupidity of mankind? I include myself. I know that the earth is not flat but my feet are. I know that space is curved but my brain has been condoned by habit to grow in a straight line. What I call light is my own blend of darkness. What I call a view is my hand-painted trompe-l'oeil. I run after knowledge like a ferret down a ferret hole. My limitations, I call the boundaries of what can be known. I interpret the world by confusing other people's psychology with my own. #Quote by Jeanette Winterson
Universe quotes by M. Teresa Clayton
#56. The skeleton key unlocks the mind and swings open the door of imagination. A far better place than here A much safer place than there The quintessential somewhere The mystical nowhere The enigmatic anywhere My gift to you - the key to everywhere.
The mortal will find itself lost while the soul always knows the way it is grateful for the darkness and celebrates the day

I can give you peace my peace I give you... but I cannot be your savior or your god - I cannot be the light along your path - I can only give you the lamp and point the way.

The blind will see... the deaf will hear... but those who choose reason will never understand.

Woe to the ones who think they know the answers they will cease to ask the questions that may be their own salvation.

We possess the knowledge of the Universe from conception. Once born we are taught to forget.

If we cannot look out at our world and see our children's vision then we are truly blind we are unable to lead them to paradise.

"Even people who are in the dark search for their shadows. Shadows exist only if there is light. We will never find total darkness - not even in death... ...and we always cast a shadow no matter how overcast our skies become. You are never alone."

Do not listen to the voice that shouts to you from behind desks behind podiums behind altars. Do not pay attention to the orators and the opportunists. Do not be distracted by th #Quote by M. Teresa Clayton
Universe quotes by Douglas Adams
#57. After five seconds there was a click, and the entire Universe was there in the box with him. #Quote by Douglas Adams
Universe quotes by Rebecca West
#58. Now, what class of actions always appear to us as automatic and neutral, inevitable and therefore exempt from censure? Our own. We always believe that what we did we had to do. Other men have free will, we ourselves live in a determined universe. And though we may know everything about our actions, how they are carried out and what results followed, we cannot know them for what they are, as we know that a rose is red and is scented, a plate of soup brown and hot and made of beans. Each man is a mystery to himself. #Quote by Rebecca West
Universe quotes by Khalid Masood
#59. Nothing is integral part of something. There's no such thing as an independent "Nothing" or Nothingness. That is, "Nothing is a state of matter" (or/and) a clear-cut dimension of time. Moreover, Nothing or Nothingness may be the ultimate building block of the universe or time itself. In my view, an ultimate extreme level of a moment in time is nothing but "Nothing" in itself. #Quote by Khalid Masood
Universe quotes by Patricia Velasquez
#60. The universe only gives you what you can handle, so trust that whatever is happening to you is exactly what you need. Just trust. Have certainty! #Quote by Patricia Velasquez
Universe quotes by Arthur C. Clarke
#61. Think of such civilizations, far back in time against the fading afterglow of creation, masters of a universe so young that life as yet had come only to a handful of worlds. Theirs would have been a loneliness of gods looking out across infinity and finding none to share their thoughts. #Quote by Arthur C. Clarke
Universe quotes by Kevin Hearne
#62. Douglas Adams was right: There is nothing so massively useful in the universe as a towel. #Quote by Kevin Hearne
Universe quotes by Joss Whedon
#63. When you're telling a story, you're trying to connect to people in a particular way ... The way in which you guys have inhabited this world, this universe, has made you part of it, part of the story. You are living in Firefly. When I see you guys, I don't think the show is off the air. I don't think there's a show; I think that's what the world is like. ... The story is our lives. #Quote by Joss Whedon
Universe quotes by Robert M. Price
#64. The Warrenite Christian is like a Star Wars geek who dressed up in costume and dearly wishes he lived the Star Wars universe. Sometimes such a fan will even spend as much time as he can in weekend costume conventions. For Warrenites, that's going to church. #Quote by Robert M. Price
Universe quotes by Krista Tippett
#65. More to the point: the growing universe of the Nones - the new nonreligious - is one of the most spiritually vibrant and provocative spaces in modern life. It is not a world in which spiritual life is absent. It is a world that resists religious excesses and shallows. #Quote by Krista Tippett
Universe quotes by Victoria Erickson
#66. To know someone deeply
is to know a universe
contained in skin. #Quote by Victoria Erickson
Universe quotes by Pablo Neruda
#67. Every day you play with the light of the universe. #Quote by Pablo Neruda
Universe quotes by Lunga Noélia Izata
#68. We went to my friend's place to continue hanging out and I fell asleep on her couch. I was dreaming and I felt something poking me, as a writer I need to be specific and use description to take my readers to the place but I don't want to take you guys there. I continued to feel poked on a part of my body that I saved for seventeen years. The poke later became touching, and I tried to stop it but I couldn't. I thought it was sleep paralysis but this time the demon was human. I felt so powerless, like I was part of the marvel universe and someone had taken my power. I never told anyone about it, because they would blame it on drinking problems. I admit that I have a drinking problem, but I am pretty sure he has a 'lack of humanity problem'. At least, alcohol does not change character. #Quote by Lunga Noélia Izata
Universe quotes by Kenneth G. Ortiz
#69. As we dwell here within the age of Aquarius everything may look the same but it is not so. Everything is so different right now. There is a new energy emerging from the universe. New vibrations, new aspirations, new horizons, new beginnings. We are living in the time of the apocalypse, where all will be revealed. If you are one that pays attention to life and are on your path you will see all. If you are more interested in the materialistic, you will miss all the glory of your true nature. #Quote by Kenneth G. Ortiz
Universe quotes by Derek Rydall
#70. The interesting (and sometimes scary) thing about living a purposeful life is you begin to realize that, in a very real way, your life is not your own. You're not here to just get all the good stuff for yourself - and maybe your loved ones - so you can live a happy, pleasure-filled existence. You are part of a larger organism, a larger system, and all the good that you receive, all the talent you possess, everything that you have, is not for your benefit only - but for the benefit of the whole system. And the more you surrender to this, the more the universe will pour its bounty through you so you can be a bigger giver. #Quote by Derek Rydall
Universe quotes by Ronald Carter
#71. THE METAPHYSICAL POETS

Had we but world enough, and time,
This coyness, lady, were no crime

(Andrew Marvell, To His Coy Mistress)

While theatre was the most public literary form of the period, poetry tended to be more personal, more private. Indeed, it was often published for only a limited circle of readers. This was true of Shakespeare's sonnets, as we have seen, and even more so for the Metaphysical poets, whose works were published mostly after their deaths. John Donne and George Herbert are the most significant of these poets.
The term 'Metaphysical' was used to describe their work by the eighteenth-century critic, Samuel Johnson. He intended the adjective to be pejorative. He attacked the poets' lack of feeling, their learning, and the surprising range of images and comparisons they used. Donne and Herbert were certainly very innovative poets, but the term 'Metaphysical' is only a label, which is now used to describe the modern impact of their writing. After three centuries of neglect and disdain, the Metaphysical poets have come to be very highly regarded and have been influential in recent British poetry and criticism. They used contemporary scientific discoveries and theories, the topical debates on humanism, faith, and eternity, colloquial speech-based rhythms, and innovative verse forms, to examine the relationship between the individual, his God, and the universe. Their 'conceits', metaphors and images, paradoxes and inte #Quote by Ronald Carter
Universe quotes by John A. Keel
#72. The concept of a supermind running the universe objectively, without compassion, is not new. Several religions are built around it. Thinking of God in these terms is not heresy but is advanced theology. The old-time God - the big bearded man sitting on a throne in the sky - is dead. #Quote by John A. Keel
Universe quotes by Richard Kadrey
#73. The universe is a meat grinder and we're just pork in designer shoes, keeping busy so we can pretend we're not all headed for the sausage factory. Maybe I've been hallucinating this whole time and there is no Heaven and Hell. Instead of having to choose between God and the devil, maybe our only real choice comes down to link or patty? #Quote by Richard Kadrey
Universe quotes by Jess Rothenberg
#74. Every single part of me ached, sort of like the universe was exploding inside my skull, or like my body was tearing itself apart in order to rebuild everything from the inside out. To re-create some twisted semblance of me. #Quote by Jess Rothenberg
Universe quotes by Lao-Tzu
#75. Music in the soul can be heard by the universe. #Quote by Lao-Tzu
Universe quotes by Marshall McLuhan
#76. The Newtonian God - the God who made a clock-like universe, wound it, and withdrew - died a long time ago. This is what Nietzsche meant and this is the God who is being observed. #Quote by Marshall McLuhan
Universe quotes by Mercedes McCambridge
#77. My only true harmony lies deep within my soul, wherever that is. I know that somehow I am in tune with the universe. #Quote by Mercedes McCambridge
Universe quotes by Debasish Mridha
#78. Love is a divine and universal attraction, which hold the universe together and fills it with beauty, life, and happiness forever. #Quote by Debasish Mridha
Universe quotes by Marianne Williamson
#79. Imagine how differently American business would function were our faith in the power of goodness to replace our faith in the power of money. Huge industries would no longer make billions of dollars on activities that diminish the well-being and safety of our children, our health, and our environment, on the pretext that it's "just business." To put money before goodness is idolatry, and the laws of the universe ensure that in the end all idols will fall. #Quote by Marianne Williamson
Universe quotes by Robert Lanza
#80. Sometime in the future, science will be able to create realities that we can't even begin to imagine. As we evolve, we'll be able to construct other information systems that correspond to other realities, universes based on logic completely different from ours and not based on space and time. #Quote by Robert Lanza
Universe quotes by William James
#81. At bottom, the whole concern of religion is with the manner of our acceptance of the universe. #Quote by William James
Universe quotes by Matshona Dhliwayo
#82. Love is a whole universe that you can fit inside your soul. #Quote by Matshona Dhliwayo
Universe quotes by Lisa Renee Jones
#83. My boss is dictating my preventive hangover care, and I just used the word swords in reference to his obvious cockfight with the man I just made out with in a public hallway. I am truly in an alternate universe. #Quote by Lisa Renee Jones
Universe quotes by Thomas Huxley
#84. If every man possessed everything he wanted, and no one had the power to interfere with such possession; or if no man desired thatwhich could damage his fellow-man, justice would have no part to play in the universe. #Quote by Thomas Huxley
Universe quotes by John Dolan
#85. I wonder briefly whether a schizophrenic Buddhist would be At Two with the universe. #Quote by John Dolan
Universe quotes by Jonathan Kellerman
#86. I spent the first few years of my life in a smallish community in Queens. Back in those early days, kids could roam the streets with relatively little supervision and one place I visited frequently was the local library. This particular branch was little more than a storefront but to me it was an alternative universe where I could explore my interests and receive kind, informative answers to my questions from the wonderful librarians. #Quote by Jonathan Kellerman
Universe quotes by Sergio De La Pava
#87. What was I supposed to do then I wondered. Was there even a supposed-to for this kind of situation? A situation when when I looked at my receding past everything seemed retrospectively marked by an extreme order and predictability yet all moments since seemed to obey, and promised to continue obeying, their own set of stochastic, undisclosed, and undiscoverable laws. Where I was fully aware of the pitfalls and folly of a finely-tuned narcissism but still the known universe seemed to bend and bend inexorably inward and towards me where it awaited my next move, supremely ready to react accordingly. And how I knew that decisions I would soon make or defer would have near-Sophoclean import and yet nonetheless it all seemed oddly irrelevant. #Quote by Sergio De La Pava
Universe quotes by Norman Geisler
#88. The age of the Earth is a hotly debated issue among evangelicals. Old Earthers believe, like most scientists, that the universe is billions of years old. Young Earthers measure the age of the universe in terms of thousands of years. #Quote by Norman Geisler
Universe quotes by Ellen Kaplan
#89. A Puritan twist in our nature makes us think that anything good for us must be twice as good if it's hard to swallow. Learning Greek and Latin used to play the role of character builder, since they were considered to be as exhausting and unrewarding as digging a trench in the morning and filling it up in the afternoon. It was what made a man, or a woman -- or more likely a robot -- of you. Now math serves that purpose in many schools: your task is to try to follow rules that make sense, perhaps, to some higher beings; and in the end to accept your failure with humbled pride. As you limp off with your aching mind and bruised soul, you know that nothing in later life will ever be as difficult.

What a perverse fate for one of our kind's greatest triumphs! Think how absurd it would be were music treated this way (for math and music are both excursions into sensuous structure): suffer through playing your scales, and when you're an adult you'll never have to listen to music again. And this is mathematics we're talking about, the language in which, Galileo said, the Book of the World is written. This is mathematics, which reaches down into our deepest intuitions and outward toward the nature of the universe -- mathematics, which explains the atoms as well as the stars in their courses, and lets us see into the ways that rivers and arteries branch. For mathematics itself is the study of connections: how things ideally must and, in fact, do sort together -- beyond, around, #Quote by Ellen Kaplan
Universe quotes by Esther Hicks
#90. The truth is, the Universe will always take care of you. #Quote by Esther Hicks
Universe quotes by Richard Dawkins
#91. Creative intelligences, being evolved arrived late in the universe and therefore cannot be responsible for designing it. #Quote by Richard Dawkins
Universe quotes by Sheila Heti
#92. Alone, one feels the whole universe, and none of one's personality. #Quote by Sheila Heti
Universe quotes by Bill Bryson
#93. This is one reason that some experts believe there may have been many other big bangs, perhaps trillions and trillions of them, spread through the mighty span of eternity, and that the reason we exist in this particular one is that this is one we could exist in. As Edward P. Tryon of Columbia University once put it: "In answer to the question of why it happened, I offer the modest proposal that our Universe is simply one of those things which happen from time to time." To which adds Guth: "Although the creation of a universe might be very unlikely, Tryon emphasized that no one had counted the failed attempts. #Quote by Bill Bryson
Universe quotes by Sally Fallon Morell
#94. For the universe holds no greater wonder than the developing child, #Quote by Sally Fallon Morell
Universe quotes by Franklin D. Roosevelt
#95. Coming to grips with the reality that our planet is not the only one harboring intelligent life the universe. #Quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt
Universe quotes by John P. Wheeler III
#96. Is the very mechanism for the universe to come into being meaningless or unworkable or both unless the universe is guaranteed to produce life, consciousness and observership somewhere and for some little time in its history-to-be? #Quote by John P. Wheeler III
Universe quotes by Douglas Adams
#97. O Deep Thought computer," he said, "the task we have designed you to perform is this. We want you to tell us...." he paused, "The Answer."
"The Answer?" said Deep Thought. "The Answer to what?"
"Life!" urged Fook.
"The Universe!" said Lunkwill.
"Everything!" they said in chorus.
Deep Thought paused for a moment's reflection.
"Tricky," he said finally.
"But can you do it?"
Again, a significant pause.
"Yes," said Deep Thought, "I can do it."
"There is an answer?" said Fook with breathless excitement.
"Yes," said Deep Thought. "Life, the Universe, and Everything. There is an answer. But, I'll have to think about it."
...
Fook glanced impatiently at his watch.
"How long?" he said.
"Seven and a half million years," said Deep Thought.
Lunkwill and Fook blinked at each other.
"Seven and a half million years...!" they cried in chorus.
"Yes," declaimed Deep Thought, "I said I'd have to think about it, didn't I?"

[Seven and a half million years later.... Fook and Lunkwill are long gone, but their descendents continue what they started]

"We are the ones who will hear," said Phouchg, "the answer to the great question of Life....!"
"The Universe...!" said Loonquawl.
"And Everything...!"
"Shhh," said Loonquawl with a slight gesture. "I think Deep Thought is preparing to speak!"
There was a moment's expectant pause while panels slowly came to life on the front #Quote by Douglas Adams
Universe quotes by Pawan Mishra
#98. Availability of knowledge is only next to prevalence of stupidity in its overwhelming abundance. #Quote by Pawan Mishra
Universe quotes by Three Initiates
#99. There is not one who is Fatherless, nor Motherless in the Universe. #Quote by Three Initiates
Universe quotes by Thomas Paine
#100. Liberty and Property are words expressing all those of our possessions which are not of an intellectual nature. There are two kinds of property. Firstly, natural property, or that which comes to us from the Creator of the universe-such as the earth, air, water. Secondly, artificial or acquired property-the invention of men. In the latter, equality is impossible; for to distribute it equally it would be necessary that all should have contributed in the same proportion, which can never be the case; and this being the case, every individual would hold on to his own property, as his right share. Equality of natural property is the subject of this little essay. Every individual in the world is born therein with legitimate claims on a certain kind of property, or its equivalent. -Agrarian Justice #Quote by Thomas Paine
Universe quotes by Helen Keller
#101. The infinite wonders of the universe are revealed to us in exact measure as we are capable of receiving them. The keenness of our vision depends not on how much we can see, but on how much we feel. #Quote by Helen Keller
Universe quotes by Paulo Coelho
#102. When you really want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it #Quote by Paulo Coelho
Universe quotes by Isadora Duncan
#103. Dance is the movement of the universe concentrated in an individual. #Quote by Isadora Duncan
Universe quotes by Kristan Higgins
#104. I'd be happy with Daniel. I already was. The fact that the universe had given me two lovely men and a baby in the space of a year...well, the universe was full of tricks and mystery. #Quote by Kristan Higgins
Universe quotes by Mark Evanier
#105. Tell Jack that after he finishs saving the universe again, he has to take out the trash in the kitchen."
-Rosalind Kirby, one day in 1971 #Quote by Mark Evanier
Universe quotes by Cormac McCarthy
#106. John thinks that the laws of the universe may themselves be evolving. He asks such questions as where were the laws of physics before the universe was created. Was there, is there a matrix, a mother field, existing outside time? All this is a bit thorny for me. I don't know. I believe that the laws are the laws. I believe that the reason there are millions of planets is the same reason there are millions of eggs. To allow for failure. There must be countless experimental situations like this one. The only thing that is not expendable is the experiment itself. Our notions of our own uniqueness are precisely that. Our notions. We will not be missed. When we have slaughtered and poisoned everything in sight and finally incinerated the earth itself then that black and lifeless lump of slag will simply revolve in the void forever. There is a place for it too. A nameless cinder of no consequence even to God. That man can halt this disaster now seems so remote a possibility as to hardly bear consideration. #Quote by Cormac McCarthy
Universe quotes by A.W. Tozer
#107. The widest thing in the universe is not space; it is the potential capacity of the human heart. Being made in the image of God, it is capable of almost unlimited extension in all directions. And one of the world's worst tragedies is that we allow our hearts to shrink until there is room in them for little beside ourselves. #Quote by A.W. Tozer
Universe quotes by Damian Conway
#108. Programming is a Dark Art, and it always will be. The programmer is fighting against the two most destructive forces in the universe: entropy and human stupidity. These are not things you can overcome with a "methodology" or on a schedule. #Quote by Damian Conway
Universe quotes by Raheel Farooq
#109. Time is conscience of the universe. #Quote by Raheel Farooq
Universe quotes by Lawrence M. Krauss
#110. Imagining living in a universe without purpose may prepare us to better face reality head on. I cannot see that this is such a bad thing. #Quote by Lawrence M. Krauss
Universe quotes by Jack Kerouac
#111. The other man, just as
lonesome as I am
In this empty universe #Quote by Jack Kerouac
Universe quotes by Vexior 218
#112. I devotedly believe that the essence of my being - my spirit - is not truly a part of the universe, it is a part of Chaos. My spirit is a fragment of the Hidden God beyond the nutshell we call the cosmos; thus being trapped in a human body is only a prison in my eyes. #Quote by Vexior 218
Universe quotes by Hank Green
#113. Your cruelties and mistakes may look damning to you, but that is not what I see. Every human conversation is more elegant and complex than the entire solar system that contains it. You have no idea how marvelous you are, but I am not only here to protect what you are now, I am here to protect what you will become. I can't tell you what that might be because I don't know. That unknown is a diamond in a universe of dirt. Uncertainty. Unpredictability. It is when you turn your emotions into art. It is BTS and the Sistine Chapel and Rumi's poetry and Ross Geller on the stairs yelling, 'Pivot.' Every creation great and small, they are our diamonds. And what you may be in two hundred years, we can guess with fair accuracy. What you are in two thousand . . . Oh, my friends . . . my best friends, you cannot know. #Quote by Hank Green
Universe quotes by Marcus Aurelius
#114. Be mindful at all times of the following: the nature of the whole universe, the nature of the part that is me, the relation of the one to the other, the one so vast, the other so small. #Quote by Marcus Aurelius
Universe quotes by Stephen Hawking
#115. Why is there something rather than nothing? Why do we exist? Why this particular set of laws and not some other? This is the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything. We shall attempt to answer it in this book. Unlike the answer given in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, ours won't be simply "42". #Quote by Stephen Hawking
Universe quotes by Yuval Noah Harari
#116. Humanism is a belief that Homo sapiens has a unique and sacred nature, which is fundamentally different from the nature of all other animals and of all other phenomena. Humanists believe that the unique nature of Homo sapiens is the most important thing in the world, and it determines the meaning of everything that happens in the universe. The supreme good is the good of Homo sapiens. #Quote by Yuval Noah Harari
Universe quotes by Dave Zebian
#117. The waves of love roll throughout the Universe, and overflow in our hearts..
Everything is ONE! #Quote by Dave Zebian
Universe quotes by Anthony Giddens
#118. To live in the universe of high modernity is to live in an environment of chance and risk, the ineveitable concomitants of a system geared to the domination of nature and the reflexive making of history. Fate and destiny have no formal part to play in such a system, which operates (as a matter of principle) via what I shall call open human control of the natural and social worlds. #Quote by Anthony Giddens
Universe quotes by Oprah Winfrey
#119. The true meaning of courage is to be afraid, and then, with your knees knocking and your heart racing, to step out anyway - even when that step makes sense to nobody but you. I know that's not easy. But making a bold move is the only way to truly advance toward the grandest vision the universe has for you. #Quote by Oprah Winfrey
Universe quotes by C. JoyBell C.
#120. It's time that I stop referring to myself, thinking about myself, planning for myself, according to the gridlines and the timelines and the guidelines of people. I will expand in this universe, I will not stay on the lines nor within the lines written by this world. #Quote by C. JoyBell C.
Universe quotes by Frederick Lenz
#121. If you pursue meditation with a non-competitive attitude, with a hopeful and helpful attitude, without violence, then you will find that you will become a very benign and powerful being, one who is at peace with himself and the universe. #Quote by Frederick Lenz
Universe quotes by Gilbert K. Chesterton
#122. The Universe is the most extraordinary masterpiece ever constructed by nobody. #Quote by Gilbert K. Chesterton
Universe quotes by Anais Nin
#123. I always run away from the simplest phrases because they never contain all of the truth. To me the truth is something which cannot be told in a few words, and those who simplify the universe only reduce the expansion of its meaning. #Quote by Anais Nin
Universe quotes by Mike Massimino
#124. It was one of those perfect nights, listening to the waves crash, feeling the warm summer breeze, watching the sun set over the ocean as the moon rose up in the sky. I looked out over the cliffs and I thought about the explorers who had sailed from places like this, what they'd accomplished, mapping the unknown world, charting our place in the universe. How many times had they failed and fallen down only to get back up and try again? How many times had they sailed out on an impossible voyage and made a successful return home? I sat there with Carola looking out over the endless horizon. It was strange, but I felt like everything was going to be okay. The end of my story was not yet written, and I still had the chance to make it extraordinary. #Quote by Mike Massimino
Universe quotes by Rachel Miner
#125. A lot of people will call me nuts or crazy, but I've always been pretty stable. By some people's standards, I might be crazy. But I realize that I'm not going to harm anyone, and the only place that I live is within my own universe, really - so it's O.K. #Quote by Rachel Miner
Universe quotes by Matthew Fox
#126. The universe is in the habit of making beauty. There are flowers and songs, snowflakes and smiles, acts of great courage, laughter between friends, a job well done, the smell of fresh baked bread. Beauty is everywhere. #Quote by Matthew Fox
Universe quotes by Roger Zelazny
#127. It would be nice if there were some one thing constant and unchanging in the universe. If there is such a thing, then it is a thing which would have to be stronger than love, and it is a thing which I do not know. #Quote by Roger Zelazny
Universe quotes by Emily Dickinson
#128. THE MOON was but a chin of gold
A night or two ago,
And now she turns her perfect face
Upon the world below.
Her forehead is of amplest blond;
Her cheek like beryl stone;
Her eye unto the summer dew
The likest I have known.
Her lips of amber never part;
But what must be the smile
Upon her friend she could bestow
Were such her silver will!
And what a privilege to be
But the remotest star!
For certainly her way might pass
Beside your twinkling door.
Her bonnet is the firmament,
The universe her shoe,
The stars the trinkets at her belt,
Her dimities of blue. #Quote by Emily Dickinson
Universe quotes by Edward Robert Harrison
#129. Why are the heavens not filled with light? Why is the universe plunged into darkness? #Quote by Edward Robert Harrison
Universe quotes by Donavan Nelson Butler
#130. The greatest risk most of us will take in our lifetime is that of repression or denial of basic rights of another person. The great risk is that you have no idea what will happen if that person you think so small or insignificant of stands up and totally eclipses the Sun in the universe of those lacking in empathy, humility, and humbleness. #Quote by Donavan Nelson Butler
Universe quotes by Steven Wright
#131. Black holes result from God dividing the universe by zero. #Quote by Steven Wright
Universe quotes by Dawna Markova
#132. Kindness is twice blessed. It blesses the one who gives it with a sense of his or her own capacity to love, and the person who receives it with a sense of the beneficence of the universe. #Quote by Dawna Markova
Universe quotes by Taner Edis
#133. When confronted with a demand that the universe have a cause, infidels have usually pointed out that God was not much of an explanation. This is true enough, but not really a positive argument. After mechanistic explanation became popular, infidels liked to restrict causality to the chain of causes in an eternal material universe, pointing out that no supernatural cause was then necessary. Plausible, but still rather defensive. Today's skeptic can do better. In all likelihood, the universe is uncaused. It is random. It just is. #Quote by Taner Edis
Universe quotes by Haruki Murakami
#134. The Earth, time, concepts, love, life, faith justice, evil - they're all fluid and in transition. They don't stay in one form or in one place forever. The whole universe is like some big FedEx box. #Quote by Haruki Murakami
Universe quotes by Douglas R. Hofstadter
#135. Perhaps the greatest contradiction in our lives, the hardest to handle, is the knowledge 'There was a time when I was not alive, and there will come a time when I am not alive.' On one level, when you 'step out of yourself' and see yourself as 'just another human being', it makes complete sense. But on another level, perhaps a deeper level, personal nonexistence makes no sense at all. All that we know is embedded inside our minds, and for all that to be absent from the universe is not comprehensible. This is a basic undeniable problem of life... #Quote by Douglas R. Hofstadter
Universe quotes by Paul Bloom
#136. I don't doubt that the explanation for consciousness will arise from the mercilessly scientific account of psychology and neuroscience, but, still, isn't it neat that the universe is such that it gave rise to conscious beings like you and me? #Quote by Paul Bloom
Universe quotes by Willard Van Orman Quine
#137. Wyman's overpopulated universe is in many ways unlovely. It offends the aesthetic sense of us who have a taste for desert landscapes, but this is not the worst of it. Wyman's slum of possibles is a breeding ground for disorderly elements. #Quote by Willard Van Orman Quine
Universe quotes by Beth Revis
#138. I just had to hope you'd find me, he says.
Then he can't talk any more because I'm kissing him, and I don't think I'll ever stop. But I do. I lean back and stare into his eyes, and it's not until I see the light within them that I realize the truth of it.
He's back.
Beth Revis (Shades of Earth pg. 440) #Quote by Beth Revis
Universe quotes by Sam Allberry
#139. Jesus has been exalted. Through his resurrection and ascension the King has been enthroned. All authority has been given to him. The universe is his. His authority is absolute and exhaustive. You will never breathe air that doesn't belong to him and you will suffocate if you try. #Quote by Sam Allberry
Universe quotes by J. Michael Straczynski
#140. Captain John Sheridan: I wish I had your faith in the universe. I just don't see it.
Delenn: Then I will tell you a great secret, Captain. Perhaps the greatest of them all. The molecules of your body are the same molecules that make up this station , and the nebula outside, that burn inside the stars themselves. We are starstuff. We are the universe made manifest, trying to figure itself out. And as we have both learned, sometimes the universe requires a change of perspective. #Quote by J. Michael Straczynski
Universe quotes by William Lane Craig
#141. This is reality in a universe without God: there is no hope; there is no purpose. It reminds me of T.S. Eliot's haunting lines:
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
What is true of mankind as a whole is true of each of us individually: we are here to no purpose. If there is no God, then our life is not fundamentally different from that of a dog. #Quote by William Lane Craig
Universe quotes by Liu Cixin
#142. And now we know that this is the journey that must be made by every civilization: awakening inside a cramped cradle, toddling out of it, taking flight, flying faster and farther, and, finally, merging with the fate of the universe as one. The ultimate fate of all intelligent beings has always been to become as grand as their thoughts. #Quote by Liu Cixin
Universe quotes by Douglas Adams
#143. He stood up straight and looked the world squarely in the fields and hills. To add weight to his words he stuck the rabbit bone in his hair. He spread his arm out wide. "I will go mad!" he annouced. #Quote by Douglas Adams
Universe quotes by Susan Jeffers
#144. The term "universe" refers to that life plan that seems to take over despite what we have in mind - that "force" operating, seemingly on its own, that often interferes with our picture of how we would like things to be. It refers to a certain flow in our lives and the lives of others over which we have little or no control. #Quote by Susan Jeffers
Universe quotes by Oprah Winfrey
#145. When the universe compels me toward the best path to take, it never leaves me with "maybe," "should I," or even "perhaps." I always know for sure when it's telling me to proceed - because everything inside me rises up to reverberate "YES! #Quote by Oprah Winfrey
Universe quotes by Steve Maraboli
#146. Do not question your ability or worthiness. God is a universe of purpose-driven balance. If you have been called to action, it is because you have it within you to rise to the challenge of your calling. Now, RISE to it! #Quote by Steve Maraboli
Universe quotes by Jorge Luis Borges
#147. The I feel a contentment in defeat, I reflected, simply because defeat has come, because it is infinitely connected to all the acts that are, that were, and that shall be, because to censure or deplore a single real act is to blaspheme against the universe. #Quote by Jorge Luis Borges
Universe quotes by Rumi
#148. The core of the seen and unseen universe smiles, but remember smiles come best from those who weep. Lightning, then the rain-laughter. #Quote by Rumi
Universe quotes by Marian Keyes
#149. Where does love go when it dies? Into flowers and other beautiful things? Back out into the universe to be recycled? #Quote by Marian Keyes
Universe quotes by Kate Ellison
#150. We are born alone, and all die alone, too. I read that somewhere, in some book. After Oren died I used to lie awake and think about that: think about the universe sucking up hope for us, soul by soul, until we're so dry we all starve, all at once, and the sky takes our bones and crushes them into mulch and starts over again. So goes the cycle. So go the millions and billions of things we can't ever begin to control. #Quote by Kate Ellison
Universe quotes by Nora Raleigh Baskin
#151. You know how they say there's only one thing in the universe that's constant?' Jonas started. 'Change. Change is the only constant in the universe. And left alone, all things return to chaos. #Quote by Nora Raleigh Baskin
Universe quotes by Jaeda DeWalt
#152. A loner by nature and an introvert ... i am a twinkling star, burning bright amidst a cloudless night. As such, i tend to fade in and out of people's lives. This aspect of me is often misunderstood as rejection or a lack of love and caring. In reality, the only way i can survive as an introvert, is to drop from the sky, from time-to-time, recharging within the energizing landscape of my inner-universe. To love me, is to let me me have the space i need to illuminate the sky. I can't be taken hostage or held captive. Inner-light is what gives my star its twinkle. #Quote by Jaeda DeWalt
Universe quotes by Mehmet Murat Ildan
#153. When will you understand that your childish beliefs mean an absolute nothing in this wild universe! When will you be serious? When will you give up deceiving yourself? When will you stop believing in the tales of old times as if they are true? #Quote by Mehmet Murat Ildan
Universe quotes by James Targett
#154. God did not mean us to be ignorant. He left us this marvelous universe to decipher and understand. #Quote by James Targett
Universe quotes by Robert A. Heinlein
#155. There is no such thing as luck. There is only adequate or inadequate preparation to cope with a statistical universe. #Quote by Robert A. Heinlein
Universe quotes by Ken Jenkins
#156. I think science has enjoyed an extraordinary success because it has such a limited and narrow realm in which to focus its efforts. Namely, the physical universe. #Quote by Ken Jenkins
Universe quotes by Thaddeus Golas
#157. No matter what your spiritual condition is, no matter where you find yourself in the universe, your choice is always the same: to expand your awareness or contract it. #Quote by Thaddeus Golas
Universe quotes by Ramesh Menon
#158. Brahma emerged from the right side of Mahesa, Vishnu from the left and Nilarudra from his heart. In the beginning, intoning AUM, Sadasiva created the universe. Siva is Pranava and Pranava is Siva. #Quote by Ramesh Menon
Universe quotes by Albert Camus
#159. And here are trees and I know their gnarled surface, water and I feel its taste. These scents of grass and stars at night, certain evenings when the heart relaxes-how shall I negate this world whose power and strength I feel? Yet all the knowledge on earth will give me nothing to assure me that this world is mine. You describe it to me and you teach me to classify it. You enumerate its laws and in my thirst for knowledge I admit that they are true. You take apart its mechanism and my hope increases. At the final stage you teach me that this wondrous and multicolored universe can be reduced to the atom and that the atom itself can be reduced to the electron. All this is good and I wait for you to continue. But you tell me of an invisible planetary system in which electrons gravitate around a nucleus. You explain this world to me with an image. I realize then that you have been reduced to poetry: I shall never know. #Quote by Albert Camus
Universe quotes by Terry Pratchett
#160. If you take the long view, the universe is just something small and round, like those water filled balls which produce a miniature snowstorm when you shake them. * Although, unless the ineffable plan is a lot more ineffable than it's given credit for, it does not have a giant plastic snowman at the bottom. #Quote by Terry Pratchett
Universe quotes by Laurie Perez
#161. Step into the center of the center of the center - right into your Now - and see: how elegant and honest this moment is. Just being yourself, a world to hold your feet, a universe to lift your gaze, a heart beating - constant, in the center of it all. #Quote by Laurie Perez
Universe quotes by K.C. Cole
#162. There is a hole in the universe.
It is not like a hole in a wall where a mouse slips through, solid and crisp and leading from somewhere to someplace. It is rather like a hole in the heart, an amorphous and edgeless void. It is a heartfelt absence, a blank space where something is missing, a large and obvious blind spot in our understanding of the universe.
That missing something, strange to say, is a grasp of nothing itself. Understanding nothing matters, because nothing is the all-important background upon which everything else happens. #Quote by K.C. Cole
Universe quotes by James Cook
#163. Faith puts the power of the universe at your disposal. #Quote by James Cook
Universe quotes by Witness Lee
#164. All warfare has its source in this conflict of wills. Before the satanic will rose up to contradict the divine will, there was no war in the universe. The controversy in the universe began with the rebellion of the archangel against God. That rebellion was the beginning of all the fighting that is now taking place among nations, in society, in the family, and in individuals. #Quote by Witness Lee
Universe quotes by Paul Murray
#165. To believe in explanations is good, because it means you may believe also that beneath the chaotic, mindless jumble of everything, beneath the horrible disjunction you feel at every moment between you and all you are not, there dwells in the universe a secret harmony, a coherence and rightness like a balanced equation that's out of reach for now but some day will reveal itself in its entirety. #Quote by Paul Murray
Universe quotes by P.D. James
#166. On the whole I'm glad; you can't mourn for unborn grandchildren when there never was a hope of them. This planet is doomed anyway. Eventually the sun will explode or cool and one small insignificant particle of the universe will disappear with only a tremble. If man is doomed to perish, then universal infertility is as painless a way as any. And there are, after all, personal compensations. For the last sixty years we have sycophantically pandered to the most ignorant, the most criminal and the most selfish section of society. Now, for the rest of our lives, we're going to be spared the intrusive barbarism of the young, their noise, their pounding, repetitive, computer-produced so-called music, their violence, their egotism disguised as idealism. My God, we might even succeed in getting rid of Christmas, that annual celebration of parental guilt and juvenile greed. I intend that my life shall be comfortable, and, when it no longer is, then I shall wash down my final pill with a bottle of claret. #Quote by P.D. James
Universe quotes by J.B. Richards
#167. Humankind would be so bored if we already knew all the answers! The beauty of the Universe lies in our need to understand it, for that is what challenges us to acquire the knowledge and wisdom to reach great heights! #Quote by J.B. Richards
Universe quotes by Umberto Eco
#168. We never cease hoping
and thus did our Judge condemn us to suffer in saecula.'
Ferrante asked: 'But what is it that you hope for?'
You might as well ask what you will hope for yourself ... You will hope that a wisp of wind, the slightest swell of the tide, the arrival of a single hungry leech, can return us, atom by atom, to the great Void of the Universe, where we would somehow again participate in the cycle of life. #Quote by Umberto Eco
Universe quotes by Ama H. Vanniarachchy
#169. Inner negativity will attract negative energies from the universe. So be watchful of your thoughts. Don't be a magnate of negativity. #Quote by Ama H. Vanniarachchy
Universe quotes by Tanith Lee
#170. I began to feel lighthearted. Don't ever do that; it tempts some dark and evil force abroad in the universe. #Quote by Tanith Lee
Universe quotes by Katherine Marsh
#171. It is possible to reclaim your future, to build a happy life despite an imperfect past. We can order the universe to our will and mind. #Quote by Katherine Marsh
Universe quotes by Martin Amis
#172. It's all strange to me. I know I live on a fierce and magical planet, which sheds or surrenders rain or even flings it off in whipstroke after whipstroke, which fires out bolts of electric gold into the firmament at 186,000 miles per second, which with a single shrug of its tectonic plates can erect a city in half an hour. Creation ... is easy, is quick. There's also a universe, apparently. But I cannot bear to see the stars, even though I know they're there all right, and I do see them, because Tod looks upward at night, as everybody does, and coos and points. The Plough. Sirius, the dog. The stars, to me, are like pins and needles, are like the routemap of a nightmare. Don't join the dots. ... Of the stars, one alone can I contemplate without pain. And that's a planet. The planet they call the evening star, the morning star. Intense Venus. #Quote by Martin Amis
Universe quotes by Josko J. Sestan
#173. If the creation of the Universe was left up to a atheist, we would still have nothing. #Quote by Josko J. Sestan
Universe quotes by Alan W. Watts
#174. Therefore, if reason grows out of the primal energy that we are, then it means that the primal energy is at least reasonable, whatever else it may be. You can tell the tree by its fruits - for "by their fruits you shall know them" - and so it is that figs do not grow on thistles, or grapes on thorns, and a stupid universe does not create people. People are a manifestation of the potentiality in the energy of the universe, and if we are intelligent, then that which we express is also intelligent. By logical extension, that in which we express it is our central self. The world is not something external; it is what is most fundamentally you. #Quote by Alan W. Watts
Universe quotes by Matshona Dhliwayo
#175. Love is the purest power in the universe. #Quote by Matshona Dhliwayo
Universe quotes by Derek Rydall
#176. An ancient statement declares that "God is no respecter of persons." What this means at the mystical level is that Spirit/The Universe doesn't know or see separate "people" any more than the sun sees separate sunbeams, the ocean recognizes separate waves, or a tree views the branches as separate from each other. All of Life is a unity, expressing fully at every point in the universe. Nowhere is it more or less. Nowhere is it withholding anything. In other words, the only thing blocking your good is your lack of acceptance. #Quote by Derek Rydall
Universe quotes by Shaun David Hutchinson
#177. Your entire sense of self-worth is predicated upon your belief that you matter, that you matter to the universe. But you don't. Because we are the ants. #Quote by Shaun David Hutchinson
Universe quotes by Marc Goodman
#178. Shockingly, the Deep Web is a massive five hundred times larger than the surface Web you use and search every day. While the Deep Web contains seventy-five hundred terabytes of information, the Googleable universe contains a paltry nineteen terabytes. According to a study published in Nature, Google captures no more than 16 percent of the surface Web and misses all of the Deep Web. As a result, when you search Google, you are only seeing 0.03 percent (one in three thousand pages) of the information that actually exists and would be available online #Quote by Marc Goodman
Universe quotes by Kathleen Duffy
#179. Both Christian traditionalism and current scientific naturalism foster ways of looking at the world that have the effect of "clipping the wings of hope," as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin would have put it. Hope needs a lofty horizon, one that reaches beyond personal existence, human history, and the universe itself. #Quote by Kathleen Duffy
Universe quotes by Nicolette Hugo
#180. Bound and helpless to do anything but moan, she gave in to the unraveling until she fell apart with a pleasure so intense it felt like dying, like the universe had ceased to exist because nothing could ever be this perfect again. #Quote by Nicolette Hugo
Universe quotes by Charles Bukowski
#181. Yes Yes
when God created love he didn't help most
when God created dogs He didn't help dogs
when God created plants that was average
when God created hate we had a standard utility
when God created me He created me
when God created the monkey He was asleep
when He created the giraffe He was drunk
when He created narcotics He was high
and when He created suicide He was low
when He created you lying in bed
He knew what He was doing
He was drunk and He was high
and He created the mountains and the sea and fire at the same time
He made some mistakes
but when He created you lying in bed
He came all over His Blessed Universe. #Quote by Charles Bukowski
Universe quotes by Kurt Vonnegut
#182. We are all here for no purpose, unless we can invent one. Of that I am sure. The human condition in an exploding universe would not have been altered one iota if, rather than live as I have, I had done nothing but carry a rubber ice-cream cone from closet to closet for sixty years. #Quote by Kurt Vonnegut
Universe quotes by Matthew S. McCormick
#183. 1. Myth: Without God, life has no meaning.

There are 1.2 billion Chinese who have no predominant religion, and 1 billion people in India who are predominantly Hindu. And 65% of Japan's 127 million people claim to be non-believers. It is laughable to suggest that none of these billions of people are leading meaningful lives.

2. Myth: Prayer works.

Studies have now shown that inter-cessionary prayer has no effect whatsoever of the health or well-being of the subject.

3. Myth: Atheists are immoral.

There are hundreds of millions of non-believers on the planet living normal, decent, moral lives. They love their children, care about others, obey laws, and try to keep from doing harm to others just like everyone else. In fact, in predominantly non-believing countries such as in northern Europe, measures of societal health such as life expectancy at birth, adult literacy, per capita income, education, homicide, suicide, gender equality, and political coercion are better than they are in believing societies.

4. Myth: Belief in God is compatible with science.

In the past, every supernatural or paranormal explanation of phenomena that humans believed turned out to be mistaken; science has always found a physical explanation that revealed that the supernatural view was a myth. Modern organisms evolved from lower life forms, they weren't created 6,000 years ago in the finished state. Fever is not caused by de #Quote by Matthew S. McCormick
Universe quotes by Frederick Lenz
#184. When you read Boethius and some of the Renaissance philosophers, they talk a lot about the other spheres. There's a music of the spheres. There's a music that's actually in the universe, they believed, that's out there in different dimensions. #Quote by Frederick Lenz
Universe quotes by John F. Demartini
#185. The moment you realize you already have everything you're looking for, the universe gives it to you. #Quote by John F. Demartini
Universe quotes by Sam Harris
#186. This universe is shot through with mystery. The very fact of its being, and of our own, is a mystery absolute, and the only miracle worthy of the name. The consciousness that animates us is itself central to this mystery and the ground for any experience we might wish to call 'spiritual.' No myths need be embraced for us to commune with the profundity of our circumstance. No personal God need be worshiped for us to live in awe at the beauty and immensity of creation. No tribal fictions need be rehearsed for us to realize, one fine day, that we do, in fact, love our neighbors, that our happiness is inextricable from their own, and that our interdependence demands that people everywhere be given the opportunity to flourish. #Quote by Sam Harris
Universe quotes by Wendy Francis
#187. Maybe the mess of life was the very thing she was supposed to enjoy instead of always fighting it, trying to impose order. The universe was trying to tell her something - was it, perhaps, to let go? #Quote by Wendy Francis
Universe quotes by Archimedes
#188. Many people believe that the grains of sand are infinite in multitude ... Others think that although their number is not without limit, no number can ever be named which will be greater than the number of grains of sand. But I shall try to prove to you that among the numbers which I have named there are those which exceed the number of grains in a heap of sand the size not only of the earth, but even of the universe #Quote by Archimedes
Universe quotes by Joao Magueijo
#189. Inflation is really like drugging the baby universe with speed. The supercool union of the hitherto unfriendly gods was blessed by amphetamine, and this made the universe inflate rather than just expand. The early orgy of expansion in the universe comes to an abrupt end as soon as the supercooled particle stuff finally freezes. #Quote by Joao Magueijo
Universe quotes by Douglas Coupland
#190. And the reason Luke is thinking about time and free will is because he believes that money is the closest human beings have ever come to crystallizing time and free will into a compact physical form. Cash. Cash is a time crystal. Cash allows you to multiply your will, and it allows you to speed up time. Cash is what defines us as a species. Nothing else in the universe has money. #Quote by Douglas Coupland
Universe quotes by Max Gunther
#191. The fact is that fairness is a human concept. The rest of the universe knows nothing of it. #Quote by Max Gunther
Universe quotes by Albert Camus
#192. But from what are we escaping by means of the
novel? From a reality we consider too overwhelming? Happy people read novels, too, and it is an
established fact that extreme suffering takes away the taste for reading. From another angle, the romantic
universe of the novel certainly has less substance than the other universe where people of flesh and blood
harass us without respite. #Quote by Albert Camus
Universe quotes by Georges Bataille
#193. Laughing at the universe liberated my life. I escape its weight by laughing. I refuse any intellectual translations of this laughter, since my slavery would commrnce from that point on. #Quote by Georges Bataille
Universe quotes by Blakney Francis
#194. I was Pluto, her rejected planet, but that didn't mean I could stop her from being the center of my universe. #Quote by Blakney Francis
Universe quotes by Osho
#195. Sosan is the third Zen Patriarch. Nothing much is known about him – this is as it should be, because history records only violence. History does not record silence – it cannot record it. All records are of disturbance. Whenever someone becomes really silent, he disappears from all records, he is no more a part of our madness. So it is as it should be.

Sosan remained a wandering monk his whole life. He never stayed anywhere; he was always passing, going, moving. He was a river; he was not a pond, static. He was a constant movement. That is the meaning of Buddha's wanderers: not only in the outside world but in the inside world also they should be homeless –
because whenever you make a home you become attached to it. They should remain rootless; there is no home for them except this whole universe. #Quote by Osho
Universe quotes by Fernando Pessoa
#196. Tomorrow I too - this feeling and thinking soul, the universe I am to myself - yes, tomorrow I too will be someone who no longer walks the streets, someone others will evoke with a vague: 'I wonder what's become of him?' And everything I do, everything I feel, everything I experience, will be just one less passer-by on the daily streets of some city or other. #Quote by Fernando Pessoa
Universe quotes by Suzy Kassem
#197. The price for standing up for Truth, no matter how severe, will always be less than the price our souls will be penalized for not speaking up for our conscience. There is no greater crime in the universe than silencing your conscience. #Quote by Suzy Kassem
Universe quotes by Deepak Chopra
#198. From a pure heart anything can be accomplished. If you ask what the universe is doing, it is eavesdropping on your every desire. #Quote by Deepak Chopra
Universe quotes by Paul Bogard
#199. In these countless stars, in their clusters and colors and constellations, in the "shooting" showers of blazing dust and ice, we have always found beauty. And in this beauty, the overwhelming size of the universe has seemed less ominous, earth's own beauty more incredible. If indeed the numbers and distances of the night sky are so large that they become nearly meaningless, then let us find the meaning under our feet. #Quote by Paul Bogard
Universe quotes by Harlan Ellison
#200. The only thing worth writing about is people. People. Human beings. Men and women whose individuality must be created, line by line, insight by insight. If you do not do it, the story is a failure. [ ... ] There is no nobler chore in the universe than holding up the mirror of reality and turning it slightly, so we have a new and different perception of the commonplace, the everyday, the 'normal', the obvious. People are reflected in the glass. The fantasy situation into which you thrust them is the mirror itself. And what we are shown should illuminate and alter our perception of the world around us. Failing that, you have failed totally. #Quote by Harlan Ellison
