Science Day quotes by Amos Tutuola
#1. There were two friends, one of these two friends was money borrower, he had no other work than to borrow and he was feeding on any money that he was borrowing. One day, he borrowed £1 from his friend. After a year his friend who lent him the money, asked him to refund the £1 to him, but the borrower said that he would not pay the £1 and said that he had never paid any debit since he was borrowing money and since he was born. Science Day quotes by Cassandra Clare
#2. I have wanted to do this," he said, "every moment of every hour of every day that I have been with you since the day I met you. but you know that. You must know. Don't you? #Quote by Cassandra Clare
Science Day quotes by Margaret Atwood
#3. Falling in love, we said; I fell for him. We were falling women. We believed in it, this downward motion: so lovely, like flying, and yet at the same time so dire, so extreme, so unlikely. God is love, they once said, but we reversed that, and love, like heaven, was always just around the corner. The more difficult it was to love the particular man beside us, the more we believed in Love, abstract and total. We were waiting, always, for the incarnation. That word, made flesh.
And sometimes it happened, for a time. That kind of love comes and goes and is hard to remember afterwards, like pain. You would look at the man one day and you would think, I loved you, and the tense would be past, and you would be filled with a sense of wonder, because it was such an amazing and precarious and dumb thing to have done; and you would know too why your friends had been evasive about it, at the time.
There is a good deal of comfort, now, in remembering this. #Quote by Margaret Atwood

Science Day quotes by Heinz Pagels
#5. Science is expanding, and with it our vision of the universe. although this new and constantly changing view may not always give us comfort, it does have the virtue of truth according to our most effective resources for acquiring knowledge. No philosophy, moral outlook, or religion can be inconsistent with the findings of science and hope to endure among educated people. #Quote by Heinz Pagels
Science Day quotes by B.G. Harlen
#6. Why is this," she asked, again in that dreamy tone, "so much more real than that? One's night, one's day, why is this so much more real? That I can't forget the things from the day, and I can't remember the things from the night? #Quote by B.G. Harlen
Science Day quotes by Moby
#7. I grew up obsessed with science fiction, and when I was really young, I wanted to be a scientist. #Quote by Moby
Science Day quotes by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
#8. No, Rodion Romanovitch, Nikolay doesn't come in! This is a fantastic, gloomy business, a modern case, an incident of to-day when the heart of man is troubled, when the phrase is quoted that blood 'renews,' when comfort is preached as the aim of life. Here we have bookish dreams, a heart unhinged by theories. Here we see resolution in the first stage, but resolution of a special kind: he resolved to do it like jumping over a precipice or from a bell tower and his legs shook as he went to the crime. He forgot to shut the door after him, and murdered two people for a theory. He committed the murder and couldn't take the money, and what he did manage to snatch up he hid under a stone. It wasn't enough for him to suffer agony behind the door while they battered at the door and rung the bell, no, he had to go to the empty lodging, half delirious, to recall the bell-ringing, #Quote by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Science Day quotes by Imbolo Mbue
#9. He looked out the window at the people walking on Amsterdam Avenue. None of them seemed concerned that the day might be one of his last in America. Some of them were laughing. That #Quote by Imbolo Mbue
Science Day quotes by Suki Waterhouse
#10. I bought Doc Martens when I was 13, and I wore them pretty much every day until I was 20. They stank, and my dad wouldn't even let them in the house, but I was completely in love with them. #Quote by Suki Waterhouse
Science Day quotes by Siobhan Davis
#11. The Suitors Ball is fast approaching and it's a nasty reminder that my suitor will be chosen shortly. I feel sorry for the poor unfortunate guy, whichever one of them it happens to be. #Quote by Siobhan Davis
Science Day quotes by Al Pacino
#12. When I was a younger actor, I would try to keep it serious all day. But I have found, later on, that the lighter I am about things when I'm going to do a big scene that's dramatic and takes a lot out of you, the better off I am when I come to it. #Quote by Al Pacino
Science Day quotes by Adrian Peterson
#13. It brings hope and peace of mind knowing that God gave His only begotten Son for us. I'm able to look back and know that on this day Jesus was born and gave us the opportunity to have eternal life. #Quote by Adrian Peterson
Science Day quotes by Alan Ladd
#14. I'd rather be David Ladd's father than Alan Ladd any day. #Quote by Alan Ladd
Science Day quotes by Johann Joachim Becher
#15. The chemists are a strange class of mortals, impelled by an almost insane impulse to seek their pleasures amid smoke and vapour, soot and flame, poisons and poverty; yet among all these evils I seem to live so sweetly that may I die if I were to change places with the Persian king. #Quote by Johann Joachim Becher
Science Day quotes by Amaka Imani Nkosazana
#16. People will always notice something about you. It might be the way you walk or the way you talk, or just simply your personality. Live each day in the way you want to be remembered. Live in such a way that people will be inspired by those unique qualities that you have and strive to live better lives for themselves. #Quote by Amaka Imani Nkosazana
Science Day quotes by Chapman Cohen
#17. Gods are fragile things, they may be killed by a whiff of science or a dose of common sense. They thrive on servility and shrink before independence. They feed upon worship as kings do upon flattery. That is why the cry of gods at all times is "Worship us or we perish." A dethroned monarch may retain some of his human dignity while driving a taxi for a living. But a god without his thunderbolt is a poor object. #Quote by Chapman Cohen
Science Day quotes by Candice Swanepoel
#18. My ideal Valentine's Day is spending it with someone you are in love with and for that someone to make you feel loved and appreciated. #Quote by Candice Swanepoel
Science Day quotes by Douglas Booth
#19. David Cameron was a good-looking chap in his day! #Quote by Douglas Booth
Science Day quotes by Pankaj Mishra
#20. Islam, however inadequate, was the only source of ethics and stimulus for political mobilization. And al-Afghani also presciently saw that a totally secular society- the dream of nineteenth-century rationalism- was doomed to remain a fantasy in the West as well as in the Muslim world. As he concluded in his response to Renan:
The masses do not like reason, the teachings of which are understood only by a few select minds. Science, however fine it may be, cannot completely satisfy humanity's thirst for the ideal, or the desire to soar in dark and distant regions that philosophers and scholars can neither see nor explore. #Quote by Pankaj Mishra
Science Day quotes by Edmund Burke
#21. The science of constructing a commonwealth, or renovating it, or reforming it, is, like every other experimental science, not to be taught a priori. Nor is it a short experience that can instruct us in that practical science, because the real effects of moral causes are not always immediate. #Quote by Edmund Burke
Science Day quotes by Gerald Durrell
#22. At length the Turk turned to Larry:
'You write, I believe?' he said with complete lack of interest.
Larry's eyes glittered. Mother, seeing the danger signs, rushed in quickly before he could reply.
'Yes, yes' she smiled, 'he writes away, day after day. Always tapping at the typewriter'
'I always feel that I could write superbly if I tried' remarked the Turk.
'Really?' said Mother. 'Yes, well, it's a gift I suppose, like so many things.'
'He swims well' remarked Margo, 'and he goes out terribly far'
'I have no fear' said the Turk modestly. 'I am a superb swimmer, so I have no fear. When I ride the horse, I have no fear, for I ride superbly. I can sail the boat magnificently in the typhoon without fear'
He sipped his tea delicately, regarding our awestruck faces with approval.
'You see' he went on, in case we had missed the point, 'you see, I am not a fearful man. #Quote by Gerald Durrell
Science Day quotes by Claire Messud
#23. That cheery, flimsy distraction from Death; or in a pinch Law & Order, because on some station or other, at any time of day or night, you can find it
Detective Benson! Detective Stabler! My long lost!
and no longer be alone. #Quote by Claire Messud
Science Day quotes by Joe Letteri
#24. What we did with Avatar, if you really look at it, we took things that are out there in the world every day, we just made them bigger, shinier ... But all our inspiration comes from the real world. So if you really look, you can see all those things around you, and I would just encourage people to get out and look for it. #Quote by Joe Letteri
Science Day quotes by Christian Nestell Bovee
#25. There is no sense of weariness like that which closes in a day of eager and unintermittent pursuit of pleasure. The apple is eaten, but "the core sticks in the throat." Expectation has then given way to ennui, appetite to satiety. #Quote by Christian Nestell Bovee
Science Day quotes by Beverly Jenkins
#26. Every day is a gift -- start unwrapping them. #Quote by Beverly Jenkins

Science Day quotes by George Lakoff
#28. You can't understand Twenty-first-Century Politics with an Eighteenth-Century Brain. #Quote by George Lakoff
Science Day quotes by Philip Ball
#29. ...a copy of his Ninty-five Theses, a formal declaration of his arguments against indulgences. This is the document that Luther is said to have nailed to the church door in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517. If it happened at all, it was not quite as dramatic as it sounds - this was not an uncommon way to distribute pamphlets and polemics, and the Theses, written in Latin, would not have been accessible to most of the lay townspeople. But the timing - on the eve of All Saints' Day - made the challenge auspicious, and the document was soon thereafter distributed in a German translation by a local printer. #Quote by Philip Ball
Science Day quotes by Eckhart Tolle
#30. In the late seventies, I would have lunch every day with one or two friends in the cafeteria of the graduate center at Cambridge University, where I was studying. #Quote by Eckhart Tolle
Science Day quotes by Wally Lamb
#31. I am not a smart man, particularly, but one day, at long last, I stumbled from the dark woods of my own, and my family's, and my country's past, holding in my hands these truths: that love grows from the rich loam of forgiveness; that mongrels make good dogs; that the evidence of God exists in the roundness of things. This much, at least, I've figured out. I know this much is true. #Quote by Wally Lamb
Science Day quotes by Walter Lippmann
#32. Millions of those who are watching ... can read hardly at all. Millions more can read the words but cannot understand them. Of those who can both read and understand, a good three-quarters we may assume have some part of half an hour a day to spare for the subject. To them the words so acquired are the cue for a whole train of ideas which we allow the words we read to evoke form the biggest part of the original data of our opinions. The world is vast, the situations that concern us are intricate, the messages are few, the biggest part of opinion must be constructed in the imagination. #Quote by Walter Lippmann
Science Day quotes by Lee Smolin
#33. Having begun my life in science searching for the equation beyond time, I now believe that the deepest secret of the universe is that its essence rests in how it unfolds moment by moment in time. #Quote by Lee Smolin
Science Day quotes by Freeman Dyson
#34. The world of science and the world of literature have much in common. Each is an international club, helping to tie mankind together across barriers of nationality, race and language. I have been doubly lucky, being accepted as a member of both. #Quote by Freeman Dyson
Science Day quotes by Taya Kyle
#35. Before Chris passed away, I'd volunteered to coach Angel's soccer team in our local recreational league. It was a commitment I vowed to keep. I was determined to show those little girls how to succeed on the soccer "pitch," as the field is sometimes called.
I may have gone a little overboard. I mean, how many six-year-old girls have the misfortune of being coached by the wife of a SEAL?
Day One:
"We start by running!" I shouted enthusiastically. "Everyone run around the park. Let's go."
"The soccer field, Mrs. Kyle?" asked a player.
"No! The entire complex. Come on!"
I'm guessing it was maybe five or six times as far as they'd ever run before--or maybe ten or twenty--and a good deal farther than many teams with considerably older players ran. But the girls were good sports about it. We built endurance and worked on drills, and we had fun--you never knew when the coach might grab one the of the players and twirl her around enthusiastically for doing a good job.
"I'm taking goal," I'd say when shooting practice wasn't going well. "Anyone who can hurt me gets an extra piece of candy!"
I gave out a lot of candy that afternoon.
We were a young team and a little rough at first, but we got better as we went. It was fun to watch the transition many of the girls made over the length of the season--they not only got in better shape and learned to play soccer better, but they seemed more confident as well.
I will guarantee one thing: th #Quote by Taya Kyle
