Learning quotes by Janet Crain
#1. Each store will fulfil some of your needs, but no individual store can meet all of your needs. Learning how to set realistic expectations now and in future relationships requires you to examine each of the existing stores to see what they can offer. #Quote by Janet Crain
Learning quotes by Liz Jensen
#2. Will it take the rest of my life to process what has happened? I don't know.
If Freddy were here, he would say, 'Yet', as per the rules of a playful accord we have concerning unacquired knowledge, whereby if one of us said they didn't know something, the other had to say 'Yet'. And then the other one
usually me
would provide the missing information, or we'd look it up, or just speculate. #Quote by Liz Jensen
Learning quotes by Jack Kornfield
#3. Meditation takes discipline, just like learning how to play piano. If you want to learn how to play the piano, it takes more than a few minutes a day, once a while, here and there. If you really want to learn any important skill, whether it is playing piano or meditation, it grows with perseverance, patience, and systematic training. #Quote by Jack Kornfield
Learning quotes by Sid Waddell
#4. As a kid, I was school swot, but I used to hang around the billiard halls, learning that Geordie sense of humour, mixing with low-lifes. They were the sort who'd pick your pocket and then say 'Here you are lad, here's tuppence, get yourself some chips'. I was a good rugby player, a good runner, so I fitted in at Cambridge quite easily. #Quote by Sid Waddell
Learning quotes by Dolores Huerta
#5. The thing about nonviolence is that it spreads. When you get people to participate in nonviolent action - whether it's a fast, a march, a boycott, or a picket line - people hear you, people see you, people are learning from that action. #Quote by Dolores Huerta
Learning quotes by Jennifer Beals
#6. Just when you think you know something, it gets turned around and challenged in some way. But those changes are welcome because you end up learning more. #Quote by Jennifer Beals
Learning quotes by Fred D'Aguiar
#7. Whenever I went to an historical moment that was sad or where something terrible happened, it was, for me, a learning moment, a teaching moment for those who survived. #Quote by Fred D'Aguiar
Learning quotes by Kapil Dev

Learning quotes by Genevieve Cogman
#9. Stories matter - telling them, sharing them, preserving them, changing them, learning from them, and escaping with and through them. We learn about ourselves and the world that we live in through fiction just as much as through facts. Empathy, perception and understanding are never wasted. All libraries are a gateway into other worlds, including the past - and the future. #Quote by Genevieve Cogman
Learning quotes by Jeff Foxworthy
#10. It's a weird sensation to be mad and learning at the same time. #Quote by Jeff Foxworthy
Learning quotes by Kiera Cass
#11. He rolled his eyes. "Don't talk to me like that, Eadlyn. I'm fourteen, not four. I read all the papers, and I pay attention at the Reports. I speak more languages than you, and I'm learning all the things you have without anyone making me do it. Don't act like you're better than me. I'm a prince." I sighed. "Yes, but I will be queen," I corrected, sipping my coffee. I really didn't need this right now. #Quote by Kiera Cass

#12. Trying to stop people from learning, sharing, and loving is a losing game because it means working against God and the plotline of God's universe. #Quote by Brian D. McLaren
Learning quotes by Bryant McGill
#13. Learn to resist but do not be un-moveable in your resistance. Resist like the water. #Quote by Bryant McGill
Learning quotes by Esperanza Spalding
#14. I think there's so much negative influence on children in school settings. It becomes learning by rote to pass a test. It's not contextualized. #Quote by Esperanza Spalding
Learning quotes by Gregory David Roberts
#15. Mistakes are like bad loves, the more you learn from, the more you wish they'd never happened. #Quote by Gregory David Roberts
Learning quotes by Tarun J. Tejpal
#16. There is no greater code for courtship than walking. Learning to keep in step; the opportunity to express little concerns
alarm, caution, the touch on the elbow; the blood running in the veins; the sense of movement and shared goal; the sense of just being two amid the swirl; and above all the ability to talk expansively in the open air without the anxiety of each other's gaze and close scrutiny.
Those who wish to find love should learn to walk. #Quote by Tarun J. Tejpal
Learning quotes by Thomas Lickona
#17. Character Education helps to create an environment for caring and learning in schools. #Quote by Thomas Lickona
Learning quotes by Nick Offerman
#18. Always maintain the attitude of a student. When a person thinks they have finished learning, that is when bitterness and disappointment can set in, as that person will wake up everyday wondering when someone is going to throw a parade in their honour for being so smart. #Quote by Nick Offerman
Learning quotes by Armstrong Williams
#19. The country remains dependent on oil. But as we are now learning, oil is becoming increasingly scarce. #Quote by Armstrong Williams

Learning quotes by Idries Shah

Learning quotes by Herodotus
#22. These Phoenicians who came with Cadmus and of whom the Gephyraeans were a part brought with them to Hellas, among many other kinds of learning, the alphabet, which had been unknown before this, I think, to the Greeks. As time went on the sound and the form of the letters were changed. At this time the Greeks who were settled around them were for the most part Ionians, and after being taught the letters by the Phoenicians, they used them with a few changes of form. In so doing, they gave to these characters the name of Phoenician, as was quite fair seeing that the Phoenicians had brought them into Greece.
(5-58-59) #Quote by Herodotus
Learning quotes by Iyanla Vanzant
#23. Learning to trust yourself means focusing on the good you are, the good you have, and the good you desire so that the truth can heal all error thought and allow you to see the blessing hidden in all that you have been through, gone through, and grown through. #Quote by Iyanla Vanzant
Learning quotes by Lao-Tzu
#24. The snow goose need not bathe to make itself white. Neither need you do anything but be yourself. #Quote by Lao-Tzu
Learning quotes by Stephen E. Ambrose
#25. Each man in his own way had gone through what Richard Winters experienced: a realization that doing his best was a better way of getting through the Army than hanging around with the sad excuses for soldiers they met in the recruiting depots or basic training. They wanted to make their Army time positive, a learning and maturing and challenging experience. #Quote by Stephen E. Ambrose
Learning quotes by George Q. Cannon
#26. No system of education can be perfect which does not teach the principle of righteousness and faith in God. Learning has not saved the world. It is of utmost importance that our children should, in the first place, be taught faith in God. This cannot be left out of our system of education. #Quote by George Q. Cannon
Learning quotes by Robert Burns
#27. Learn taciturnity and let that be your motto! #Quote by Robert Burns
Learning quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
#28. The first service one owes to others in a community involves listening to them. Just as our love for God begins with listening to God's Word, the beginning of love for others is learning to listen to them. God's love for us is shown by the fact that God not only gives God's Word, but also lends us God's ear.

We do God's work for our brothers and sisters when we learn to listen to them.

So often Christians, especially preachers, think that their only service is always to have to 'offer' something when they are together with other people.

They forget that listening can be a greater service…Christians who can no longer listen to one another will soon no longer be listening to God either. #Quote by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Learning quotes by Michael A. Mullett
#29. Humanists were people who wanted to return to ideas found in old Greek and Latin writing of Greece and Rome, written many centuries earlier. Christian Humanists also wanted to get back to these ideas, but they were mainly concerned with learning about the early Christian Church, before it had become involved with money-making and superstition. They wanted to read the books of the early Church, especially the gospels of Christ, in the original language of Greek, so that they would know exactly what the writings meant. The leader of the Christian Humanists was Desiderius Erasmus (1466-1536), who attacked superstitions in the Catholic Church in his writing. #Quote by Michael A. Mullett
Learning quotes by Will Rogers
#30. It rained in the Middle West. Farmers are learning that the relief they get from the sky beats what they get from Washington. #Quote by Will Rogers
Learning quotes by Philip K. Dick
#31. Masochism is more widespread than we realize because it takes an attenuated form. The basic dynamism is as follows: a human being sees something bad which is coming as inevitable. There is no way he can halt the process; he is helpess. This sense of helplessness generates a need to gain some control over the impending pain -- any kind of control will do. This makes sense; the subjective feeling of helplessness is more painful than the impending misery. So the person seizes control over the situation in the only way open to him: he connives to bring on the impending misery; he hastens it. This activity on his part promotes the false impression that he enjoys pain. Not so. It is simply that he cannot any longer endure the helplessness or the supposed helplessness. But in the process of gaining control over the inevitable misery he becomes, automatically, anhedonic. Anhedonia sets in stealthily. Over the years it takes control of him. For example, he learns to defer gratification; this is a step in the dismal process of anhedonia. In learning to defer he gratification he experiences a sense of self-mastery; he has become stoic, disciplined; he does not give way to impulse. He has "control". Control over himself in terms of his impulses and control over the external situation. He is a controlled and controlling person. Pretty soon he has branched out and is controlling other people, as part of the situation. He becomes a manipulator. Of course, he is not conciousily aware of this #Quote by Philip K. Dick

Learning quotes by Louise L. Hay

Learning quotes by Sherman Alexie
#40. Every book is a mystery. And if you read all the books ever written, it's like you've read one giant mystery. And no matter how much you learn, you just keep on learning there is so much more you need to learn. #Quote by Sherman Alexie
Learning quotes by Iain Pears
#41. It is easy to imagine a world where not only can few people read, few need to or want to. Serious reading can become the preserve of a s mall group of specialists, just as shoe-making or farming is for us. Think how much time would be saved. We send children to school and they spend most of their time learning to read and then, when they leave, they never pick up another book for the rest of their lives. Reading is only important if there is something worthwhile to read. Most of it is ephemeral. That means an oral culture of tales told and remembered. People can be immensely sophisticated in thought and understanding without much writing. #Quote by Iain Pears
Learning quotes by Seanan McGuire
#42. Only by learning about the journeys of others can we truly understand our own #Quote by Seanan McGuire

"If you're only now learning that," Kaladin said, "then you haven't been paying attention. #Quote by Brandon Sanderson
Learning quotes by H.L. Mencken
#45. I know a good many men of great learning-that is, men born with an extraordinary eagerness and capacity to acquire knowledge. One and all, they tell me that they can't recall learning anything of any value in school. All that schoolmasters managed to accomplish with them was to test and determine the amount of knowledge that they had already acquired independently-and not infrequently the determination was made clumsily and inaccurately. #Quote by H.L. Mencken
Learning quotes by Cynthia Lewis
#46. Believing in the Tooth Fairy is easier than trying to figure out how else the money gets under your pillow. #Quote by Cynthia Lewis
Learning quotes by John Ruskin
#47. Education does not mean teaching people what they do not know. It means teaching them to behave as they do not behave. #Quote by John Ruskin
Learning quotes by Mechai Viravaidya
#48. When you start learning how to give when you're young, when you get older it is second nature. Just like stealing. Start young and you keep on stealing forever. Ask my politicians. #Quote by Mechai Viravaidya
Learning quotes by Ian Mortimer
#49. W. H. Auden once suggested that to understand your own country you need to have lived in at least two others. One can say something similar for periods of time: to understand your own century you need to have come to terms with at least two others. The key to learning something about the past might be a ruin or an archive but the means whereby we may understand it is
and always will be
ourselves. #Quote by Ian Mortimer
Learning quotes by Aldous Huxley
#50. You got rid of them. Yes, that's just like you. Getting rid of everything unpleasant instead of learning to put up with it. Whether 'tis better in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them… But you don't do either. Neither suffer nor oppose. You just abolish the slings and arrows. It's too easy. #Quote by Aldous Huxley
Learning quotes by Frederick Lenz
#51. The process is learning to turn your back on everything and everyone and face that immensity. And only after you've done that can you then turn around and face the world again with new, clear eyes. #Quote by Frederick Lenz
Learning quotes by Philip Dormer Stanhope

Learning quotes by M. Ward
#53. When I first started making music, it was learning other people's songs and putting them onto four-track. Like Beatles songs and stuff. When I started writing, I used the singing side of the production as a vehicle for melody and lyrical ideas. #Quote by M. Ward
Learning quotes by Lemony Snicket

Learning quotes by Carolina Cody Aldaz
#59. Mortal has not been a habitable place for a long time. We have been trying to survive patching it but one day it will break completely. Twinmortal is the future for all of us. You will achieve that future for us by learning has much as you can. #Quote by Carolina Cody Aldaz
Learning quotes by Nat Turner

of learning the alphabet. #Quote by Nat Turner
Learning quotes by Caroline Adams Miller
#61. Your life is a sacred journey. It is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path ... exactly where you are meant to be right now ... And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love. #Quote by Caroline Adams Miller
Learning quotes by Ronald Carter
#62. THE METAPHYSICAL POETS

Had we but world enough, and time,
This coyness, lady, were no crime

(Andrew Marvell, To His Coy Mistress)

While theatre was the most public literary form of the period, poetry tended to be more personal, more private. Indeed, it was often published for only a limited circle of readers. This was true of Shakespeare's sonnets, as we have seen, and even more so for the Metaphysical poets, whose works were published mostly after their deaths. John Donne and George Herbert are the most significant of these poets.
The term 'Metaphysical' was used to describe their work by the eighteenth-century critic, Samuel Johnson. He intended the adjective to be pejorative. He attacked the poets' lack of feeling, their learning, and the surprising range of images and comparisons they used. Donne and Herbert were certainly very innovative poets, but the term 'Metaphysical' is only a label, which is now used to describe the modern impact of their writing. After three centuries of neglect and disdain, the Metaphysical poets have come to be very highly regarded and have been influential in recent British poetry and criticism. They used contemporary scientific discoveries and theories, the topical debates on humanism, faith, and eternity, colloquial speech-based rhythms, and innovative verse forms, to examine the relationship between the individual, his God, and the universe. Their 'conceits', metaphors and images, paradoxes and inte #Quote by Ronald Carter
Learning quotes by Sugata Mitra
#63. The best schools tend to have the best teachers, not to mention parents who supervise homework, so there is less need for self-organised learning. But where a child comes from a less supportive home environment, where there are family tensions perhaps, their schoolwork can suffer. They need to be taught to think and study for themselves. #Quote by Sugata Mitra
Learning quotes by Tracy Kidder
#64. The hardest thing was learning to write. I was 13, and the only writing I had done was for Social Studies. It consisted of copying passages right out of the encyclopedia. #Quote by Tracy Kidder
Learning quotes by Jessica Simpson
#65. I've done four movies. I've done seven albums. So I feel like music has always been a part of my life; acting is something I'm learning. #Quote by Jessica Simpson
Learning quotes by Stone Gossard
#66. A significant event for me was learning Hank Williams, reconnecting with his music's simplicity, which inspired me to inhabit the same territory. It's different, because I grew up on Led Zeppelin, The Stooges and punk, so in that sense I'm mutating country and folk more than a few degrees. #Quote by Stone Gossard
Learning quotes by Michel De Montaigne
#67. Would I fortify myself against the fear of death, it must be at the expense of Seneca: would I extract consolation for myself or my friend, I must borrow it from Cicero. I might have found it in myself, had I been trained to make use of my own reason. I do not like this relative and mendicant understanding; for though we could become learned by other men's learning, a man can never be wise but by his own wisdom. #Quote by Michel De Montaigne
Learning quotes by Josh Langley
#68. Free yourself, unwind, unravel. There's no right or wrong way, just experience. Learning, understanding. #Quote by Josh Langley
Learning quotes by Lenny Bruce
#69. Children ought to watch pornographic movies: it's healthier than learning about sex from Hollywood. #Quote by Lenny Bruce
Learning quotes by Paul Simon
#70. When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all #Quote by Paul Simon
Learning quotes by Kahlil Gibran
#71. Once there lived in the ancient city of Afkar two learned men who hated and belittled each other's learning. For one of them denied the existence of the gods and the other was a believer.
One day the two met in the market-place, and amidst their followers they began to dispute and to argue about the existence or the non-existence of the gods. And after hours of contention they parted.
That evening the unbeliever went to the temple and prostrated himself before the altar and prayed the gods to forgive his wayward past.
And the same hour the other learned man, he who had upheld the gods, burned his sacred books. For he had become an unbeliever. #Quote by Kahlil Gibran
Learning quotes by Carlos Fuentes
#72. Reading, writing, teaching, learning, are all activities aimed at introducing civilizations to each other. #Quote by Carlos Fuentes
Learning quotes by Gary Haynes
#73. The old man walked over to his sandalwood bookshelves. He couldn't decide whether to read Balzac or Voltaire. Clotilde de Lusignan or Micromégas. His forefinger hovered over both the hardback books before he plumped instead for the eroticism of Goethe's Roman Elegies. The old man had amassed a lifetime of learning. The killings aside, he led an oddly monastic life. #Quote by Gary Haynes

Learning quotes by Liz Wiseman
#76. Certainty is one of the weakest positions in life. Curiosity is one of the most powerful. Certainty prohibits learning, curiosity fuels change. #Quote by Liz Wiseman
Learning quotes by Ellen Kaplan
#77. A Puritan twist in our nature makes us think that anything good for us must be twice as good if it's hard to swallow. Learning Greek and Latin used to play the role of character builder, since they were considered to be as exhausting and unrewarding as digging a trench in the morning and filling it up in the afternoon. It was what made a man, or a woman -- or more likely a robot -- of you. Now math serves that purpose in many schools: your task is to try to follow rules that make sense, perhaps, to some higher beings; and in the end to accept your failure with humbled pride. As you limp off with your aching mind and bruised soul, you know that nothing in later life will ever be as difficult.

What a perverse fate for one of our kind's greatest triumphs! Think how absurd it would be were music treated this way (for math and music are both excursions into sensuous structure): suffer through playing your scales, and when you're an adult you'll never have to listen to music again. And this is mathematics we're talking about, the language in which, Galileo said, the Book of the World is written. This is mathematics, which reaches down into our deepest intuitions and outward toward the nature of the universe -- mathematics, which explains the atoms as well as the stars in their courses, and lets us see into the ways that rivers and arteries branch. For mathematics itself is the study of connections: how things ideally must and, in fact, do sort together -- beyond, around, #Quote by Ellen Kaplan
Learning quotes by Fabrice Grinda
#78. Learn computer science. It's extraordinarily helpful. I like recommending learning economics as well so they think in terms of business, they have rational frameworks for looking at the world, but yeah, computer science is an amazing way to get into, even if you want to be CEO, having a tech background is helpful. #Quote by Fabrice Grinda
Learning quotes by Jenna Ushkowitz
#79. I speak about family and adoption because it 100% changed my life and who I am. It definitely played a very large role into just learning how to be grateful for what you have and being fulfilled in a way that a lot of adopted kids don't feel. #Quote by Jenna Ushkowitz
Learning quotes by Warren Bennis
#80. Learning in a face-to-face human community, as humans have evolved to do over hundreds of thousands of years, may always be the ideal - especially in an endeavor that is as relationship-driven as business. #Quote by Warren Bennis
Learning quotes by Diodorus Siculus
#81. Physically the Celts are terrifying in appearance, with deep sounding and very harsh voices. In conversation they use few words and speak in riddles, for the most part hinting at things and leaving a great deal to be understood. They frequently exaggerate with the aim of extolling themselves and diminishing the status of others. They are boasters and threateners and given to bombastic self-dramatization, and yet they are quick of mind and with good natural ability for learning. #Quote by Diodorus Siculus
Learning quotes by Greg Proops
#82. Oh, no! I haven't lost hope at all! Look, we're all here–we're all having a good time on Sunday night! I just read you a lot of depressing shit like that and talk about these things because you have to think about them sometimes. I haven't lost hope at all. There's going to be abortion; there's going to be health care; there's going to be medical marijuana; there's going to be peace in the world; there's going to be homosexual marriage: all this is going to happen, because all the generation that hates it and is against it and is fervent about it is going to die. I may not get to see it, but . . . The people who are young right now don't care about any of those things: they care about technology; they care about eating; they care about learning. They're curious; they want to find out things; they want the world to be bigger; they want to know about other people in other places; they want to inform themselves and use analytical thinking; they don't trust the traditional media sources that we've all been poisoned to fucking listen to like the television and the newspapers and all the shit that comes up on the Internet: they learn to fucking discern because they have to pick out pieces of information all the time. So, I have nothing but fucking hope for the world. #Quote by Greg Proops
Learning quotes by Joseph Chilton Pearce
#83. The parent knows that the child cannot be artificially motivated to learn; they know that he is already motivated by the strongest driving force on earth: his inner intent. #Quote by Joseph Chilton Pearce
Learning quotes by Nick Stone
#84. Learning something new means you have to abandon, for a little while at least, the familiar and comforting. I happen to like this feeling. I remind myself that tomorrow, I will be someone who didn't exist yesterday. #Quote by Nick Stone
Learning quotes by Chloe Grace Moretz
#85. My mom was always like, "If I know that my kid is having fun, she's gonna do whatever she wants. Whether that's gymnastics, learning the car, acting or just being a normal kid, she's gonna do what makes her happy." That's how I've always lived my life. #Quote by Chloe Grace Moretz
Learning quotes by Kurt Cobain
#86. We were just amazed we were putting out a record. We were, and are, still learning. But we've never cared much for professionalism as long as the energy was there. Like our live shows: We're out of tune and use a lot of feedback. That's not on purpose or because we don't care, we're just musically and rhythmically retarded and we play so hard that we can't tune our guitars fast enough. #Quote by Kurt Cobain
Learning quotes by Anita Moorjani
#87. Transform your world by transforming your internal state. Start by learning to let go of negative self judgment, and replace it with positive and loving thoughts about yourself. Be kind to yourself, and watch your external world change. #Quote by Anita Moorjani
Learning quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
#88. Essential acts to master for self realisation;
Master the act of learning.
Master the act of writing.
Master the act of reading. #Quote by Lailah Gifty Akita
Learning quotes by Jiddu Krishnamurti
#89. Knowledge about yourself binds, weighs, ties you down; there is no freedom to move, and you act and move within the limits of thatknowledge. Learning about yourself is never the same as accumulating knowledge about yourself. Learning is active present and knowledge is the past; if you are learning to accumulate, it ceases to be learning; knowledge is static, more can be added to it or taken away from it, but learning is active, nothing can be added or taken away from it for there is no accumulation at any time. #Quote by Jiddu Krishnamurti
Learning quotes by E. M. Forster
#90. But I have seen my obstacles: trivialities, learning and poetry. This last needs explaining: the old artist's readiness to dissolve characters into a haze. Characters cannot come alive and fight and guide the world unless the novelist wants them to remain characters. #Quote by E. M. Forster
Learning quotes by Jorge Posada
#91. It's good to see a kid that
young learning how to pitch. He's tough. #Quote by Jorge Posada
Learning quotes by Starhawk
#92. The witches, the wise women, and the healers were also always the counselors. It's a whole other tradition of knowledge and learning that has been suppressed because it had political implications. #Quote by Starhawk
Learning quotes by Ted Agon
#93. Questions are the natural agents of curiosity. To limit question is unnatural, against nature. #Quote by Ted Agon
Learning quotes by Russell M. Nelson
#94. Education is yours to obtain. No one else can gain it for you. Wherever you are, develop a deep desire to learn. For us as Latter-day Saints, gaining an education is not just a privilege; it is a religious responsibility. "The glory of God is intelligence." Indeed, our education is for the eternities. #Quote by Russell M. Nelson
Learning quotes by Robin Hobb
#95. Leave that. Leave all that and join us here. There is no loneliness, no separation at all. No aching bones, no worn-out bodies. It's not what they told us, Fitz! All those warnings and dire predictions . . . faugh! The world will go on without us just as well as it did with us. Just let go.

I'm holding you tight. Keeping you part of me. It's like learning to swim. You can't find out how until you're all the way into the water. Stop clinging to the bank, boy. You only tear apart when you try to hold onto the shore. #Quote by Robin Hobb
Learning quotes by Marcia Conner
#96. In what is known as the 70/20/10 learning concept, Robert Eichinger and Michael Lombardo, in collaboration with Morgan McCall of the Center for Creative Leadership, explain that 70 percent of learning and development takes place from real-life and on-the-job experiences, tasks, and problem solving; 20 percent of the time development comes from other people through informal or formal feedback, mentoring, or coaching; and 10 percent of learning and development comes from formal training. #Quote by Marcia Conner
Learning quotes by William Blake
#97. Rhetoric completes the tools of learning. Dialectic zeros in on the logic of things, of particular systems of thought or subjects. Rhetoric takes the next grand step and brings all these subjects together into one whole. #Quote by William Blake

Learning quotes by Meghan Daum
#100. Maybe learning how to be out in the big world isn't the epic journey everyone thinks it is. Maybe that's actually the easy part. The hard part is what's right in front of you. The hard part is learning how to hold the title to your very existence, to own not only property, but also your life. #Quote by Meghan Daum
Learning quotes by Chris Paul
#101. We showed why road games have been tough for us throughout this year. That's where we've got to get better. It's a learning experience. #Quote by Chris Paul
Learning quotes by Richard McKenna
#102. My early book learning came to me as naturally as the seasons in ... the little town in which I grew up. ... Quite early I began to find a special charm in an unpeopled world ... of lava rock and sagebrush desert. ... I was often more purely happy at such times than I think I have ever been since. #Quote by Richard McKenna
Learning quotes by Zig Ziglar

Learning quotes by C. JoyBell C.
#104. Our parents can show us a lot of things: they can show us how we are to be and what things we ought to strive for, or they can show us how not to be and what things we ought to stray from, then you may have the kind of parents that show you all the things about you that you want to get rid of and you realize those traits aren't yours at all but are merely your parents' marks that have rubbed off onto you. #Quote by C. JoyBell C.

Learning quotes by Tor Norretranders
#108. Such compression of large amounts of information into a few exformation-rich macrostates with small quantities of nominal information are not only intelligent: they are very beautiful: yes, even sexy. Seing a jumble of confused data and shreds of rote learning compressed into a concise, clear message can be a real turn-on. #Quote by Tor Norretranders
Learning quotes by David Nicholls
#109. I worry sometimes that I'm a bit moralistic; always writing about men who are learning to grow up, not be so self-absorbed, selfish or badly behaved. I wonder if that's dull and liberal and wimpy? I should probably write something that celebrates wickedness. #Quote by David Nicholls

Learning quotes by Oswald Chambers
#112. There are stages in life when there is no storm, no crisis, when we do our human best; it is when a crisis arises that we instantly reveal upon whom we rely. If we have been learning to worship God and to trust Him, the crisis will reveal that we will go to the breaking point and not break in our confidence in Him. #Quote by Oswald Chambers
Learning quotes by Marian Wright Edelman

Learning quotes by Cath Crowley
#115. Get. Up,' George says, gently shoving me with her knee, which is her version of a hug. I love my sister, but, along with the rest of the world, I don't really understand her and it'd be true to say I fear her, just slightly.

She's seventeen, starting Year 12 this year. She likes learning but she hates her school. She got a scholarship to a private one on the other side of the river in Year 7 and Mum makes her stay there even though she'd rather go to Gracetown High.

She wears a huge amount of black, mostly t-shirts with things like Read, Motherfuckers on the front. Sometimes I think she likes post-apocalyptic fiction so much because she's genuinely happy at the thought that the world might end.

'Is the plan to get up sometime soon?' she asks, and I tell her no, that is not the plan. I explain the plan to her, which is basically to wait, horizontally, for life to improve. #Quote by Cath Crowley
Learning quotes by Sidin Vadukut
#116. each year India produces thousands upon thousands of eighteen-year olds who have little to no instructed idea of the last sixty years of Indian history. They have no idea if or how those five-year plans worked. They have no idea if or how the Non-Aligned Movement worked. They have no idea about the numerous wars India has fought against Pakistan or China. They have no idea, for instance, of what many people call the greatest threat to India's internal security: the Naxal movement. What created this Naxal movement? And why is the movement popular where it is? Our youth doesn't know. #Quote by Sidin Vadukut
Learning quotes by Chris Corrigan
#117. I'm a firm believer that to really understand a business takes years, not months. As an investment analyst you think you understand a business from the outside, but the reality is that, once you are inside, you can go on learning for five or ten years. #Quote by Chris Corrigan

Learning quotes by Sheila Heen
#120. We each have two human needs: To learn and grow & to be respected, accepted and loved the way you are. Even though feedback facilitates learning and growth, it conflicts with our need to feel respected. This is a key reason we resist feedback. #Quote by Sheila Heen

Learning quotes by Stephanie Pace Marshall
#124. The nature of schooling as we know it has become the unquestioned answer to educating our children. It is not. Knowing what we now know, we can no longer do what we now do. It is time to reconnect our children and our systems to their abundant learning potentials and reengage them in the joy of learning. #Quote by Stephanie Pace Marshall
Learning quotes by Viswanathan Anand
#125. For me, chess is not a profession, it is a way of life, a passion. People may feel that I have conquered the peak and will not have to struggle. Financially, perhaps that is true; but as far as chess goes, I'm still learning a lot! #Quote by Viswanathan Anand

Learning quotes by Lewis Grassic Gibbon
#131. So that was Chris and her reading and schooling, two Chrisses there were that fought for her heart and tormented her. You hated the land and the coarse speak of the folk and learning was brave and fine one day; and the next you'd waken with the peewits crying across the hills, deep and deep, crying in the heart of you and the smell of the earth in your face, almost you'd cry for that, the beauty of it and the sweetness of the Scottish land and skies. #Quote by Lewis Grassic Gibbon

#133. FORBIDDEN
Pain without learning is forbidden,
waking up one day not knowing what to do,
being afraid of your memories.

It is forbidden not to smile at problems,
not to fight for what you want,
to abandon all because of fears,
not to realize your dreams.

It is forbidden not to show your love,
to be ashamed of your tears,
to not laugh with children,
to make someone else pay your debts, bad humor.

It is forbidden to forget your friends,
to not try to understand why they live far away,
to treat people as disposable,
to call them only when you need them.

It is forbidden to not be yourself in front of others,
pretending around people you don't care about,
trying to be funny just so you'll be remembered,
to forget about all the people who love you.

It is forbidden not to do things for yourself,
to be afraid of life and its commitments,
to not to live each day as if it were your last.

It forbidden to take someone out without having fun,
to forget their eyes, their laugh,
to not respect love even if it is past,
just because your paths have stopped crossing,
to forget your past and only live in the moment.

It is forbidden not to try to understand people,
to think that other's lives are worth more than yours,
to not know that each one of us has our own way and our own happiness.

Learning quotes by Kazuo Ishiguro
#134. But tell me, Taro, don't you worry at times we might be a little too hasty in following the Americans? I would be the first to agree many of the old ways must now be erased for ever, but don't you think sometimes some good things are being thrown out with the bad? Indeed, sometimes Japan has come to look like a small child learning from a strange adult. #Quote by Kazuo Ishiguro

Learning quotes by Kelly Ripa
#139. There's no real manual on being a parent. There's no real manual on being a wife. I keep reminding myself, My mother did all this, only she never got to leave the house. OK, I can do this. We're all learning on our own learning curve. #Quote by Kelly Ripa

#147. If one is not oneself a sage or saint, the best thing one can do is to study the words of those who were. #Quote by Aldous Huxley
Learning quotes by Ivan Illich
#148. Creative, exploratory learning requires peers currently puzzled about the same terms or problems. Large universities make the futile attempt to match them by multiplying their courses, and they generally fail since they are bound to curriculum, course structure, and bureaucratic administration. In schools, including universities, most resources are spent to purchase the time and motivation of a limited number of people to take up predetermined problems in a ritually defined setting. The most radical alternative to school would be a network or service which gave each man the same opportunity to share his current concern with others motivated by the same concern. #Quote by Ivan Illich
Learning quotes by Vy Higginsen

Learning quotes by Abigail George
#151. Like water our ideals for writing what seems at first to be a calling to pen a masterpiece, it at first can be pure, fluid even (words can come easily) but we also have to learn to work with what our eyes glaze over as weak substitutes, words that we think have no substance to what we are learning towards. What is every poet's intention? Their intention is to forge, nullify, create, defend, fill the reader with the awe and inspiration that every poet themselves craves. They want to carve a name for themselves in the annals of history, leave a not so quiet legacy behind. Poets want immortality or rather they want their words to become immortal. Perhaps even Marlowe and Shakespeare had discussions about this. #Quote by Abigail George
Learning quotes by Thomas A Kempis
#152. The more you know and the better you understand, the more severely will you be judged, unless
your life is also the more holy. Do not be proud, therefore, because of your learning or skill. Rather, fear because of the talent given you. If you think you know many things and understand them well enough, realize at the same time that there is much you do not know. Hence, do not affect wisdom, but admit your ignorance. Why prefer yourself to anyone else when many are more learned, more cultured than you? #Quote by Thomas A Kempis
Learning quotes by H.L. Mencken
#153. The psychologists and the metaphysicians wrangle endlessly over the nature of the thinking process in man, but no matter how violently they differ otherwise they all agree that it has little to do with logic and is not much conditioned by overt facts. #Quote by H.L. Mencken
Learning quotes by Michael Morell
#154. One great lesson from history we need to keep on re-learning. It is that sometimes your adversaries tell you exactly what they're going to do. How many times did [Osama] bin Laden say prior to 9/11 that he was coming after the U.S.? ISIS made clear that when they established their caliphate in Iraq and Syria, they were coming after the United States too. #Quote by Michael Morell
Learning quotes by Calvin Coolidge
#155. There have been great men with little of what we call education. There have been many small men with a great deal of learning. There has never been a great people who did not possess great learning. #Quote by Calvin Coolidge
Learning quotes by Charlotte Eriksson
#156. Art is supposed to reflect your journey through real life. Your discovery of your character in solitude and around other people, the moments of clarity when you feel loved and the moment when your heart breaks so much that you can hear it crack. When you run careless and free on open fields and when you're struggling on your way home on the bus. This is what makes you a real artist. Experiences, moments, stories. Falling recklessly in love, losing someone you love and then learning to belong to yourself again. Going to new places, meeting new people, driving in the middle of the night on empty streets. Going to the ocean and staying there until 6 a.m, smoking cigarettes and talking about roses and butterflies. These are the things that will give you something worth writing about, worth singing about, worth creating art around. #Quote by Charlotte Eriksson
Learning quotes by Isaac Asimov
#157. Self-education is, I firmly believe, the only kind of education there is. #Quote by Isaac Asimov
Learning quotes by Karen Bohlin
#158. It is a mistake to tell students that their classroom is a democracy- it cannot and never will be. But children need to learn how to participate in a community and to prepare themselves for democratic citizenship. #Quote by Karen Bohlin
Learning quotes by Ricky Martin
#159. From the day we are born until the day we die, we progress on a path of learning, in which every decision we make or fail to make becomes a part of our personal growth. There is this karmic realm where you have to pass through the challenges that life gives you to liberate yourself from that which weighs you down, preventing you from reaching divinity. We all progress down a spiritual path that offers us opportunities to learn - and even tragedy has its meaning. #Quote by Ricky Martin
Learning quotes by M. Scott Peck
#160. Parents who are unwilling to risk the suffering of changing and growing and learning from their children are choosing a path of senility - whether they know it or not - and their children and the world will leave them far behind. Learning from their children is the best opportunity most people have to assure themselves of a meaningful old age. Sadly, most do not take this opportunity. The Risk of Confrontation The final and possibly the greatest risk of love is the risk of exercising power with humility. #Quote by M. Scott Peck
Learning quotes by Alison Hawthorne Deming
#161. Teachers have had a great effect on me as a child. I've always loved school and had a great appetite for learning. I cried when it was time to go back home and tried to jump from my mother's moving car to run back there. #Quote by Alison Hawthorne Deming

Learning quotes by Emily Mortimer
#164. I'm still shy - I'm no good at my children's parent-teacher conferences, and I'm slowly learning how to ask for what I want. But I now know that I have a reserve of courage to draw upon when I really need it. There's nothing that I'm too scared to have a go at. #Quote by Emily Mortimer

Learning quotes by Michael Ellsberg
#167. Learning is available at the library for free; under a tree with a dog-eared paperback; at a job with a boss who gives you responsibility and mentorship; while traveling; while leading a cause, movement, or charity; while writing a novel or composing a poem or crafting a song; while interning, apprenticing, or volunteering; while playing a sport or immersing yourself in a language; while starting a business; and now, while watching a TED talk or taking a Khan Academy class ... #Quote by Michael Ellsberg
Learning quotes by Chico Kidd
#168. Still men be clever and in an hundred centuries or more, perchance will have found a way to journey thither; when that they have discovered and understood all things on the earth. What will a man be like in the xxvii century, or even the xx? Very like unto us, I do expect; I do not think that man's nature shall change; nor do I anticipate that he will be the wiser than we, for all his learning, for 'tis a part of that nature which is ours that we do not heed the lessons of history: neither our own, nor the world's. #Quote by Chico Kidd
Learning quotes by E.B. White
#169. The mind travels faster than the pen; consequently, writing becomes a question of learning to make occasional wing shots, bringing down the bird of thought as it flashes by. A writer is a gunner, sometimes waiting in the blind for something to come in, sometimes roaming the countryside hoping to scare something up. #Quote by E.B. White
Learning quotes by Karen Thompson Walker

Learning quotes by John N. Demos
#173. In 1989, Eugene Peniston and Paul Kulkosky used a specific neurofeedback protocol for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They facilitated twilight states of learning by rewarding both alpha and theta. Their protocol has come to be called deep-states training (Robbins, 2000a). Guided visualizations and skin temperature (ST) training were also part of the protocol design. The first landmark study included a small population of Vietnam veterans. Two years later Peniston and Kulkosky studied the effect of neurofeedback training with veterans who had dual diagnoses of alcoholism and PTSD. Both studies had positive outcomes (Peniston & Kulkosky, 1999). They #Quote by John N. Demos
Learning quotes by Susan J. Elliott
#174. All my life I had hated uncertainty and looked for someone to bring me security. All my life I had looked for someone to love me into being normal. Now I was learning that I had to make my own certainty, and discover and develop my own normalcy. #Quote by Susan J. Elliott
Learning quotes by Kate Winslet
#175. If you're not still learning and growing as an actor, then you have no backbone and no career #Quote by Kate Winslet
Learning quotes by Rosaria Champagne Butterfield
#176. Apart from Christ, we cannot stand against our own hearts. The verses above presume that we will struggle with sin, but they warn us not to declare any sin a "sanctifiable" character quality, even if through it we may learn valuable lessons about life. Learning lessons is not God's first priority for his children. Transformed character is. I learned here that God may, in his providence, bring good from my past, but the good that comes is not because of the sin, but in spite of it. It is very tempting to see "good" in those things that tempt us to sin or lead us to sin because then we don't seem nearly as corrupt as Original Sin renders us. According to God, sinful temptations are inclinations to do something or become something that cost Jesus his life for my sake. We are not to try to ransom it on our own terms. Suggesting that our sin is good or produces good is tantamount to calling cancer good health. #Quote by Rosaria Champagne Butterfield
Learning quotes by Ian Jukes

Learning quotes by Susan Mann
#180. Instead of being the 'font of all knowledge,' teachers are required to be effective facilitators of student learning both within and outside the classroom at any time. #Quote by Susan Mann
Learning quotes by Olivier Magny
#181. Just like literature, wine takes time to learn. Before having access to the emotion of a stunning poem or to the vigor of a captivating novel, we all had to go through a long initiation. First, we need to learn the alphabet, the sound of each letter. In wine, that would be learning about the grapes and their characteristics. Then, once we master our letters, we need to learn the arrangements of letters, the pronunciation, the grammar, the structure of sentences. Now we can read. In wine, that would be the stage when we start noticing differences between two reds. You no longer drink wine: you start drinking this wine. #Quote by Olivier Magny
Learning quotes by Mary Kingsley
#182. The grim, grand African forests are like a great library, in which, so far, I can do little more than look at the pictures, although I am now busily learning the alphabet of their language, so that I may some day read what these pictures mean. #Quote by Mary Kingsley
Learning quotes by Czeslaw Milosz

Learning quotes by Bessel A. Van Der Kolk
#184. The challenge of recovery is to reestablish ownership of your body and your mind - of your self. This means feeling free to know what you know and to feel what you feel without becoming overwhelmed, enraged, ashamed, or collapsed. For most people this involves (1) finding a way to become calm and focused, (2) learning to maintain that calm in response to images, thoughts, sounds, or physical sensations that remind you of the past, (3) finding a way to be fully alive in the present and engaged with the people around you, (4) not having to keep secrets from yourself, including secrets about the ways that you have managed to survive. #Quote by Bessel A. Van Der Kolk

Learning quotes by Antonin Scalia

Learning quotes by Delia Owens
#187. She could read anything now, he said, and once you can read anything you can learn everything. It was up to her. "Nobody's come close to filling their brains," he said. "We're all like giraffes not using their necks to reach the higher leaves. #Quote by Delia Owens
Learning quotes by Hardeep Singh Kohli
#188. To reduce a library to simple architecture, bricks and mortar is a mistake. Similarly, to suggest a library is defined by the books on the shelf is erroneous. Libraries are very special spaces, spaces where people come together in separate but joint pursuits of knowledge, of learning. Libraries are the heartbeats of communities. #Quote by Hardeep Singh Kohli

Learning quotes by Nick Hornby
#196. It didn't help that I was never allowed to study anything remotely contemporary until the last year of university: there was never any sense of that leading to this. If anything, my education gave me the opposite impression, of an end to cultural history round about the time that Forster wrote A Passage to India. The quickest way to kill all love for the classics, I can see now, is to tell young people that nothing else maters, because then all they can do is look at them in a museum of literature, through glass cases. Don't touch! And don't think for a moment that they want to live in the same world as you! And so a lot of adult life
if your hunger and curiosity haven't been squelched by your education
is learning to join up the dots that you didn't even know were there. #Quote by Nick Hornby
Learning quotes by Batuhan Ibal
#197. Ignorance is a bliss. One does not simply believe everything they see on the Internet. If an individual has full swag control and mastery of the deception of swag, one could have easily seen through this 'troll'. This is why learning the basic 4 swag principles and mastering them is extremely necessary. Basically, one must AT least master the 4 elements of swag in order to see through deception and perceive where the swag count energy is being emitted from. this state of mind is not common, but it is essential for right thinking , where it is absent, discussion is adapted to become worse than useless.
