Islam quotes by Elie Wiesel
#1. There is a coalition of anti-Semitism today, the extreme left, the extreme right and in the middle the huge corpus of Islam. I'm worried, I go around with a very heavy heart. #Quote by Elie Wiesel
Islam quotes by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
#2. When people say that the values of Islam are compassion, tolerance, and freedom, I look at reality, at real cultures and governments, and I see that it simply isn't so. People in the West swallow this sort of thing because they have learned not to examine the religions or cultures of minorities too critically, for fear of being called racist. It fascinates them that I am not afraid to do so. #Quote by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Islam quotes by Daniel Pipes
#3. My career divides in two: before and after 9/11. In the first part I was trying to show that Islam is relevant to political concerns. If you want to understand Muslims, I argued, you need to understand the role of Islam in their lives. Now that seems obvious. #Quote by Daniel Pipes
Islam quotes by Malcolm X
#4. Any number of my former brothers felt they would make heroes of themselves in the Nation of Islam if they killed me ... I knew that no one would kill you quicker than Muslim if he felt that's what Allah wanted him to do. #Quote by Malcolm X
Islam quotes by Tanwi Nandini Islam
#5. Each seed tells this story: Everything that happens is already written. #Quote by Tanwi Nandini Islam
Islam quotes by Firas Alkhateeb
#6. Although he took Constantinople by force, Mehmet did not impose Islam on the city's inhabitants. They were free to continue to practice religion as they did before the conquest. #Quote by Firas Alkhateeb
Islam quotes by Marion Marechal-Le Pen
#7. We are not a land of Islam, and if French citizens can be Muslims, it's on the condition to submit to habits and ways of life that the Greek, Roman influence and 16 centuries of Christianity have shaped. #Quote by Marion Marechal-Le Pen
Islam quotes by Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas
#8. Change, development and progress, according to the Islamic viewpoint, refer to the return to the genuine Islam enunciated and practised by the Holy Prophet (may God bless and give him Peace!) and his noble Companions and their Followers (blessing and peace be upon them all!) and the faith and practice of genuine Muslims after them; and they also refer to the self and mean its return to its original nature and religion (Islam). #Quote by Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas
Islam quotes by George Bernard Shaw
#9. Islam is the best religion and Muslims are the worst followers #Quote by George Bernard Shaw
Islam quotes by Charb
#10. We have to go on until Islam is made as ho-hum as Catholicism. #Quote by Charb
Islam quotes by Paul Christensen
#11. There has never been a riper time for extreme Islam to perish. #Quote by Paul Christensen
Islam quotes by Adolf Hitler
#12. Under the guidance of the Reich, Europe would speedily have become unified. Once the Jewish poison had been eradicated, unification would have been an easy matter. France and Italy, each defeated in turn at an interval of a few months by the two Germanic Powers, would have been well out of it. Both would have had to renounce their inappropriate aspirations to greatness. At the same time they would have had to renounce their pretensions in North Africa and the Near East; and that would have allowed Europe to pursue a bold policy of friendship towards Islam. (4th February 1945) #Quote by Adolf Hitler
Islam quotes by Malala Yousafzai
#13. Islam tells us every girl and boy should be educated. I don't know why the Taliban have forgotten it. #Quote by Malala Yousafzai
Islam quotes by Mosab Hassan Yousef
#14. We need to educate people about the reality of Islam, the logics of Islam. I am sure every free man in this world would fight the ideology of Islam. #Quote by Mosab Hassan Yousef
Islam quotes by Edward Said
#15. It is very easy to make wild generalizations about Islam. All you have to do is read almost any issue of The New Republic and you'll see there the radical evil that's associated with Islam, the Arabs as having a depraved culture, and so forth. These are impossible generalizations to make in the United States about any other religious or ethnic group. #Quote by Edward Said
Islam quotes by Firas Alkhateeb
#16. The smallpox vaccination was developed in the Ottoman Empire. The vaccine subsequently made its way to England through the wife of an English ambassador who observed the practice in Istanbul. #Quote by Firas Alkhateeb
Islam quotes by Saleem Haddad
#17. In America the gay world touched my life at the margins, though references and images and occasional conversations with men and women who celebrated their homosexuality with pride. As far as I could see there was nothing to be proud about. There was only pain, humiliation and shame. If I were to join this group, I would have to act proud and hide my feelings of rejection and loneliness. If I were to show these men and women that I was terrified for my future, I would be regarded as misguided or a victim of Islam or Arabness. But if there was one thing I wsa certain of it was that there was nothing misguided about my feelings, and I did not feel that Islam or my Arabness was to blame. If I were to join this group, I would simply go from the repressiveness of secrecy to the repressiveness of pride. I didn't despise my shame. I had no reason to do so. My shame illuminated my intense attachment to the world, my desire to be connected with others. #Quote by Saleem Haddad
Islam quotes by Devdutt Pattanaik
#18. For centuries, pilgrims have travelled to Ayodhya identifying it as a birthplace of Ram. But the exact location is a subject of dispute and political turmoil. Ever since colonial times, Hinduism has felt under siege, forced to explain itself using European templates, make itself more tangible, more structured, more homogenous, more historical, more geographical, less psychological, less emotional, to render itself as valid as the major religions of the world like Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The fallout of this pressure is the need to locate matters of faith in a particular spot. What used to be once a matter of faith becomes a territorial war zone where courts have to intervene #Quote by Devdutt Pattanaik
Islam quotes by Bill Maher
#19. The difference between the three Abrahamic religions: Christianity - mumbling to the ceiling, Judaism - mumbling to the wall, Islam - mumbling to the floor. #Quote by Bill Maher
Islam quotes by Ishtiaq Husain Qureshi
#20. Theocracy in the West is a kingdom of God where authority vests in specially ordained priests who exercise it on behalf of God. This is not the conception of Islam. Islam has no priesthood and, therefore no special agents of God to administer the law which expresses His will. #Quote by Ishtiaq Husain Qureshi
Islam quotes by Emir Kusturica
#21. I am a living illustration of Bosnian mixing and converting. My grandparents lived in eastern Herzegovina. Very poor. The Turks came and brought Islam. There were three brothers in the family. One was Orthodox Christian. The other two took Islam to survive. #Quote by Emir Kusturica
Islam quotes by Ismail Haniyeh
#22. The people have said yes to change and reform. The majority of the Palestinians have said yes to the slogan, 'Islam is the solution.' The people also voted in favor of our policy of resistance and against the occupation. Our policy is designed to defend Jerusalem, achieve the right of return for all refugees and the release of our prisoners. #Quote by Ismail Haniyeh
Islam quotes by Denzel Washington
#23. I think that we all at some point are in search of something - a higher power, whatever you want to call it, the meaning of life. I know I was, especially at even my son's age in my 20s, and dabbling in Eastern philosophies and yoga and Buddhism and Christianity and Islam. I kind of touched them all, you know, just trying to figure out the meaning of life or if nothing else, figure myself out. #Quote by Denzel Washington
Islam quotes by Abdal Hakim Murad
#24. Those who come to Islam because they wish to draw closer to God have no problem with a multiform Islam radiating from a single revealed paradigmatic core. But those who come to Islam seeking an identity will find the multiplicity of traditional Muslim cultures intolerable. People with confused identities are attracted to totalitarian solutions. And today, many young Muslims feel so threatened by the diversity of calls on their allegiance, and by the sheer complexity of modernity, that the only form of Islam they can regard as legitimate is a totalitarian, monolithic one. That there should be four schools of Islamic law is to them unbearable. That Muslim cultures should legitimately differ is a species of blasphemy. #Quote by Abdal Hakim Murad
Islam quotes by Mohammed Mahdi Akef
#25. The Muslim Brotherhood is a global movement whose members cooperate with each other throughout the world, based on the same religious worldview - the spread of Islam, until it rules the world. #Quote by Mohammed Mahdi Akef
Islam quotes by Islam Atef Aly
#26. I don't go on dates. I don't go to cafes. I don't care about celebrities or which sport team just won, My universe exists with my entire mind. #Quote by Islam Atef Aly
Islam quotes by Andrei Younis
#27. In this context, my endeavor was actually a search for reconciliation between Christianity and Islam, for as I witness the recent state of affairs in the world I can sense this reconciliation is absolutely necessary so that the future of humanity's spiritual evolution is not endangered, and that we - as members of humanity - could create the opportunity to be permeated by cosmic consciousness and be able to attain a highly spiritualized state of love. #Quote by Andrei Younis
Islam quotes by Walter Kasper
#28. Suicide attacks are the actions of losers who have nothing left to lose. In this case, Islam serves as a mask, a cover for desperation and nihilism, but not for religion. #Quote by Walter Kasper
Islam quotes by Siraj Wahhaj
#29. As long as you remember that if you get involved in politics, you have to be very careful that your leader is for Allah. You don't get involved in politics because it's the American thing to do. You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam, #Quote by Siraj Wahhaj
Islam quotes by Yasmin Mogahed
#30. Allah loves His creation. That's why He rewards so greatly for serving them. #Quote by Yasmin Mogahed
Islam quotes by Larry Kelley
#31. Unlike some of the Arabs of antiquity who learned to make a living as farmers or merchants, the mark of manhood for the Arab nomads who followed Muhammad was the possession of arms, obsession with honor, and claim to pastures, camels, and women. Robbery and murder outside the protective confines of one's clan were simply the means to an end." 125 It was upon the ethos of the ruthless raid that Muhammad founded Islam. #Quote by Larry Kelley
Islam quotes by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
#32. Islam is about finding your own space. #Quote by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Islam quotes by John Rhys-Davies
#33. I have a lot of respect for aspects of Islam, but I would not choose to live in a theocratically organised Muslim society. #Quote by John Rhys-Davies
Islam quotes by Daniel Marques
#34. Jews were expelled to Israel, Protestants were expelled to the USA and where should the Muslims go? #Quote by Daniel Marques
Islam quotes by T.W. Rolleston
#35. There is perhaps no law written more conspicuously in the teachings of history than that nations who are ruled by priests drawing their authority from supernatural sanctions are, just in the measure that they are so ruled, incapable of true national progress. The free, healthy current of secular life and thought is, in the very nature of things, incompatible with priestly rule. Be the creed what it may, Druidism, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, or fetichism, a priestly caste claiming authority in temporal affairs by virtue of extra-temporal sanctions is inevitably the enemy of that spirit of criticism, of that influx of new ideas, of that growth of secular thought, of human and rational authority, which are the elementary conditions of national development. #Quote by T.W. Rolleston
Islam quotes by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
#36. As a woman you are better off in life earning your own money. You couldn't prevent your husband from leaving you or taking another wife, but you could have some of your dignity if you didn't have to beg him for financial support. #Quote by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Islam quotes by Umar Ibn Al-Khattab
#37. Whosoever shows you your faults is your friend. Those that pay you lip service in praise are your executioners. #Quote by Umar Ibn Al-Khattab
Islam quotes by Idries Shah
#38. Saying of the Prophet
Helping others
I order you to assist any oppressed person, whether he is a Muslim or not. #Quote by Idries Shah
Islam quotes by Bradley Steffens
#39. It's true. I doubt. I doubt because I seek the truth. Doubt has served me well. #Quote by Bradley Steffens
Islam quotes by Moustapha Akkad
#40. Beside all this I think there was something personal, being Muslim myself who lived in the west I felt that it was my obligation my duty to tell the truth about Islam. It is a religion that has a 700 million following, yet it's so little known about it which surprised me. #Quote by Moustapha Akkad
Islam quotes by Tom Gjelten
#41. ISIS goes after any group that deviates from its extreme ideology, dissident Muslims, for example, or the Yazidis who practice an ancient religion distinct from both Islam and Christianity. #Quote by Tom Gjelten
Islam quotes by Zarina Bibi
#42. In Islam, culture does not exist.
When you accept Islam.
You accept the Quran, Allah's words. #Quote by Zarina Bibi
Islam quotes by Idries Shah
#43. Saying of the Prophet
Obligation to Learn
The pursuit of knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim. #Quote by Idries Shah
Islam quotes by H.G.Wells
#44. The Islamic teachings have left great traditions for equitable and gentle dealings and behavior, and inspire people with nobility and tolerance. These are human teachings of the highest order and at the same time practicable. These teachings brought into existence a society in which hard-heartedness and collective oppression and injustice were the least as compared with all other societies preceding it ... Islam is replete with gentleness, courtesy, and fraternity. #Quote by H.G.Wells
Islam quotes by Jimmy Carter
#45. I think there ought to be a strict separation or wall built between our religious faith and our practice of political authority in office. I don't think the President of the United States should extoll Christianity if he happens to be a Christian at the expense of Judaism, Islam or other faiths. #Quote by Jimmy Carter
Islam quotes by Adil Salahi
#46. ...What remains to be said is that no portrait of the Prophet's character will do him justice. He was superior to anything we can imagine. Perhaps the description that comes closest to the truth is that he was "the teacher of perfect goodness." May God reward him well for having taught that perfect goodness to humanity. #Quote by Adil Salahi
Islam quotes by Michel Foucault
#47. Islam, in the year 1978, was not the opium of the people precisely because it was the spirit of a world without spirit. #Quote by Michel Foucault
Islam quotes by Erwin Raphael McManus
#48. Im often accused of being irreligious, and I suppose it's for this very reason. Whether it's Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Judaism, or any other ism, when a religioin is created on the subtle premise that God withholds his love and you must submit to the system to earn that love, I consider it the worst of corruptions ...
For centuries, the church has been telling us that if we want God to love us, we need to follow the rules. It's been far more important to focus on the sin problem than the love problem. #Quote by Erwin Raphael McManus
Islam quotes by Vernon Richards
#49. "The true Islamic concept of peace goes something like this: "Peace comes through submission to Muhammad and his concept of Allah" (i.e. Islam). As such the Islamic concept of peace, meaning making the whole world Muslim, is actually a mandate for war. It was inevitable and unavoidable that the conflict would eventually reach our borders, and so it has." #Quote by Vernon Richards
Islam quotes by Adolf Hitler
#50. You see, it's been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn't we have the religion of the Japanese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion [Islam] too would have been more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness? #Quote by Adolf Hitler
Islam quotes by Gore Vidal
#51. I regard monotheism as the greatest disaster ever to befall the human race. I see no good in Judaism, Christianity, or Islam
good people, yes, but any religion based on a single, well, frenzied and virulent god, is not as useful to the human race as, say, Confucianism, which is not a religion but an ethical and educational system. #Quote by Gore Vidal
Islam quotes by Brad Thor
#52. There are many lay people and scholars alike, both with and without the Muslim community, who feel that the pure orthodox Islam of the fundamentalists could never survive outside the context of its seventh-century Arabian origins. Apply twenty-first-century science, logic, or humanistic reasoning to it and it falls apart.
They believe this is why Islam has always relied so heavily on the threat of death. Question Islam, malign Islam, or leave Islam and you will be killed. It is a totalitarian modus operandi that silences all dissent and examination, thereby protecting the faith from ever having to defend itself. #Quote by Brad Thor
Islam quotes by Will Self
#53. I write as someone who has no more time for repressive Islam than he does for repressive Christianity or Judaism, but at least look at the face in the hijab - and try to imagine the one beneath the niqab - before you depersonalise its wearer. #Quote by Will Self
Islam quotes by Tariq Ramadan
#54. I have learned that one should say "Peace!" to those who shout their hatred for one's being and presence or at one's passage. #Quote by Tariq Ramadan
Islam quotes by Pankaj Mishra
#55. Islam, however inadequate, was the only source of ethics and stimulus for political mobilization. And al-Afghani also presciently saw that a totally secular society- the dream of nineteenth-century rationalism- was doomed to remain a fantasy in the West as well as in the Muslim world. As he concluded in his response to Renan:
The masses do not like reason, the teachings of which are understood only by a few select minds. Science, however fine it may be, cannot completely satisfy humanity's thirst for the ideal, or the desire to soar in dark and distant regions that philosophers and scholars can neither see nor explore. #Quote by Pankaj Mishra
Islam quotes by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
#56. The people who believe themselves to be on the left, and who defend the agents of Islam in the name of tolerance and culture, are being rightwing. Not just rightwing. Extreme rightwing. I don't understand how you can be so upset about the Christian right and just ignore the Islamic right. I'm talking about equality. #Quote by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Islam quotes by Darrel Ray
#57. While [female genital mutilation] may have not originated with Islam, it has become an integral part of the religious practice in many regions tied to notions of male dominance and control of female sexuality. #Quote by Darrel Ray
Islam quotes by Reddioui Islam
#58. Hope and faith, keeps me alive #Quote by Reddioui Islam
Islam quotes by Taslima Nasrin
#59. It is unfair to label me anti-Islam. I am an atheist and a secular humanist. #Quote by Taslima Nasrin
Islam quotes by Aisha Mirza
#60. sometimes we need the world and all the people on her to abandon us so we can turn to the One who will never leave us stranded. #Quote by Aisha Mirza
Islam quotes by Al-Hasan Al-Basri
#61. For this world has neither worth nor weight with God; so slight it is, it weighs not with God so much as a pebble or a single clod of earth; as I am told, God has created nothing more hateful to Him than this world, and from the day He created it He has not looked upon it, so much He hates it. #Quote by Al-Hasan Al-Basri
Islam quotes by Chris Hedges
#62. The danger is not Islam or Christianity or any other religion. It is the human heart - the capacity we all have for evil. All human institutions with a lust for power give their utopian visions divine sanction #Quote by Chris Hedges
Islam quotes by Noam Chomsky
#63. Cyrus Scofield, a preacher from Dallas, Texas, was another link in the chain that connected missionary theology on both sides of the Atlantic. This violent priest produced an annotated, fundamentalist version of the Bible that was published by Oxford University Press in 1909. It was, in a way, the most explicit sketch of the three prongs that form the basis for U.S. policy today: the return of the Jews, the decline of Islam, and the rising fortunes of the United States as a world power. #Quote by Noam Chomsky
Islam quotes by Frithjof Schuon
#64. Hinduism - a spiritual world
That contains everything, and shimmers in all colors;
It offers us Vedanta, the doctrine of the great Shankara:
And also gods without number,
In whose cult our heart has no interest.

Islam wants first and foremost to be Unity,
And life-wisdom. It also knows the wine
Of the heart, that turns the soul inwards.
Islam is revelation's last sanctuary.

In whichever language one honors truth:
God is reality - the world is appearance. #Quote by Frithjof Schuon
Islam quotes by Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud
#65. And adab towards language means the recognition and acknowledgement of the rightful and proper place of every word in a written or uttered sentence so as not to produce a dissonance in meaning, sound and concept. Literature is called adabiyat in Islam precisely because it is seen as the keeper of civilization, the collector of teachings and statements that educate the self and society with adab such that both are elevated to the rank of the cultured man (insan adabi) and society. #Quote by Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud
Islam quotes by Neal Stephenson
#66. Lagos, typically for a nonbusinessman, had a fatal flaw: he thought too small.
He figured that with a little venture capital, this neurolinguistic hacking
could be developed as a new technology that would enable Rife to maintain
possession of information that had passed into the brains of his programmers.
Which, moral considerations aside, wasn't a bad idea.
"Rife likes to think big. He immediately saw that this idea could be much more
powerful. He took Lagos's idea and told Lagos himself to buzz off. Then he
started dumping a lot of money into Pentecostal churches. He took a small
church in Bayview, Texas, and built it up into a university. He took a smalltime
preacher, the Reverend Wayne Bedford, and made him more important than the
Pope. He constructed a string of self-supporting religious franchises all over
the world, and used his university, and its Metaverse campus, to crank out tens
of thousands of missionaries, who fanned out all over the Third World and began
converting people by the hundreds of thousands, just like St. Louis Bertrand.
L. Bob Rife's glossolalia cult is the most successful religion since the
creation of Islam. They do a lot of talking about Jesus, but like many selfdescribed
Christian churches, it has nothing to do with Christianity except that
they use his name. It's a postrational religion.
"He also wanted to spread the biological virus as a promoter or enhanc #Quote by Neal Stephenson
Islam quotes by William Dalrymple
#67. Certainly If John moschos where to come back today it is likely that he would find much more than that was familiar and the practices of a modern Muslim Sufi then he would with those of, say, a contemporary American evangelical. Yet the simple truth has been lost by our tendency to think of Christianity as a western religion rather than the Oriental faith it actually is. Moreover the modern demonization of Islam in the west, and the recent growth of Muslim fundamentalism (itself in many ways a reaction to the West's repeated humiliation of the Muslim world), have led to an atmosphere where few are aware of, or indeed wish to be aware of, the profound kinship of Christianity and Islam. #Quote by William Dalrymple
Islam quotes by George Bernard Shaw
#68. I have very carefully studied Islam and the life of its Prophet (PBUH). I have done so both as a student of history and as a critic. And I have come to conclusion that Muhammad (PBUH) was indeed a great man and a deliverer and benefactor of mankind which was till then writhing under the most agonising Pain. #Quote by George Bernard Shaw
Islam quotes by John Eberly
#69. Again and again and again. A transmutation is required to effect the spiritualization of matter. Whenever living beings disappear, they leave behind a subtle essence, or 'body', which in esoteric Islam is called the jism mithali. Solve et coagula, dissolve and coalesce, in other words, 'to make of the body a spirit and of the spirit a body.' This is the basis of al-Kimia, nothing more simple can define the term. One and one do not make two, the One divides and multiplies, yet remains One. There is nothing lost by dying; spirit and matter constantly transmute in form and formlessness #Quote by John Eberly
Islam quotes by Aladdin Elaasar
#70. As an African myself, I cannot tell how much proud and excited I am to see our nation having the first African-American president. This is a historical time for our nation. Arab and Muslim Americans are amongst those who overwhelmingly voted for Mr. Obama. As we know, there are about three million Arab Americans and about seven million Muslim Americans in this country. Not all Arab American are Muslims, and not all Muslim Americans are Arabs. These are very diverse communities. They come in all colors and backgrounds. They have been contributing to this nation for so long. Islam is not a foreign religion to this great nation of ours; Islam knew its way with the first sailors who came to America with Columbus after the fall of Granada in 1492. Islam was the religion of many Africans brought here to America. Muslim soldiers and chaplains contribute to the success of our military. #Quote by Aladdin Elaasar
Islam quotes by Paul Strathern
#71. In its early years, Islam encouraged philosophical and scientific speculation: to know how the world worked was to know the mind of God. #Quote by Paul Strathern
Islam quotes by Zulfikar Ghose
#72. For under moonlight the forms of the earth were liquid and they passed in or out of his body who ventured, in solitude, some gesture of communication with those forms. Especially under moonlight, especially when his own breath was the purest liquid. Thus Aziz Khan. Sometimes almost bewildered as a bird, compelled to flick from the sides of his body, not knowing what it was he did, never questioning his own actions but performing them without realising that, ardent though was his faith in Islam, the god he was most devoted to was the cosmos. #Quote by Zulfikar Ghose
Islam quotes by Muhammad Iqbal
#73. It cannot be denied that Islam, regarded as an ethical ideal plus a certain kind of polity - by which expression I mean a social structure regulated by a legal system and animated by a specific ethical ideal - has been the chief formative factor in the life-history of the Muslims of India. It has furnished those basic emotions and loyalties which gradually unify scattered individuals and groups, and finally transform them into a well-defined people, possessing a moral consciousness of their own. #Quote by Muhammad Iqbal
Islam quotes by Yasin Al Hafiz
#74. It is pointless and impossible to maintain a modern ideology based on inaccurate memories of a dead and distant past. #Quote by Yasin Al Hafiz
Islam quotes by Sebastian Gorka
#75. You cannot win a war if you cannot talk honestly about the enemy Since the 9/11 attacks, political correctness and ideological prejudice - under both Republican and Democratic presidents - have distorted our analysis of the enemy, preventing us from drawing an effective plan to defeat the likes of Al Qaeda and the Islamic State. The Obama administration, blinded by its own preconceived ideas of why terrorism occurs, is influenced by malevolent actors who have an interest in censoring any talk of the religious aspects of the enemy's ideology. At the highest level of the U.S. government, terrorism is deemed to be the result of poverty, unemployment, and lack of political enfranchisement. This fallacy must be jettisoned. We are not at war with Islam. The people most immanently in danger, in fact, are the nonviolent and non-extremist Muslims of the Middle East, such as our allies in Jordan and the modern Muslims of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. They are on the most important front of this war, and they understand just how much religion truly matters. We do a great disservice to those brave Muslims when we try to convince the world that the threat will disappear if enough people have good jobs and sound educations. #Quote by Sebastian Gorka
Islam quotes by Paulo Coelho
#76. The major religions, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, they deny somehow that God has a feminine face. However, if you go to the holy texts, you see there is this feminine presence. #Quote by Paulo Coelho
Islam quotes by Nursultan Nazarbayev
#77. The terrorists whatever slogans they use have nothing in common with Islam. #Quote by Nursultan Nazarbayev
Islam quotes by Tom Holland
#78. [T]here [is] no limit to what might not be achieved by an alliance between an imperial monarchy and revelations, if truly believed to be heaven-sent, of a prophet. #Quote by Tom Holland
Islam quotes by Chris Hedges
#79. The moral certitude of the state in wartime is a kind of fundamentalism. And this dangerous messianic brand of religion, one where self-doubt is minimal, has come increasingly to color the modern world of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. #Quote by Chris Hedges
Islam quotes by Tirmidhi
#80. Abu'd-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), say, 'Allah will make the path to the Garden easy for anyone who travels a path in search of knowledge. Angels spread their wings for the seeker of knowledge out of pleasure for what he is doing. Everyone in the heavens and everyone in the earth ask forgiveness for a man of knowledge, even the fish in the water. The superiority of the man of knowledge to the man of worship is like the superiority of the moon to all the planets. The men of knowledge are the heirs of the Prophets. The Prophets bequeath neither dinar nor dirham; they bequeath knowledge. Whoever takes it has taken an ample portion.'" [Related by Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi; Riyad al-Salihin: 1388] #Quote by Tirmidhi
Islam quotes by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
#81. I have had to pay a price for leaving Islam and for speaking out. I have to pay for round-the-clock security because of the death threats against me. #Quote by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Islam quotes by Zarina Bibi
#82. The world is on fire with hate- everyone is blaming one another saying that religion is responsible for it!
In all honesty, hate has no fate.
But greed does it needs money, its faith. #Quote by Zarina Bibi
Islam quotes by Mark Durie
#83. When someone comes under abuse or attack a characteristic response is to blame yourself, especially if you are locked into a relationship of being attacked regularly, and making apologies for your abuser. It actually affects Christians living in Islamic circumstances more, and one Palestinian Christian spoke about that problem of needing to defend Islam in order to protect yourself. #Quote by Mark Durie
Islam quotes by G. Willow Wilson
#84. In the West, anything that must be hidden is suspect; availability and honesty are interlinked. This clashes irreconcilably with Islam, where the things that are most precious, most perfect and most holy are always hidden: the Kaaba, the faces of prophets and angels, a woman's body, Heaven. #Quote by G. Willow Wilson
Islam quotes by Satyendra Singh 'Shyamal'
#85. Terrorism has no religion, but secularism has one and only one. #Quote by Satyendra Singh 'Shyamal'
Islam quotes by Idries Shah
#86. Day and Night
The night is long: do not shorten it by sleep. The day is fair: do not darken it with wrongdoing. #Quote by Idries Shah
Islam quotes by Dinesh D'Souza
#87. Christ remains the most influential figure in history. Any list of world-transforming individuals would no doubt include Moses, Buddha, and Muhammad. Moses, Buddha, and Muhammad, however occupy totally different places in Judaism, Buddhism, and Islam than Christ occupies in Christianity. Moses, Buddha, and Muhammad never professed to perform miracles; indeed they never claimed to be anything more than men. They viewed themselves simply as God's messengers. Christ is the only person in history who has defined a whole religion around his person. #Quote by Dinesh D'Souza
Islam quotes by Muammar Al-Gaddafi
#88. There are serious mistakes, among them the one saying that Jesus came as a messenger for other people other than the sons of Israel ... Christianity is not a faith for people in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Other people who are not sons of Israel have nothing to do with that religion ... It is a mistake that another religion exists alongside Islam. There is only one religion which is Islam after Mohammed ... All those believers who do not follow Islam are losers. #Quote by Muammar Al-Gaddafi
Islam quotes by Ibn Warraq

Islam quotes by Cat Stevens
#90. I suppose that the media and their portrayal of Islam and the almost tribal separations and divisions of the Muslims are the greatest issues confronting Muslims in the United Kingdom. #Quote by Cat Stevens
Islam quotes by Kristiane Backer
#91. According to Islam, whenever we are struck by illness or misfortune or someone hurts us, there is a higher purpose behind it, which we may not understand at the time,' one of them said to me. 'That's where trust comes in. Through suffering, God helps us to better ourselves and make good our mistakes. It is a form of purification and also God's way of testing the strength of our faith and the goodness of our character.' Another lady suggested I look on the bright side.

'Suffering draws us closer to God and that is our aim in life,' she said. Then she quoted Rumi who had said, 'It is pain that draws man to his Lord, because when he is well, he doesn't remember the Lord.' I tried to look at the positive and believe that there was a higher, spiritual perspective on what I had just been through, and all the advice I was given helped me a lot. But it took quite a while for my heart to catch up with my mind. #Quote by Kristiane Backer
Islam quotes by Firas Alkhateeb
#92. As part of his administrative reforms, Suleiman lowered taxes on peasants in his Empire. This led to immigration of Christian peasants who left the rest of Europe to live and work in the Ottoman Empire. #Quote by Firas Alkhateeb
Islam quotes by Robert R. Reilly
#93. As Fouad Ajami observed, the inability to relate cause to effect is pandemic in the Islamic world. #Quote by Robert R. Reilly
Islam quotes by Mahatma Gandhi
#94. Its unadulterated belief in the oneness of God and a practical application of the truth of the brotherhood of man for those who are nominally within its fold are two distinctive contributions of Islam. #Quote by Mahatma Gandhi
Islam quotes by Abhijit Naskar
#95. The term "musalman" refers to someone with "musallam iman", that means, a pure conscience. Thus, any individual whose conscience is pure and clear, who can think for himself or herself, is a musalman or muslim, regardless of socio-religious background. Likewise, any human being who loves the neighbor as much as his or her own family is a Christian. #Quote by Abhijit Naskar
Islam quotes by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
#96. There is in fact no good reason al-Ghazali and his ilk should have the last word in defining Islam. Muslims around the world cannot go on claiming that "true" Islam has somehow been "hijacked" by a group of extremists. Instead they must acknowledge that inducements to violence lie at the root of their own most sacred texts, and take responsibility for actively redefining their faith. #Quote by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Islam quotes by Glenn Beck
#97. The Brotherhood's campaign to intimidate and silence officials in Washington who link Islam and terrorism is working brilliantly. The 9/11 Commission Report used the word jihad 126 times, Muslim 145 times, and Islam 322 times. A decade later, they have been virtually banished from official U.S. government documents. The FBI's Counterterrorism Analytical Lexicon and the 2009 National Intelligence Strategy have zero mentions of jihad, Muslim, or Islam. Instead, they refer to "violent extremism" in general. #Quote by Glenn Beck
Islam quotes by Maajid Nawaz
#98. Islamism is an ideology that seeks to impose any version of Islam over society. #Quote by Maajid Nawaz
Islam quotes by Ilana Mercer
#99. Still - and for all Obama's heavy hinting to the contrary - Islam has no "human rights." The ideas of individual rights and the dignity of man are distinctly Western, an outgrowth of the Enlightenment. And while dialogue is dignified; dhimmitude is not, even if it achieves a desired, if temporary, effect. #Quote by Ilana Mercer
Islam quotes by Anila Aboo
#100. Unable and crippled I am
As I gaze into the vastness

Islam quotes by Abu Bakar Bashir

Islam quotes by A. Helwa
#104. We do not worship God because God needs it, we worship God because we need it. Prayer is not you reaching out for God, it is you responding to God, who first reached out to you. #Quote by A. Helwa
Islam quotes by G. Willow Wilson
#105. It seems like whenever you write about Muslims, people assume that you're writing about the Quran, you are writing about the Prophet Muhammad. There's no sense that Muslims are capable of individualism, that they're capable of making mistakes that are somehow not connected to Islam. #Quote by G. Willow Wilson
Islam quotes by Fulton J. Sheen
#106. Today (1950), the hatred of the Moslem countries against the West is becoming hatred against Christianity itself. Although the statesmen have not yet taken it into account, there is still grave danger that the temporal power of Islam may return and, with it, the menace that it may shake off a West which has ceased to be Christian, and affirm itself as a great anti-Christian world Power. #Quote by Fulton J. Sheen
Islam quotes by Malcolm X
#107. True Islam taught me that it takes all of the religious, political, economic, psychological, and racial ingredients, or characteristics, to make the Human Family and the Human Society complete. #Quote by Malcolm X
Islam quotes by Wolfgang Schauble
#108. When it comes to training imams, one needs a partner. But if we want the mosques to preach peaceful coexistence, we will have to do something about it. One goal of the conference is to find a partner for the training of imams and teachers of Islam in schools. #Quote by Wolfgang Schauble
Islam quotes by John L. Esposito
#109. Interestingly, the more Americans report knowing about Muslim countries, the more likely they are to hold positive views of those countries. (p. 155) #Quote by John L. Esposito
Islam quotes by Malcolm X
#110. Every addict takes junk to escape something, the Muslim explains. He explains that most black junkies really are trying to narcotize themselves against being a black man in the white man's America. But, actually, the Muslim says, the black man taking dope is only helping the white man to "prove" that the black man is nothing. #Quote by Malcolm X
Islam quotes by Mike Wallace
#111. The religion of Islam is growing faster than any other religion in the world. #Quote by Mike Wallace
Islam quotes by Hilaire Belloc
#112. Will not perhaps the temporal power of Islam return and with it the menace of an armed Mohammedan world, which will shake off the domination of Europeans - still nominally Christian - and reappear as the prime enemy of our civilization? The future always comes as a surprise, but political wisdom consists in attempting at least some partial judgment of what that surprise may be. And for my part I cannot but believe that a main unexpected thing of the future is the return of Islam. #Quote by Hilaire Belloc
Islam quotes by Robert M. Price

Islam quotes by Abdul Sattar Abu Risha
#114. Democracy is for infidels. A real Muslim is not a democrat because he doesn't care about the opinions of majorities and minorities don't interest him. He is only interested in what Islam says. #Quote by Abdul Sattar Abu Risha

Islam quotes by Bernard Lewis
#116. As Osama bin Laden puts it: In this final phase of the ongoing struggle, the world of the infidels was divided between two superpowers
the United States and the Soviet Union. Now we have defeated and destroyed the more difficult and the more dangerous of the two. Dealing with the pampered and effeminate Americans will be easy. #Quote by Bernard Lewis
Islam quotes by Christopher Hitchens
#117. Islam is at once the most and the least interesting of the world's monotheisms. It builds upon its primitive Jewish and Christian predecessors, selecting a chunk here and a shard there, and thus if these fall, it partly falls also. #Quote by Christopher Hitchens
Islam quotes by Eve Ensler
#118. Prostration: placing the body in reverence, to submit, to surrender. In many faiths it is used to relinquish the ego. In Tibetan tantric Buddhism they do one hundred thousand prostrations to overcome pride. In Islam, prostration has been known to overcome many diseases. #Quote by Eve Ensler
Islam quotes by Pope Francis
#119. In this work (peace building), the role of religion is fundamental. It is not possible to build bridges between people while forgetting God, ... But the converse is also true: it is not possible to establish true links with God while ignoring other people. Hence it is important to intensify dialogue among the various religions, and I am thinking particularly of dialogue with Islam. #Quote by Pope Francis
Islam quotes by Laurie R. King
#120. Ma'alesh; no matter; never mind; what can you do but accept things as they are? Ma'alesh, your pot overturned in the fire; ma'alesh, your prize mare died; ma'alesh, you lost all your possessions and half your family. The word was the everyday essence of Islam - which itself, after all, means submission. #Quote by Laurie R. King
Islam quotes by Anita B. Sulser PhD

Islam quotes by Khalid Abdul Muhammad
#122. I found the speech, after listening to it in context, vile in manner, repugnant, malicious, mean-spirited and spoken in mockery of individuals and people, which is against the spirit of Islam. While I stand by the truths that he spoke, I must condemn in the strongest terms the manner in which those truths were represented. #Quote by Khalid Abdul Muhammad
Islam quotes by Toby Lester

Islam quotes by Anonymous
#124. When the sun shall be folded up; and when the stars shall fall; and when the mountains shall be made to pass away; and when the camels ten months gone with young shall be neglected; and when the seas shall boil; and when the souls shall be joined again to their bodies; and when the girl who hath been buried alive shall be asked for what crime she was put to death; and when the books shall be laid open; and when the heavens shall be removed; and when hell shall burn fiercely; and when paradise shall be brought near: every soul shall know what it hath wrought. #Quote by Anonymous
Islam quotes by Aung San Suu Kyi

Islam quotes by Talal Asad
#126. I think the approach to Islam as a tradition is helpful. Tradition helps us to focus on questions about authority and temporality, and about the language used in relation to the two. #Quote by Talal Asad
Islam quotes by John Henrik Clarke
#127. The rise of African nations concurrent with the spread of the Nation of Islam and the civil rights movement gave black America a burst of pride over and above anything they had had since the decline of the movement of Marcus Garvey. #Quote by John Henrik Clarke
Islam quotes by John Keegan
#128. The Islam of the 18th, 19th and first half of the 20th century was a poor thing. Nobody bothered about it. Islam was that funny sort of pure system of beliefs that depressed people in the Middle East held as their religion. #Quote by John Keegan
Islam quotes by Ruth Ahmed
#129. Ruby clapped her hands in glee and gave a comedic wiggle of her head, Bollywood style.

I know the song now, can even sing it, but back then all I heard was the verdant Punjabi, the striking primary colours of the five rivers, the intricate history of a complex land. #Quote by Ruth Ahmed
Islam quotes by Maajid Nawaz
#130. Yes, women should be free to cover their faces when walking down the street. But in our schools, hospitals, airports, banks and civil institutions, it is not unreasonable - nor contrary to the teachings of Islam - to expect women to show the one thing that allows the rest of us to identify them ... namely, their face. #Quote by Maajid Nawaz

Islam quotes by Jose Saramago

Islam quotes by Maajid Nawaz
#135. President Barack Obama and many liberal-minded commentators have been hesitant to call this Islamist ideology by its proper name. They seem to fear that both Muslim communities and the religiously intolerant will hear the word "Islam" and simply assume that all Muslims are being held responsible for the excesses of the jihadist few.

I call this the Voldemort effect, after the villain in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books. Many well-meaning people in Ms. Rowling's fictional world are so petrified of Voldemort's evil that they do two things: They refuse to call Voldemort by name, instead referring to "He Who Must Not Be Named," and they deny that he exists in the first place. Such dread only increases public hysteria, thus magnifying the appeal of Voldemort's power.

The same hysteria about Islamism is unfolding before our eyes. But no strategy intended to defeat Islamism can succeed if Islamism itself and its violent expression in jihadism are not first named, isolated and understood.

Islam quotes by Parker Palmer

Islam quotes by Christopher Hitchens

Islam quotes by Lawrence Booth
#138. Shafiul's English, it must be said, is limited (although as one wag pointed out, not as limited as his interrogators' Bengali). So when he was asked whether he had deliberately tried to disrupt Trott's elongated guard-taking procedure by aborting his own run-up, he insisted there had been no plan. Pushed moments later on whether [Jamie] Siddons had spoken to the team about the need to disrupt Trott's elongated guard-taking process, Shafiul nodded jubilantly. We were left none the wiser. #Quote by Lawrence Booth
Islam quotes by Eric Cantor

Whether it's people walking off 'The View' when Bill O'Reilly makes a statement about radical Islam or Juan Williams being fired for expressing his opinion, over-reaching political correctness is chipping away at the fundamental American freedoms of speech and expression. #Quote by Eric Cantor
Islam quotes by Idries Shah
#140. The important place held by Jesus among the world's six hundred million Moslems ... and the agreement of both religions about the necessity for surrender to God as the means of salvation, thus makes it comparatively easy for a Moslem to address himself to Christians: the sympathy and the history are already there. #Quote by Idries Shah

Islam quotes by Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin
#142. I am perplexed when I come upon people who are seemingly highly educated and trained to make best use if their minds--but when confronted by matters of religion, they prefer to abandon their education in favour of a silence that makes it seem as if Islam opposes logic and the intelect. #Quote by Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin

Islam quotes by Sarah Macdonald
#144. I've learned much from the land of many gods and many ways to worship. From Buddhism the power to begin to manage my mind, from Jainism the desire to make peace in all aspects of life, while Islam has taught me to desire goodness and to let go of that which cannot be controlled. I thank Judaism for teaching me the power of transcendence in rituals and the Sufis for affirming my ability to find answers within and reconnecting me with the power of music. Here's to the Parsis for teaching me that nature must be touched lightly, and the Sikhs for the importance of spiritual strength ... And most of all, I thank Hinduism for showing me that there are millions of paths to the divine. #Quote by Sarah Macdonald
Islam quotes by Cat Stevens
#145. I tried Zen and Ching, numerology, tarot cards and astrology. I tried to look back into the Bible, and could not find anything. At this time I did not know anything about Islam, and then, what I regarded as a miracle occurred. My brother had visited the mosque in Jerusalem, and was greatly impressed that while on the one hand it throbbed with life. #Quote by Cat Stevens

Islam quotes by Sam Harris
#147. Making distinctions of this kind, however, is deeply unfashionable in intellectual circles. In my experience, people do not want to hear that Islam supports violence in a way that Jainism doesn't, or that Buddhism offers a truly sophisticated, empirical approach to understanding the human mind, whereas Christianity presents an almost perfect impediment to such understanding. In many circles, to make invidious comparisons of this kind is to stand convicted of bigotry. #Quote by Sam Harris

#150. The will of little girls is stifled by Islam. By the time they menstruate they are rendered voiceless. They are reared to become submissive robots who serve in the house as cleaners and cooks. Islam quotes by Joseph Campbell
#160. One of the most interesting histories of what comes of rejecting science we may see in Islam, which in the beginning received, accepted, and even developed the classical legacy. For some five or six rich centuries there is an impressive Islamic record of scientific thought, experiment, and research, particularly in medicine. But then, alas! the authority of the general community, the Sunna, the consensus - which Mohammed the Prophet had declared would always be right - cracked down. The Word of God in the Koran was the only source and vehicle of truth. Scientific thought led to 'loss of belief in the origin of the world and in the Creator.' And so it was that, just when the light of Greek learning was beginning to be carried from Islam to Europe - from circa 1100 onward - Islamic science and medicine came to a standstill and went dead ... #Quote by Joseph Campbell

Islam quotes by Bertrand Russell
#170. Throughout the Middle Ages, Jews had no part in the culture of Christian countries, and were too severely persecuted to be able to make contributions to civilization, beyond supplying capital for the building of cathedrals and such enterprises. It was only among the Mohammedans, at that period, that Jews were treated humanely, and were able to pursue philosophy and enlightened speculation. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Mohammedans were more civilized and more humane than the Christians. Christians persecuted Jews, especially at times of religious excitement; the Crusades were associated with appalling pogroms. In Mohammedan countries, on the contrary, Jews at most times were not in any way ill treated. Especially in Moorish Spain, they contributed to learning; Maimonides (1135–1204), who was born at Cordova, is regarded by some as the source of much of Spinoza's
philosophy.Mohammedan civilization in its great days was admirable in the arts and in many technical ways, but it showed no capacity for independent speculation in theoretical matters. Its importance, which must not be under-rated, is as a transmitter. Between ancient and modern European civilization, the dark ages intervened. The Mohammedans and the Byzantines, while lacking the intellectual energy required for innovation, preserved the apparatus of civilization - education, books, and learned leisure. Both stimulated the West when it emerged from barbarism - the Mohammedans chiefly in the thirteenth century, #Quote by Bertrand Russell
Islam quotes by M. Fethullah Gulen
#171. The universe and the events in it are thus perfect examples to imitate. However, no matter how perfect the example is, everyone will draw and interpret objects according to their abilities. Charles Lako, commenting on aesthetics once said, that the magnificent scene at sunset would remind a farmer of the rather unaesthetic thought of dinner; the physicist, not of beauty or ugliness, but of the rightness or wrongness of the analysis of a matter. Thus, for Lalo, the sunset is beautiful only for those who are aware of beauty. Therefore, only those who see with God and hear with God can appreciate the beauty that spreads throughout existence as their senses are tuned to the spiritual realms. #Quote by M. Fethullah Gulen

As the Qur'an says, "It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers, that they may add faith to their faith for to Allah belong the forces of the heavens and the Earth and Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom" (48:4). #Quote by A. Islam quotes by Gregory F. Fegel
#175. Using your wealth to purchase other people's loyalty is a game as old as humanity itself. Rich men use their wealth to attract women, unscrupulous employers use material incentives and disincentives to manipulate their workers, and wealthy countries like the USA use their national wealth to keep their citizens loyal to the cause of aggressive and genocidal Imperialism. But historical longevity and common practice don't make the manipulation or exploitation morally or ethically right.

Organized religions are inherently POLITICAL organizations. There is a fundamental difference between the financial enterprise and political machinations of an organized religion versus a mass of independent unaffiliated believers, philosophers, and mystics who do not support any organized religion.

Christianity and Islam are known as proselytizing religions because they make an organized and systemic effort to gain converts, and they often provide services, products, or employment to attract converts. Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism show far less zeal about gaining converts, which is why you almost never hear about Jewish, Hindu, or Buddhist missionaries.

Modern medical and nursing schools usually teach their students the moral principle that the provision of medical services should never be used as a means to proselytize or promote a religion, but that does not deter many Christian health care providers from doing exactly that. Most of the medical and charitable #Quote by Gregory F. Fegel

Islam quotes by Dorothy Dunnett
#180. From Venice to Rome, Paris to Brussels, London to Edinburgh, the Ambassadors watched, long-eared and bright-eyed.

Charles of Spain, Holy Roman Emperor, fending off Islam at Prague and Lutherism in Germany and forcing recoil from the long, sticky fingers at the Vatican, cast a considering glance at heretic England.

Henry, new King of France, tenderly conscious of the Emperor's power and hostility, felt his way thoughtfully toward a small cabal between himself, the Venetians and the Pope, and wondered how to induce Charles to give up Savoy, how to evict England from Boulogne, and how best to serve his close friend and dear relative Scotland without throwing England into the arms or the lap of the Empire.

He observed Scotland, her baby Queen, her French and widowed Queen Mother, and her Governor Arran.

He observed England, ruled by the royal uncle Somerset for the boy King Edward, aged nine.

He watched with interest as the English dotingly pursued their most cherished policy: the marriage which should painlessly annex Scotland to England and end forever the long, dangerous romance between Scotland and England.

Pensively, France marshalled its fleet and set about cultivating the Netherlands, whose harbours might be kind to storm-driven galleys. The Emperor, fretted by Scottish piracy and less busy than he had been, watched the northern skies narrowly. Europe, poised delicately over a brand-new board, waiting for th #Quote by Dorothy Dunnett
