I Realized quotes by S. Jae-Jones
#1. For you, Elisabeth." He offered me the flute again. This time I took it. Despite the cold air, the instrument was warm, and felt almost like skin beneath my hands. It was only after the stranger disappeared that I realized he had called me by my given name. Elisabeth. How could he have possibly known? * #Quote by S. Jae-Jones
I Realized quotes by Adepero Oduye
#2. The reason why I found acting is because my father passed away. He passed away really young. I was going to go to med school. My father's dream was that all of his kids become doctors. I realized in school I didn't like it. When he died, it was like a wake-up call. Life is too short to do something you don't want to do. #Quote by Adepero Oduye
I Realized quotes by Louis Garrel
#3. I tried to make a list of films where there's two men and one woman and I realized there's films like this everywhere. #Quote by Louis Garrel
I Realized quotes by Al Yankovic
#4. It was difficult to get into my friends' rock bands when I was a teenager. They somehow didn't see the need for an accordion player. That's when I realized that I had to find my own path in life. #Quote by Al Yankovic
I Realized quotes by James Baldwin
#5. Giovanni had awakened an itch, had released a gnaw in me. I realized it one afternoon, when I was taking him to work via the Boulevard Montparnasse. We had bought a kilo of cherries and we were eating them as we walked along. We were both insufferably childish and high-spirited that afternoon and the spectacle we presented, two grown men jostling each other on the wide sidewalk and aiming the cherry pits, as though they were spitballs, into each other's faces, must have been outrageous. And I realized that such childishness was fantastic at my age and the happiness out of which it sprang yet more so; for that moment I really loved Giovanni, who had never seemed more beautiful than he was that afternoon. #Quote by James Baldwin
I Realized quotes by Notah Begay III
#6. I realized that the secret to golf isn't how low you shoot when it's going good, it's how to make your bad rounds better. #Quote by Notah Begay III
I Realized quotes by Zara Phillips
#7. I realized that I had to rebuild my foundation. I had a choice about how to see my life: I could look only at the negative or I could emphasise the positive. It took all the energy I could muster to accept that my miscarriage had happened for a reason. #Quote by Zara Phillips
I Realized quotes by Orna Ross
#8. That thicket gave me my first thought of what a long poem should be. Its unpeopled, life-filled stillness, its silence held by the crash of breaking waves below. I thought of a poem as a place into which one could wander, away from the cares of life. I realized its characters should be as unreal, and as utterly real, as the shadows that people this thicket. #Quote by Orna Ross
I Realized quotes by R.L. Stine
#9. She wasn't wearing a mask! The monstrous green face was her face. She wasn't wearing a monster costume. None of the Horrors were wearing costumes, I realized. I stepped back, raising my hands in horror as if trying to shield myself. #Quote by R.L. Stine
I Realized quotes by Graham Nash
#10. I realized at one point that David and I had not made a record together in almost 26 years and I thought that that was absurd because, first of all it had gone so fast, I didn't really realize, neither did David, that it had been that long. #Quote by Graham Nash
I Realized quotes by Stephen King
#11. I thought of kissing Astrid under the fire escape. I thought of Norm's rusty microbus and of his father, Cicero, sitting on the busted-down sofa in his old trailer, rolling dope in Zig-Zag papers and telling me if I wanted to get my license first crack out of the basket, I'd better cut my fucking hair. I thought of playing teen dances at the Auburn RolloDrome, and how we never stopped when the inevitable fights broke out between the kids from Edward Little and Lisbon High, or those from Lewiston High and St. Dom's; we just turned it up louder. I thought of how life had been before I realized I was a frog in a pot. I shouted: "One, two, you-know-what-to-do!" We kicked it in. Key of E. All that shit starts in E. #Quote by Stephen King
I Realized quotes by Sylvia Plath
#12. In Plaster

I shall never get out of this! There are two of me now:
This new absolutely white person and the old yellow one,
And the white person is certainly the superior one.
She doesn't need food, she is one of the real saints.

At the beginning I hated her, she had no personality --
She lay in bed with me like a dead body

And I was scared, because she was shaped just the way I was

Only much whiter and unbreakable and with no complaints.
I couldn't sleep for a week, she was so cold.
I blamed her for everything, but she didn't answer.

I couldn't understand her stupid behavior!

When I hit her she held still, like a true pacifist.

Then I realized what she wanted was for me to love her:
She began to warm up, and I saw her advantages.

Without me, she wouldn't exist, so of course she was grateful.

I gave her a soul, I bloomed out of her as a rose

Blooms out of a vase of not very valuable porcelain,
And it was I who attracted everybody's attention,

Not her whiteness and beauty, as I had at first supposed.

I patronized her a little, and she lapped it up --

You could tell almost at once she had a slave mentality.

I didn't mind her waiting on me, and she adored it.

In the morning she woke me early, reflecting the sun

From her amazingly white torso, and I couldn't help but notice

Her tidiness and her calmness and her #Quote by Sylvia Plath
I Realized quotes by John K. Brown
#13. I used to be terrified of death. My grandfather was terminal in the hospital across from my high school, yet I never visited him. That fact still haunts me to this day. Years later, my arms were around my grandmother as she struggled with her last breaths. I told her we were with her and everything was going to be okay. She died as I held her tightly and I felt her body lose life. It was the most peaceful moment I ever experienced, and I felt joy for her. It was an emotional, intellectual, and spiritual moment for me. I wasn't afraid anymore ... One day years later I received the phone call every parent dreads. My daughter was in a serious automobile accident. As I raced to her I prepared myself for the news she had died. Once again, I felt an unexpected and profound emotion. She lived, but in the face of that horrifying time there was a strange overall calm. I realized, no matter what, everything was going to be okay. I remembered I wasn't afraid anymore. #Quote by John K. Brown
I Realized quotes by Santosh Avvannavar
#14. After accepting the bitter truth of society, I set myself out to lead a life for myself entirely. I realized that the poisonous tentacles of society does not spare anyone, especially people like us. Once I realized that, I became strong from within. #Quote by Santosh Avvannavar
I Realized quotes by Lynn Povich
#15. What led to our revolt? Why did our generation suddenly realize that our place in society was changing--and had to change? In part, we were carried by the social and political currents of our time...But even with the social winds in our sails and the women's movement behind us, each of us had to overcome deeply held values and traditional social strictures. The struggle was personally painful and professionally scary. What would happen to us? Would we win our case? Would we change the magazine? Or would we be punished? Who would succeed and who would not? And if our revolt failed, were our careers over--or were they over anyway? We knew that filing the suit legally protected us from being fired, but we didn't trust the editors not to find some way to do us in.

Whatever happened, the immediate result is that it put us all on the line. "The night after the press conference I realized there was no turning back," said Lucy Howard. "Once I stepped up and said I wanted to be a writer, it was over. I wanted to change Newsweek, but everything was going to change. #Quote by Lynn Povich
I Realized quotes by Jonathan Horton
#16. After thorough reflection, I realized that my desire to achieve my goals in this sport outweighed my self-doubt. This perseverance has helped me to be successful not only in gymnastics, but in my non-athletic life as well. #Quote by Jonathan Horton
I Realized quotes by Remi Aubuchon
#17. Suddenly, I realized how tough trying to structure a story like this is. It was a lot of work. The one big advantage that we had was that we had eight scripts written before we started shooting, or even started casting. We had a really good opportunity to look at it and figure out where we were going to go and how to do it. Once we got a cast, which I love, then we started doing some revisions to make sure that they fit into it. #Quote by Remi Aubuchon
I Realized quotes by Trenton Lee Stewart
#18. Mr. Benedict: "After I woke up and composed myself, however, I realized the flowers must certainly be yours, Constance, to do with as you please. At any rate
"
Mr.Benedict broke off, for just then Constance jumped to her feet, snatched the bouquet from his desk, and hurled it into the wastebasket with all the force she could muster
so hard that flower petals flew up out of the wastebasket like tiny pink butterflies. Then placing her hands against the wall to steady herself, she stomped one foot repeatedly into the wastebasket as if trying to put out a fire.
"I see we are of the same opinion," said Mr. Benedict as Constance returned to her seat, and the others congratulated her on her judgment. #Quote by Trenton Lee Stewart
I Realized quotes by Jacque Fresco
#19. Living through the 1929 Great Depression helped shape my social conscience. During this time, I realized the earth was still the same place, manufacturing plants were still intact, and resources were still there, but people didn't have money to buy the products. I felt the rules of the game we play by were outmoded and damaging. This began a life-long quest resulting in the conclusions and designs presented in The Venus Project. #Quote by Jacque Fresco
I Realized quotes by Todd Burpo
#20. I realized for the first time that I had been feeling like I'd been in a fight. For months, I'd had my guard up, waiting for the next punch life could throw #Quote by Todd Burpo
I Realized quotes by Eudora Welty
#21. It was entirely taken for granted that there wasn't any lying in our family, and I was advanced in adolescence before I realized that in plenty of homes where I played with schoolmates, and went to their parties, children lied to their parents and parents lied to their children and to each other. It took me a long time to realize that these very same everyday lies, and the stratagems and jokes and tricks and dares that went with them, were in fact the basis of the scenes I so well loved to hear about and hoped for and treasured in the conversation of adults. My instinct - the dramatic instinct - was to lead me, eventually, on the right track for a storyteller: the scene was full of hints, pointers, suggestions, and promises of things to find out and know about human beings.I had to grow up and learn to listen for the unspoken as well as the spoken - and to know a truth, I also had to recognize a lie. #Quote by Eudora Welty
I Realized quotes by Glenn Beck
#22. Oh no, no, a state that adopts Common Core must adopt in its totality the Common Core and can only add 15 percent. It was then that I realized that this initiative, which had been constantly portrayed as state led and voluntary, was really about control. #Quote by Glenn Beck
I Realized quotes by Chris Carmack
#23. I grew up playing the saxophone. I joined the jazz band in high school, but somewhere along the way I realized the guys who strummed acoustic guitars at parties were the ones who got the attention. So I asked a friend to show me a few chords, and when I moved to L.A. I spent a lot of time practicing my guitar. #Quote by Chris Carmack
I Realized quotes by Bill Watterson
#24. Calvin: I used to hate writing assignments, but now I enjoy them. I realized that the purpose of writing is to inflate weak ideas, obscure poor reasoning, and inhibit clarity. With a little practice, writing can be an intimidating and impenetrable fog! Want to see my book report?
Hobbes: (Reading Calvin's paper) "The Dynamics of Interbeing and Monological Imperatives in Dick and Jane: A Study in Psychic Transrelational Gender modes."
Calvin: Academia, here I come! #Quote by Bill Watterson
I Realized quotes by Harry Shearer
#25. I didn't have a lot of independent film connections. It really took until the digital film revolution came along that I realized that I could do it myself. #Quote by Harry Shearer
I Realized quotes by Steve Martin
#26. I realized that comedians of the day were operating on jokes and punch lines. The moment you say the punch line, the audience either laughs sincerely or they laugh automatically or they don't laugh. The thing that bothered me was that automatic laugh. I said, that's not real laughter. #Quote by Steve Martin
I Realized quotes by Byron Katie
#27. I realized that it's insane to oppose it. When I argue with reality, I lose-but only 100% of the time. How do I know that the wind should blow? It's blowing! #Quote by Byron Katie
I Realized quotes by Joe Perry
#28. For years I've wanted to find some guys that I could work with, because I realized a long time ago that I can do a lot of things other than Aerosmith. #Quote by Joe Perry
I Realized quotes by Anne Rice
#29. Ah! I had been screaming. I realized it. Lots of mortals around me, high up in the night, were telling me to be quiet. #Quote by Anne Rice
I Realized quotes by Eric San
#30. I realized that we were all sort of conspiring, well, not conspiring against each other, but all this cloak and dagger stuff and I was like; what is this? #Quote by Eric San
I Realized quotes by Stephenie Meyer
#31. Never before had I recognized the ring of majesty that was in Billy Black's voice, though I realized now that this authority had always been there. #Quote by Stephenie Meyer
I Realized quotes by Danny Wallace
#32. Hello?' said the taxi driver, and I realized that it's all very well having an internal monologue, but it does tend to leave the other person a bit stranded, conversationally. #Quote by Danny Wallace
I Realized quotes by Midge Ure
#33. At the beginning of this album I discovered the computer and had great fun playing with the thing. And I realized that, not being a good keyboard player, I could write things in very small sections, give them a certain feel and mess about with bends on the keyboard. #Quote by Midge Ure
I Realized quotes by DJ Shadow
#34. I realized that people don't quite understand what I do when I was the new kid on the block and a lot of Hollywood was offering me fairly cheesy projects. #Quote by DJ Shadow
I Realized quotes by Elizabeth Klehfoth
#35. With everything that had happened with my mother, I realized how important the stories that we tell about one another are. The stories we tell can change the way we see one another, can even change the way we see the world. I wanted to tell those stories; I needed to tell them. #Quote by Elizabeth Klehfoth
I Realized quotes by Lois Lowry
#36. I've always been interested in medicine and was pleased when my brother became a doctor. But after thinking seriously about that field, I realized that what intrigued me was not the science, not the chemistry or biology of medicine, but the narrative - the story of each patient, each illness. #Quote by Lois Lowry
I Realized quotes by Natsume Sōseki
#37. I realized that it was not Ko-san, now safely ditched for ever, but Ko-san's mother who stood in need of pity and consideration. She must still live on in this hard unpitying world, but he, once he had jumped [in battle], had jumped beyond such things. The case could well have been different, had he never jumped; but he did jump; and that, as they say, is that. Whether this world's weather turns out fine or cloudy no more worries him; but it matters to his mother. It rains, so she sits alone indoors thinking about Ko-san. And now it's fine, so she potters out and meets a friend of Ko-san's. She hangs out the national flag to welcome the returned soliders, but her joy is made querulous with wishing that Ko-san were alive. At the public bath-house, some young girl of marriageable age helps her to carry a bucket of hot water: but her pleasure from that kindness is soured as she thinks if only I had a daughter-in-law like this girl. To live under such conditions is to live in agonies. Had she lost one out of many children, there would be consolation and comfort in the mere fact of the survivors. But when loss halves a family of just one parent and one child, the damage is as irreparable as when a gourd is broken clean across its middle. There's nothing left to hang on to. Like the sergeant's mother, she too had waited for her son's return, counting on shriveled fingers the passing of the days and nights before that special day when she would be able once more to hang on him. But #Quote by Natsume Sōseki
I Realized quotes by Beyonce Knowles
#38. I remember being in Japan when Destiny's Child put out 'Independent Women,' and women there were saying how proud they were to have their own jobs, their own independent thinking, their own goals. It made me feel so good, and I realized that one of my responsibilities was to inspire women in a deeper way. #Quote by Beyonce Knowles
I Realized quotes by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
#39. I realized that I was African when I came to the United States. Whenever Africa came up in my college classes, everyone turned to me. It didn't matter whether the subject was Namibia or Egypt; I was expected to know, to explain. #Quote by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
I Realized quotes by Kim Swift
#40. The drawings in 'Portal' were actually me scribbling that stuff ... I had a funny moment when I realized that someone gotten 'The cake is a lie' tattooed on themselves. It was really interesting to see my handwriting tattooed on another human being. That ... that's odd. #Quote by Kim Swift
I Realized quotes by Elizabeth Hand
#41. I read '1984' at a precocious age, like 8, and when I did the math, I realized that Julia, Winston Smith's lover, was born the same year I was, 1957. I read that book over and over again with the 1960s as a backdrop: anti-war and anti-bomb protests and this general pervasive sense of doom. #Quote by Elizabeth Hand
I Realized quotes by Marianne Escobar
#42. MOMENTS

I saw you first
You looked exactly
The same as before
Tall and awkward and shy
I walked towards you
My hands clammy
I felt cold inside
My insides were shaking
Cant run
This is it.

U saw me
Your face brightened
A smile painted on your face
I missed it
Your smile
It brought back the past

You walked
I walked
Nearer
It feels like in the
Movies
Two people
A boy and a girl
Meeting halfway
Hoping for a happy
Ever after

I stopped
Right before I reached you
I realized
This isn't like the movies
I turned
I told myself
Don't smile

You reached me
Close
So close
I felt the urge
To touch you
Hug you
And maybe
Kiss you

There weren't Hellos
Only silent prayers
Smiling
You reached for my hand
Giving me something
You knew I love

It was awkward
You standing there
Me standing there
So close
Too close
Yet so far

I looked up to you
I tried to ask myself
Are you for real?
You smiled wider
Shy but happy

You left as fast
As you came back
It was for a second
I hated time
I wished it was
A little bit longer

With that,
I knew
I still want you. #Quote by Marianne Escobar
I Realized quotes by Utada Hikaru
#43. And it was then that I realized wow, I'm able to write lyrics and sing and stuff like that. #Quote by Utada Hikaru
I Realized quotes by Greg Mortenson
#44. Down there in the dark was the most technologically sophisticated navy strike force in the world, launching fighters and cruise missiles into Afghanistan ... I had to admit that what the Taliban was doing was brillant. Without satellites, without an air force, with even their primitive radar knocked out, they were ingenious enough to use plain old commercial flights to keep track of the fifth fleets positions. I realized that if we were counting on our military technology alone to win the war on terror, we had a lot of lessons to learn. #Quote by Greg Mortenson
I Realized quotes by Nick Vujicic
#45. I found happiness when I realized that as imperfect as I may be, I am the perfect Nick Vujicic. I am God's creation, designed according to His plan for me. That's not to say there isn't room for improvement. I'm always trying to be better so I can better serve Him and the world! #Quote by Nick Vujicic
I Realized quotes by Mark Wahlberg
#46. Pretty early on in making the first movie I realized that this is what I wanted to do. I felt like by that time I just found my niche, like this is what I was supposed to be doing. So I completely submerged myself into the world of watching movies, making my own movies, buying video cameras and lights. When I wasn't making a movie, I was making my own movies. When I wasn't making movies, I was watching movies. I was going back and studying film and looking back at guys that were perceived as great guys that I can identify with. It just became my life. #Quote by Mark Wahlberg
I Realized quotes by Grant Bowler
#47. I think my children have presented one of the biggest lessons so far in my life. It was only when my kids were born that I realized just how much I'd been living my life worried about what everybody thought of me and, even more strangely, worried about what I imagined other people might be thinking about me. #Quote by Grant Bowler
I Realized quotes by Henry Miller
#48. A little later, strolling about the town, I, stopped into a shop near the museum, where they sold souvenirs and post-cards. I looked over the cards leisurely; the ones I liked best were soiled and wrinkled. The man, who spoke French fluently, offered to make the cards presentable. He asked me to wait a few minutes while he ran over to the house and cleaned and ironed them. He said he would make them look like new. I was so dumbfounded that before I could say anything he had disappeared, leaving me in charge of the shop. After a few minutes his wife came in. I thought she looked strange for a Greek woman. After a few words had passed I realized that she was French and she, when she learned that I hailed from Paris, was overjoyed to speak with me. We got along beautifully until she began talking about Greece. She hated Crete, she said. It was too dry, too dusty, too hot, too bare. She missed the beautiful trees of Normandy, the gardens with the high walls, the orchards, and so on. Didn't I agree with her? I said NO, flatly. "Monsieur!" she said, rising up in her pride and dignity, as if I had slapped her in the face.

"I don't miss anything," I said, pressing the point home. "I think this is marvellous. I don't like your gardens with their high walls, I don't like your pretty little orchards and your well-cultivated-fields. I like this …" and I pointed outdobrs to the dusty road on which a sorely-laden donkey was plodding along dejectedly. "But it's not civilized," sh #Quote by Henry Miller
I Realized quotes by Lewis Black
#49. I was home alone watching George Bush speak on television. So it was just really the two of us. And as I listened to him, I realized, that one of us ... was nuts! And for the first time ever, I went, 'Wow, it's not me!' #Quote by Lewis Black
I Realized quotes by Laurie Notaro
#50. I realized that you don't try on a pair of pants, fart in them, and then put them back on the shelf, and the same rough politeness applied here, too. Plain and simple, I bled on it, I bought it. #Quote by Laurie Notaro
I Realized quotes by Gene Simmons
#51. Before I ever knew what the word Entrepeneur was, I realized in America and in the Western part of the world in general, you are given the opportunity to be whatever you want to be. And that is all anyone should ever expect from the Capitalist system. The rest is up to you.
It's up to you to educate yourself.
It's up to you to learn speaking skills and people skills.
It's up to you to try (and usually fail, but to try again) all sorts of ventures.
The rest is a combination of hard work, being at the right place ... at the right time ... with the right thing ... oh yes ... and more (never ending) hard work. #Quote by Gene Simmons
I Realized quotes by Michael Gurnow
#52. My wife simply quoted, 'For better or worse.' It was only then that I realized the phrase was not multiple-choice. #Quote by Michael Gurnow
I Realized quotes by Haruki Murakami
#53. I realized that I had never had occasion to look into her eyes like this. #Quote by Haruki Murakami
I Realized quotes by Adam Savage
#54. Growing up in New York, I was sort of shocked when I realized that my children are Californians. They are 14 years old, and I explain to them frequently that they will never realize the glory of a snow day. You wake up and the world says, 'Oops, it's too much fun to go to school, you've got to stay home and deal with the snow!' #Quote by Adam Savage
I Realized quotes by Kaye Blue
#55. as I lay there with Esther in my arms, I realized I had never felt so content. #Quote by Kaye Blue
I Realized quotes by Emily St. John Mandel
#56. You know what I've learned about money? I was trying to figure out why my life felt more or less the same in Singapore as it did in London, and that's when I realized that money is its own country. #Quote by Emily St. John Mandel
I Realized quotes by Qader Hakeem
#57. I changed to fit in her heart BUT i realized that place is already taken #Quote by Qader Hakeem
I Realized quotes by John Boyne
#58. I had never considered myself to be a dishonest person, hating the idea that I was capable of such mendacity and deceit, but the more I examined the architecture of my life, the more I realized how fraudulent were its foundations. The belief that I would spend the rest of my time on earth lying to people weighed heavily on me and at such times I gave serious consideration to taking my own life. #Quote by John Boyne
I Realized quotes by Johnny B. Truant
#59. The sun rose. Flowers bloomed. People even continued to talk to me as if I weren't a complete failure, as if they didn't know or possibly -- unthinkably -- didn't care. Life went on. I think that's when I realized that it's all bullshit. #Quote by Johnny B. Truant
I Realized quotes by George S. Clason
#60. I looked across into the uninviting distance and once again came to me the question, 'Have I the soul of a slave or the soul of a free man?' Then with clearness I realized that if I had the soul of a slave, I should give up, lie down in the desert and die, a fitting end for a runaway slave. "But if I had the soul of a free man, what then? Surely I would force my way back to Babylon, repay the people who had trusted me, bring happiness to my wife who had cared for me, bring peace and contentment to my parents. #Quote by George S. Clason
I Realized quotes by Alicia Thompson
#61. I've never told another soul about the stories I make up while I'm trying to fall asleep, and I would never even consider writing them down. They're just too personal. Nathan fell silent as well, and I realized that maybe I wasn't the only one who felt that way. I wondered how many people in the world have daydreams spinning around in their heads that they would never put into words. Probably more than you would think. #Quote by Alicia Thompson
I Realized quotes by Jodi Picoult
#62. There are legions of us, I realized. The mothers who have broken babies, and spend the rest of our lives wondering if we should have spared them. And the mothers who have let their broken babies go, who look at our children and see instead the faces of the ones they never met. #Quote by Jodi Picoult
I Realized quotes by Shay Mitchell
#63. I realized that bullying never has to do with you. It's the bully who's insecure. #Quote by Shay Mitchell
I Realized quotes by Paul Theroux
#64. There are places that I've always wanted to go. First I went to Africa, and when I was there I realized there were places in Africa I really to wanted to visit: The Congo, West Africa, Mombassa. I wanted to see the deep, dark, outlandish places. #Quote by Paul Theroux
I Realized quotes by Richelle Mead
#65. I realized then that I was taking the first approach to this "bad thing" with Lionel: I was letting it crush me. And so, I decided then and there that I would choose the nobler, unflinching approach. I would endure the pain. #Quote by Richelle Mead
I Realized quotes by Cristiane Serruya
#66. Time is too valuable, Beauty. I realized it when Nathalie died and I thought I had lost everything. We live in a countdown. We can't afford to waste a second, Sophia. #Quote by Cristiane Serruya
I Realized quotes by Jeff Lindsay
#67. The Dumpster had two lids, side by side, and one of them was open. I put both hands on the closed side - and something bolted up and out of the opening with a horrible screech and flew past my ear and I was absolutely paralyzed by sheer terror before I recognized it as a cat. It was tattered and filthy and beat-up, but it landed a few feet away and arched its back and spit at me in the full Halloween pose. I just looked back and for a second I thought the music had started up again in the club, until I realized the thumping was only my heartbeat. The cat turned and stalked away out of the alley, I leaned on the Dumpster and took a deep breath, and the Passenger stirred itself just enough to give me a serves-you-right chuckle. I #Quote by Jeff Lindsay
I Realized quotes by Paul Kalanithi
#68. Words began to feel as weightless as the breath that carried. Stepping back, I realized that I was merely confirming what I already knew: I wanted that direct experience. It was only in practicing medicine that I could pursue a serious biological philosophy. Moral speculation was puny compared to moral action. #Quote by Paul Kalanithi
I Realized quotes by Shawnee Smith
#69. I realized that Judaism required me to give up something that meant too much to me ... Bacon cheeseburgers. #Quote by Shawnee Smith
I Realized quotes by Sally Miller Gearhart
#70. I was so excited to be able to say that I was a lesbian that I would shake hands with strangers on the street and say, 'Hi! I'm Sally Gearhart and I'm a lesbian.' Once, appearing on a panel program, I began, 'I'm Sally Lesbian and I'm a gearhart!' I realized then that I had put too much of my identity into being lesbian. #Quote by Sally Miller Gearhart
I Realized quotes by Seanan McGuire
#71. Our would-be Pan shouted something else at Sloane. "Oh yeah?! Never grow up this!" she shouted back, and something black fluttered down from the rooftop. For a horrified second, I thought the boy had jumped. Then the black thing landed on one of the firemen, and I realized that the answer was slightly more mundane, if no less horrifying: Sloane had thrown her shirt off the roof. Her bra landed on the grass next to a fireman's feet a moment later. #Quote by Seanan McGuire
I Realized quotes by Elaine Pagels
#72. I got to thinking about the Book of Revelation that was written by a Jewish prophet who was also a follower of Jesus who hated the Roman Empire. I realized that the Book of Revelation could be a way to reflect on the issue of religion's relationship to politics. #Quote by Elaine Pagels
I Realized quotes by Vic Fuentes
#73. Self-harm is an addiction and it's serious whether it's 5 cuts or 100. I myself have dealt with self-harm. I was young and alone and got beat up on all the time, and I cut to ease the pain. I realized I wasn't the only one I hurt when I cut. I found out to wait it out that it gets better. I wrote music instead of going to the blade. I found out that my little brother Mike looked up to me and I wanted to change for him. So to the fans that cut or use anything to do with self-harm, promise me tonight that you will throw away all the blades and go to what you love instead of the blade. I believe you can do it. I will be here if you feel like giving in. I love you guys so so much. #Quote by Vic Fuentes
I Realized quotes by China Mieville
#74. One day I realized that I no longer dreamed of what I would do when I was whole again. My will burned to reach that point, and then suddenly was nothing. I had become nothing more than my desire to fly. I had adjusted, somehow. I had evolved in that unfamiliar region, plodding my stolid way to where the scientists and Remakers of the world congregated. The means had become the end. If I regained my wings, I would become someone new, without the desire that defined me. I saw in that spring damp as I walked endlessly north that I was not looking for fulfilment but for dissolution. I would pass my body on to a newborn, and rest. #Quote by China Mieville
I Realized quotes by Justin Halpern
#75. One day I was on a walk with him and my dog, Angus, who was sniffing around in a bush outside a neighbor's house. My dad turned to me and said, "Look at the dog's asshole."
"What? Why?"
"You can tell by the dilation of his asshole that he's going to shit soon. See. There it goes."
It was at that moment, as my dog emptied his bowels in my neighbor's yard and my dad stood there proudly watching his prediction come true, that I realized how wise, even prophetic, he really is. #Quote by Justin Halpern
I Realized quotes by Groucho Marx
#76. Years ago, I tried to top everybody, but I don't anymore. I realized it was killing conversation. When you're always trying for a topper you aren't really listening. It ruins communication #Quote by Groucho Marx
I Realized quotes by Melissa Bank
#77. I realized I was waiting for his permission to leave #Quote by Melissa Bank
I Realized quotes by Leslie Jordan
#78. When I was writing the book, I thought "Who wants to hear another story about some actor who lost his way?" But my story is a little unique in that I realized when I was 14 years old that I was different. I think a lot of gay people use drugs and alcohol to quell that fear and shame - especially people of my age. #Quote by Leslie Jordan
I Realized quotes by Marissa Mayer
#79. I really wanted to be a doctor, until my freshman year of college when I realized that while I was good at chemistry and biology, I really wasn't feeling challenged by it. #Quote by Marissa Mayer
I Realized quotes by N.R. Walker
#80. „So, seeing anyone?"
„Not for the last eighteen years," he deadpanned.
„Oh, shit," I cried, as I realized what I'd just said to a blind man. „I didn't mean seeing as in seeing, I meant seeing as in seeing someone."
Isaac laughed at me. „Oh, that makes sense," he said with a sarcastic laugh. #Quote by N.R. Walker
I Realized quotes by Sherry Thomas
#81. How did one deal with such ingrained cowardice? Then I realized that there is no such thing as courage in the absence of cowardice. Courage is also a choice: It's what happens when one refuses to give in to fear. #Quote by Sherry Thomas
I Realized quotes by Cassandra Clare
#82. I used to think being a good warrior meant not caring," he said. "About anything, myself especially. I took every risk I could. I flung myself in the path of demons. I think I gave Alec a complex about what kind of fighter he was, just because he wanted to live." Jace smiled unevenly. "And then I met you. You were a mundane. Weak. Not a fighter. Never trained. And then I saw how much you loved your mother, loved Simon, and how you'd walk into hell to save them. You did walk into that vampire hotel. Shadowhunters with a decade of experience wouldn't have tried that. Love didn't make you weak, it made you stronger than anyone I'd ever met. And I realized I was the one who was weak." –Jace pg. 531-532 #Quote by Cassandra Clare
I Realized quotes by Sara J. Henry
#83. This, I realized suddenly, was friendship. You didn't always agree, and you both might do things the other person wished you didn't, but it didn't mean things came to a grinding halt. It didn't mean you stopped being friends. You got over it, and you moved on. #Quote by Sara J. Henry
I Realized quotes by Danielle Dutton
#84. I was obsessed with the scientific instruments people were building and all the weird experiments they were doing. I did actually wind up working in some of that, but there were whole sections I'd written about these instruments that ultimately had to be abandoned when I realized that the book really was about Margaret Cavendish. I couldn't justify using all of them. #Quote by Danielle Dutton
I Realized quotes by Maggie O'Farrell
#85. It is a terrible thing to want something you cannot have. It takes you over. I couldn't think straight because of it. There was no one else, I realized, whom I could possibly tell. #Quote by Maggie O'Farrell
I Realized quotes by Julie Murphy
#86. My whole body finally connected the dots, and I realized that even if we were never together, she'd ruined me and I'd never feel that way about anyone again. #Quote by Julie Murphy
I Realized quotes by Veronica Roth
#87. And then I realized that my utopia was a terrible place, and no one should ever put me in charge of creating a perfect society. #Quote by Veronica Roth
I Realized quotes by Jeaniene Frost
#88. Aside from the obvious, Francesca, what do you want in return for supplying information?" Bones asked, getting back to the subject. "You to take me," she replied at once. "Not gonna happen!" I spat, squeezing him possessively. Three sets of widened eyes fixed on me. That's when I realized that what I had a firm grip on was no longer his hand. #Quote by Jeaniene Frost
I Realized quotes by Carson McCullers
#89. I meditated on love and reasoned it out. I realized what is wrong with us. Men fall in love for the first time. And what do they fall in love with? ... They fall in love with a woman. They start at the wrong end of love. They begin at the climax. Can you wonder it is so miserable? Do you know how men should love? A tree. A rock. A cloud. #Quote by Carson McCullers
I Realized quotes by Mark Edward
#90. I realized that I could have been in galleries much sooner. I just needed to get past the fear of rejection. I still feel nervous when I approach a new gallery, although it has become more like a job now. The first step on this long road was getting past that initial fear. #Quote by Mark Edward
I Realized quotes by Tina Turner
#91. On the third day in India, I realized people were not suffering as much as I thought. #Quote by Tina Turner
I Realized quotes by Josh Ryan Evans
#92. I realized my life was not going to be, per se, normal. #Quote by Josh Ryan Evans
I Realized quotes by Mohamedou Ould Slahi
#93. Whenever I realized that a guard was mean I pretended that I understood no English. I remember one cowboy coming to me with an ugly frown on his face: "You speak English?" he asked. "No English," I replied. "We don't like you to speak English. We want you to die slowly," he said. "No English," I kept replying. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction that his message arrived. People with hatred always have something to get off their chests, but I wasn't ready to be that drain. #Quote by Mohamedou Ould Slahi
I Realized quotes by Emma Watson
#94. The character is everything that I felt strongly against - she's superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She's all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate? But I found it really interesting, and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be. #Quote by Emma Watson
I Realized quotes by S.J. Kincaid
#95. That was when I realized for the first time that Sidonia Impyrean - meek, fearful, shy, and gentle - could be indomitable. #Quote by S.J. Kincaid
I Realized quotes by David Kuo
#96. I'd used people's stories and their lives to bolster my political arguments for changing welfare. Now, however, I was running into the people themselves, and I realized that using anyone's tragedy for political gain was cowardly. #Quote by David Kuo
I Realized quotes by Calista Lynne
#97. No woman in reality could ever possess such grace. That's how I realized it had to be a dream. Her skin was barely lighter than the dark of night and a hood was pulled so far over her head it was impossible to make out whether she had any hair. The whites of her eyes stood out greatly in contrast to her skin, matching the intense purity of the lace parasol hanging over her right arm. Her clothing was iridescent and looked almost like oil as it reflected cloudy rainbows with her movements. #Quote by Calista Lynne
I Realized quotes by Timothy Snyder
#98. After Tony [Judt]'s death, in August 2010, I toured to discuss the book we had written together, which he had entitle 'Thinking the Twentieth Century.' I realized as I traveled around the United States that its subject had been forgotten all too well. In hotel rooms, I watched Russian television toy with the traumatic American history of race, suggesting that Barack Obama had been born in Africa. It struck me as odd that the American entertainer Donald Trump picked up the theme not long thereafter. #Quote by Timothy Snyder
I Realized quotes by Katherine Reay
#99. My mind drifted to my last birthday. I had concealed the day away, hoping no one would find out. I realized as the sun flashed across the room that I had done that to escape disappointment. What if someone had known but still found it unworthy of celebration? What if, in fact, I really didn't matter outside of my cooking? Each day I justified my life through purpose. #Quote by Katherine Reay
I Realized quotes by Chandra Wilson
#100. I wanted a good relationship with my mother, and I realized I had a choice: Either I could spend all my time angry that she didn't give me the hugs I thought I needed, or I could understand that she hugs differently. It's not a spread-open-the-arms, 'come here' hug. She hugs by sheltering me from her worries. #Quote by Chandra Wilson
I Realized quotes by Catherine Gilbert Murdock
#101. I could not but wonder at the queen's unprecedented civility, until I realized with a flush of shame that it was my own improved behavior that motivated hers. So it is that we in life determine our own treatment. #Quote by Catherine Gilbert Murdock
I Realized quotes by Michael Newdow
#102. One day I was just looking at the coins is what brought this up. I saw "In God We Trust" on my coins. I said, "I don't trust in God," what is this? And I recalled there was something in the Constitution that said you're not allowed to do that and so I did some research. And as soon as I did the research, I realized the law seemed to be on my side and I filed the suit. It's a cool thing to do. Everyone should try it. #Quote by Michael Newdow
I Realized quotes by Natsume Sōseki
#103. I realized that most people actually encourage you to turn bad.they seem to think that if you don't , you will never get anywhere in the world. #Quote by Natsume Sōseki
I Realized quotes by Anne Lamott
#104. I kept asking God for help, and after a while I realized something
that Josh was not enjoying this either. He was just trying to take care of himself, and I made the radical decision to let him off the hook. #Quote by Anne Lamott
I Realized quotes by Robin Spielberg
#105. Sometime in high school it dawned on me that perhaps I was a little different...I realized music wasn't swirling in the minds of my friends drowning out conversations and making it difficult to concentrate in class. I concluded I had a some sort of mental illness and that it was best to keep it to myself. #Quote by Robin Spielberg
I Realized quotes by Jodi Picoult
#106. Fitz had listened to me speak a truth we'd taken great pains never to say out loud, plus a newer, magnificent, frightening one.
I can't do this alone, I told him.
He had looked at my belly, still flat. You aren't.
There was no denying Eric's magnetism, but that afternoon I realized that, united, Fitz and I were a force to be reckoned with as well. #Quote by Jodi Picoult
I Realized quotes by Jon Stewart
#107. Here's what I realized about the yam - it's the same colour as a Nerf ball. You may be wondering: 'Is he saying he ate a Nerf ball?' ... #Quote by Jon Stewart
I Realized quotes by Charlaine Harris
#108. I realized that I was really tired of people popping on and off of my property like it was a train station on the supernatural railroad. #Quote by Charlaine Harris
I Realized quotes by Rick Riordan
#109. When I realized I was hovering at the centre of a giant glowing purple vulture, my first thought was: Carter will never stop teasing me about this. #Quote by Rick Riordan
I Realized quotes by Meg Cabot
#110. Her name is Hope?" John asked, the corners of his mouth beginning to tug upwards.
"No." I bristled, thinking he was making fun of me. Then I realized I'd been caught. "Well, all right…so what if it is? I'm not going to name her after some depressing aspect of the Underworld like you do all your pets. I looked up the name Alastor. That was the name of one of the death horses that drew Hades's chariot. And Typhon?" I glanced at the dog, cavorting in and out of the waves, seemingly oblivious of the cold. "I can only imagine, but I'm sure it means something equally unpleasant."
"Typhon was the father of all monsters," John said. He'd given up trying to suppress his grin. "The deadliest of all the creatures in Greek mythology."
"Nice," I said sarcastically. "Well, I prefer to name my pets something that reminds me there's-"
"Hope?" His grin broadened.
"Very funny." True, I'd admitted to him that I was inexperienced. But I didn't have to prove it by acting like I was twelve. #Quote by Meg Cabot
I Realized quotes by Paul Buchheit
#111. We created the 'Like' feature in FriendFeed because I realized that people wanted an easy way to let others know that they saw what their friends posted and appreciated it. Putting in those simple little gestures is very powerful. #Quote by Paul Buchheit
I Realized quotes by Jase Robertson
#112. I found the same excitement in hunting frogs and deer for the first time. The first time I went frog-hunting, I was dumb-founded that someone could have that much fun without doing something immoral or illegal. I was the ice chest man on my first hunt, which basically meant every time my dad caught a frog I would quickly open the lid and then shut it before the frog jumped out. I realized the best part was being the catcher. I don't want to brag, but I became one of the greatest frog catchers on the planet. #Quote by Jase Robertson
I Realized quotes by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn
#113. Virginity is supposed to be something a girl gives up only when she is ready and feels comfortable, something a girl discusses at length with her friends and flip-flops over a million times in her mind before actually doing it. A guy is expected to be born ready.

But what I realized after Tommy is that they're not. They're just as scared as their girlfriends, maybe even more so because the onus is on them to be gentle, make it last, make it memorable. And most of them haven't a clue. #Quote by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn
I Realized quotes by David Wong
#114. I stared at the thing, blinking, thinking it would reveal itself to be, I don't know, a hot-water heater or something. Then I realized the monster-shaped shadow was, surprisingly, a monster. #Quote by David Wong
I Realized quotes by Muhammad Yunus
#115. I was trained to become an economist and I finished my work and I was teaching and did my PhD so I thought I did that. I prepared myself for that kind of road. But then I realized that I had not learned enough to solve the problem of poverty. So I distanced myself from the things that I learned and tried to learn anew about people. #Quote by Muhammad Yunus
I Realized quotes by Ralph Fiennes
#116. I never studied anything about film technique in school. Eventually, I realized that cinema and theater are not so different: from the gut to the heart to the head of a character is the same journey for both. #Quote by Ralph Fiennes
I Realized quotes by Amy Tan
#117. What is true about a person? Would I change in the same way the river changes color but still be the same person? ... And then I realized it was the first time I could see the power of the wind. I couldn't see the wind itself, but I could see it carried water that filled the rivers and shaped the countryside. #Quote by Amy Tan
I Realized quotes by Anne Hathaway
#118. My biggest fear is overreaching. I have been in situations where I felt swamped, and it's turned out really well; and I've had other situations where I've had to walk off the film after five minutes because I realized I was in way over my head. #Quote by Anne Hathaway
I Realized quotes by Toby Ord
#119. I realized that my money would do vastly more good for others than it could for me and decided to make a commitment to donating to the most effective charities I could find. Many people contacted me asking how they could do this as well, and so I set up giving what we can. #Quote by Toby Ord
I Realized quotes by Alan Partridge
#120. I woke with a start, at first I thought I had trumped myself awake again - it was summer so there was lots of fresh vegetables in our diet. But as I listened through the darkness I realized that something far worse was going on. My mother and father were having the row to end all rows. A sudden shot of fear ripped through my pre-pubic body. And now I did trump. The noise fizzled out of my back passage like a child calling for help. That child was me. #Quote by Alan Partridge
I Realized quotes by Joe Bradley
#121. When I was younger I was very opinionated about art. And then, I realized that I kind of recognized this pattern where the things that I was vehemently of pissed off about, I would end up loving them two years later. So I just tried to mellow out. Like there's art that I think is pretty silly, but it doesn't get under my skin like it used to. #Quote by Joe Bradley
I Realized quotes by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
#122. After getting dressed at warp speed, I actually managed to drive all the way to high school before I realized I'd forgotten my morning coffee. Mystery, intrigue, and naked dreams aside, that didn't bode well for my chances at making it through the morning without killing myself. Or someone else. #Quote by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I Realized quotes by Amy Lane
#123. Don't worry, due'ane," He murmured lowly...."Who's Dewey Anne." I asked him, voice gruff. He was so familiar, this Bracken, but so strange, naked next to me. I could touch
him, I realized with wonder. I could run my hands from his flank to his shoulder, and he would welcome the touch because he was mine.
You are." He whispered, and I met his eyes. "It's elfish, the feminine noun
for 'other equal half'. You are my other. My everything."
--Wounded
(Bracken and Cory) #Quote by Amy Lane
I Realized quotes by Sarah Dessen
#124. If what you're asking is how I debated whether or not to love her the answer is I didn't. Not at all. It just happened. I didn't ever question it; by the time I realized what was happening, it was already done. #Quote by Sarah Dessen
I Realized quotes by Molly McAdams
#125. Rachel," he whispered against my lips before pulling back an inch to look into my eyes, "can I have you?" A lump formed in my throat when I realized what he was asking. I'd already told him I was his, but that wasn't what this was. He knew about Daniel and the situation with Blake. One pushing, the other taking. Kash was asking. I nodded and squeezed my eyes tightly shut as I kissed him hard. Pushing #Quote by Molly McAdams
I Realized quotes by Nana Mouskouri
#126. I always try to see things with children's eyes. Are they happy? Sad? What do they need? Everywhere I went, I realized that children are society's victims ... We have a duty to speak to political leaders, to influence people to give these children a better future. #Quote by Nana Mouskouri
I Realized quotes by Henry David Thoreau
#127. I realized a school doesn't need a School Committee or Trustees or Governors or lumber or approved textbooks. All a school needs is a mind that sends and minds that receive. I shall teach my own students how to teach themselves. My own school. No buildings. Break out of the classroom prison. All I need is SKY. The Universe can be my classroom - the great vast world of the Concord countryside. #Quote by Henry David Thoreau
I Realized quotes by Louise Erdrich
#128. It didn't occur to me that my books would be widely read at all, and that enabled me to write anything I wanted to. And even once I realized that they were being read, I still wrote as if I were writing in secret. That's how one has to write anyway
in secret. #Quote by Louise Erdrich
I Realized quotes by Amy Harmon
#129. Some people might laugh or roll their eyes and accuse me of tired cliches. But there it was-hot food in an empty stomach, water on a parched throat, that first glimpse of home just around the bend, or that first bite of something you thought you'd never have the courage to try, only to realize it was the best thing you'd ever tasted. That was what Finn's kiss was like. And in that moment, I realized I was starving and had been for a long time. I was starving. Hungry for companionship, affection, connection. And strangest of all, hungry for Finn Clyde. #Quote by Amy Harmon
I Realized quotes by Christopher Castellani
#130. I realized that you have to deal with a lot of baggage when you write about your own era, that it's harder to separate what is actually compelling from what is interesting simply because it mattered to you at the time. #Quote by Christopher Castellani
I Realized quotes by Dorothy Koomson
#131. I could grow to like this man, I realized. I could grow to like him a lot. #Quote by Dorothy Koomson
I Realized quotes by Jarod Kintz
#132. I was once in a battle trying to fight my way out when I realized it's better to sneak out. #Quote by Jarod Kintz
I Realized quotes by Alice Walker
#133. I realized I was a country person - I'm just not used to small spaces. #Quote by Alice Walker
I Realized quotes by Fran Lebowitz
#134. Whenever someone accuses someone of being a racist - which is rare, you have to admit, considering how much racism there is - there is an incredible outrage. I realized that we live in an environment that it seems to be worse to call someone a racist than to be one. #Quote by Fran Lebowitz
I Realized quotes by Laurie Halse Anderson
#135. (From the Q&A with the author at the end of the book.)
Have any readers ever asked questions that shocked you?
I have gotten one question repeatedly from young men. These are guys who liked the book, but they are honestly confused. They ask me why Melinda was so upset about being raped.

The first dozen times I heard this, I was horrified. But I heard it over and over again. I realized that many young men are not being taught the impact that sexual assault has on a woman. They are inundated by sexual imagery in the media, and often come to the (incorrect) conclusion that having sex is not a big deal. This, no doubt, is why the number of sexual assaults is so high.

I am also shocked by adults who feel that rape is an inappropriate topic to discuss with teenagers. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 44 percent of rape victims are under the age of 18 and 46 percent of those victims are between the ages of 12-15. It makes adults uncomfortable to acknowledge this, but our inability to speak clearly and openly about sexual issues endangers our children. It is immoral not to discuss this with them. #Quote by Laurie Halse Anderson
I Realized quotes by Dave Mustaine
#136. Finally, I found what seemed at the time to be a lid of some sort. Presuming it was a toilet seat (but not really caring one way or the other) I lifted it up, then dropped my shorts and began to piss. Ahhh ... success. Then I stumbled back to bed and passed out. It wasn't until the next morning that I realized what had actually happened. I woke to the sight of Junior standing over my bed with a look of disgust on his face. Hey, man. Did you pee in my suitcase? #Quote by Dave Mustaine
I Realized quotes by Cassandra Clare
#137. Alec pulled his knees up to his chest and looked thoughtfully at Jace. "I know," he said. "I'm not jealous. I always knew, from the first, that everyone thought you were better than me. My dad thought it. The Clave thought it. Izzy and Max looked up to you as the great warrior they wanted to be like. But the day you asked me to be your parabatai, I knew you meant that you trusted me enough to ask me to help you. You were telling me that you weren't this lone and self-sufficient warrior able to do everything alone. You needed me. So I realized that there was one person who didn't assume you were better than me. You. #Quote by Cassandra Clare
I Realized quotes by Kathleen Peacock
#138. Hoisting my brick, I aimed at the white werewolf's head and threw as hard as I could. The brick collided with the wolf's skull and then bounced to the ground. It let go of Kyle and barked out a surprised yelp just as I realized my plan didn't have a step two. #Quote by Kathleen Peacock
I Realized quotes by William Friedkin
#139. And it was only a week later that I realized a close up of Steve McQueen was worth the greatest landscape you could find. #Quote by William Friedkin
I Realized quotes by Jeffrey R. Immelt
#140. I was never afraid of failure. I realized that I was responsible for my own success and that every day offers a new beginning and I was confident in my ability to improve. #Quote by Jeffrey R. Immelt
I Realized quotes by Dave Bruno
#141. My desire to live a meaningful life was getting forestalled by the petty, day-to-day demands of all my stuff.
As I stood in my garage, I realized that it was not just that all the stuff created a mess, requiring valuable time to clean up. That was true, but that wasn't the worst of it. I realized it was not the clutter, the over accumulation of things, but rather the things themselves that were taking my attention away from what mattered in my life. Camping gear was getting my attention, not being outside. Tools were taking up my time, not using them to be creative. Toys were distracting me from the fun of playing. My things were not doing what they were meant to do: serve a greater purpose than possession alone. #Quote by Dave Bruno
I Realized quotes by Bob Uecker
#142. I had been playing for a while, and I asked Louisville Slugger to send me a dozen flame treated bats. But when I got it, I realized they had sent me a box of ashes. #Quote by Bob Uecker
I Realized quotes by Julio Cortazar
#143. I realized that searching was my symbol, the emblem of those who go out at night with nothing in mind, the motives of a destroyer of compasses. #Quote by Julio Cortazar
I Realized quotes by Kimberly Schlapman
#144. My daughter loves to cook. At first, I found myself making her be really neat and precise. Then I realized it's OK if things get all over the floor and counters and ceiling. We're making memories. #Quote by Kimberly Schlapman
I Realized quotes by John Wray
#145. My mother and I looked at each other then, full in the face, more frankly than we'd done since I was small. I realized with a jolt that I was taller than she was by at least half a foot. When on earth had that happened? The realization made me want to sit down on the stairs and cry. It seemed to signify something terrible about the world: something that couldn't - or mustn't- be put into words. And I could see, looking down into her startled, anxious face, that my mother felt exactly the same way. #Quote by John Wray
I Realized quotes by Gillian Flynn
#146. occurred! Amy was shot! But then I realized #Quote by Gillian Flynn
I Realized quotes by Karl Ove Knausgaard
#147. Suddenly I realized this was a heart I was watching. How incredibly sad. Not because the heart was beating and couldn't escape, it wasn't that. The point was that the heart should not be seen, it should be allowed to beat in secret, hidden from our sight, it was obvious, you understood that when you saw it, a little animal without eyes, it should pound and throb inside your chest unseen. #Quote by Karl Ove Knausgaard
I Realized quotes by John Kralik
#148. If the voice I'd heard in the mountains had implied that I would get all that I wanted, it seemed, at least at this juncture, that it was a promise unfulfilled. Yet, by being thankful for what I had, I realized that I had everything I needed. #Quote by John Kralik
I Realized quotes by Alice Steinbach
#149. Women, I learned, adapted.
At first..they seemed so fragile, so dependent on fathers and husbands and brothers and lovers. Gradually, though, I noticed how supple their lives were beneath the surface. Then I realized it was this flexibility that enabled them to survive ... that sooner or later, by choice or by chance, most women faced the task of adapting to a future on their own. When at my most optimistic, I thought of it as independence; in darker moods, as survival. Either way women had to do it. #Quote by Alice Steinbach
I Realized quotes by Abbi Glines
#150. I had always been told my future was on the field and I could be somebody great. I had wanted that. Until I found somebody who needed me. And I realized the only person I wanted to be great for was her. #Quote by Abbi Glines
I Realized quotes by Frank Sinatra
#151. I lived in a plenty tough neighborhood. When somebody called me a 'dirty little Guinea', there was only one thing to do-break his head. When I got older, I realized that you shouldn't do it that way. I realized that you've got to do it through education. Children are not to blame. It is the parents. How can a child know whether his playmate is an Italian, a Jew or Irish, unless the parents have discussed it in the privacy of their homes. #Quote by Frank Sinatra
I Realized quotes by Sharon Shinn
#152. She had something I could not have, and so I resented her - but I realized the fault was mine and not hers. #Quote by Sharon Shinn
I Realized quotes by Kim Chandler McDonald
#153. Being myself if the only miracle I can perform. Today I realized that's enough. #Quote by Kim Chandler McDonald
I Realized quotes by Angela Elwell Hunt
#154. Tell me," he said, leaning forward with his elbows braced on his knees, "tell me how you were able to find peace about your situation. How did you forgive the man who hurt you?"

She studied him. Apparently he'd been thinking long and hard about something that disturbed him. The corners of his mouth were tight, and his eyes slightly shiny. Had he been putting himself through this sort of stressful heart searching every night?
"I struggled, yes." She closed her hands to resist the impulse to stroke his cheek. "But when I saw Buddy sitting there, I realized he had already paid a price. And I'm not his judge-I will never be. He has to answer to God, not only for what he did to me, but for how he treated everyone. Knowing that I'm only a tiny piece of the picture-knowing that, I could smile and let it go. I don't really think about him anymore, and I don't hate him. Truthfully, I mostly feel sorry for him."
Erik hung his head. "It sounds so easy when you say it. So sensible."
"I'm not saying what worked for me will for everyone-I mean, "I'm not much of an expert."
Aren't you?" His mouth twisted in wry amusement. "Let me see-instead of being angry at that church for running me off, I need to realize they've paid a price?

I Realized quotes by Alexandra Bracken
#155. It was a good ten minutes before I realized Roman and I had been sitting in silence. I stole a look at him out of the corner of my eye, but he seemed unbothered by quiet as I was.

For the first time in a long while, I didn't feel like I had to say anything. There was no one to comfort tor convince. There was no one to charm or encourage. I disappeared into myself as I drove on, trying to find my center. I could breathe. Be still.

What I hadn't expected was how much Roman seemed to need it, too.

Some people feared silence. They did anything to fill it, talking about things that didn't matter, asking questions just to hear some kind of response. it seemed to me that a lot of people saw it as a kind of failure. Evidence that they weren't interesting enough, or that a bond wasn't strong enough. Or maybe they were just nervous about what it would reveal about themselves. #Quote by Alexandra Bracken
I Realized quotes by Isabel Allende
#156. I'm not a fan of mysteries, so to prepare for this experience of writing a mystery I started reading the most successful ones in the market in 2012 ... And I realized I cannot write that kind of book. It's too gruesome, too violent, too dark; there's no redemption there. #Quote by Isabel Allende
I Realized quotes by Jeanine Tesori
#157. I realized that all you have to do is state what you need and figure out how to get it, and be kind and help other people move forward. Check your jealousy, which is always present, and the threat of the younger generation coming forward as they must do. #Quote by Jeanine Tesori
I Realized quotes by Olivier Theyskens
#158. When I was very young, I wanted to be a girl. I was jealous that girls got to be princesses and wear skirts. It tormented me. When I was 6, I even heard that you could change your sex, and I was very intrigued until the moment I realized that if I changed into a girl, I would be an ugly girl, and this is the last thing I wanted to be. #Quote by Olivier Theyskens
I Realized quotes by Leigh Bardugo

I Realized quotes by Katie Holmes
#161. I used to get so worried that if a scene didn't go a certain way, then it was horrible. But then I realized that it was better to give the director options in the editing room than just being locked into how it's supposed to be. #Quote by Katie Holmes
I Realized quotes by Candis Cayne
#162. I came out to my parents as gay, and then I realized, you know, four or five years later, that I wasn't really happy, no relationships were working, and there was something missing in my life, and you know, I was doing drag, performing and stuff, and I realized through that arc that I was much happier doing that. #Quote by Candis Cayne

I Realized quotes by Maajid Nawaz
#166. As he continued to talk to me, I realized one of the fundamental points about Islamism that so many people fail to understand. The way Osman was speaking wasn't in the orthodox, religious way of the imam with a stick; he was talking about politics, about events that were happening now. That's crucial to understanding what Islamism is all about: it isn't a religious movement with political consequences, it is a political movement with religious consequences. #Quote by Maajid Nawaz
I Realized quotes by Alan Alda
#167. Until I was twenty I was sure there was a being who could see everything I did and who didn't like most of it. He seemed to care about minute aspects of my life, like on what day of the week I ate a piece of meat. And yet, he let earthquakes and mudslides take out whole communities, apparently ignoring the saints among them who ate their meat on the assigned days. Eventually, I realized that I didn't believe there was such a being. It didn't seem reasonable. And I assumed that I was an atheist.

As I understood the word, it meant that I was someone who didn't believe in a God; I was without a God. I didn't broadcast this in public because I noticed that people who do believe in a god get upset to hear that others don't. (Why this is so is one of the most pressing of human questions, and I wish a few of the bright people in this conversation would try to answer it through research.)

But, slowly I realized that in the popular mind the word atheist was coming to mean something more - a statement that there couldn't be a God. God was, in this formulation, not possible, and this was something that could be proved. But I had been changed by eleven years of interviewing six or seven hundred scientists around the world on the television program Scientific American Frontiers. And that change was reflected in how I would now identify myself.

The most striking thing about the scientists I met was their complete dedication to evidence. It reminded me of th #Quote by Alan Alda
I Realized quotes by Elise Kova
#168. Then I realized I just wanted you around. My days were better when they involved you. I enjoyed your thoughts. It was thrilling to see you discover magic. You had a mad hopefulness about sorcery that I have not felt in almost a decade. I started finding excuses to take you away, not because you needed my teaching but because, because I wanted to see you. I looked forward to our meetings and - like that, Vhalla - your opinion mattered to the crown prince of the Empire. You mattered for who you were, not for your magic and what some dusty texts say Windwalkers may or may not be able to do. #Quote by Elise Kova

I Realized quotes by Jorge Luis Borges
#170. One day or one night - between my days and nights, what difference can there be? - I dreamed that there was a grain of sand on the floor of my cell. Unconcerned, I went back to sleep; I dreamed that I woke up and there were two grains of sand. Again I slept; I dreamed that now there were three. Thus the grains of sand multiplied, little by little, until they filled the cell and I was dying beneath that hemisphere of sand. I realized that I was dreaming; with a vast effort I woke myself. But waking up was useless - I was suffocated by the countless sand. Someone said to me:

You have wakened not out of sleep, but into a prior dream, and that dream lies within another, and so on, to infinity, which is the number of the grains of sand. The path that you are to take is endless, and you will die before you have truly awakened.

I felt lost. The sand crushed my mouth, but I cried out: I cannot be killed by sand that I dream - nor is there any such thing as a dream within a dream.

I Realized quotes by John Scalzi
#171. I was getting away with something in my own way. But then I get here and saw you, brain-dead and with tubes coming out of every part of your body. And I realized I wasn't getting away with anything. Just like you didn't get away with anything. You were just born, fucked around for a while, got hit by a car and died, and that's your whole life story right there. You don't win by getting through all you life not having done anything. #Quote by John Scalzi

I Realized quotes by Gayle Forman
#173. It's okay,' he tells me. 'If you want to go. Everyone wants you to stay. I want you to stay more than I've ever wanted anything in my life.' His voice cracks with emotion. He stops, clears his throat, takes a breath, and continues. 'But that's what I want and I could see why it might not be what you want. So I just wanted to tell you that I understand if you go. It's okay if you have to leave us. It's okay if you want to stop fighting.'

For the first time since I realized that Teddy was gone, too, I feel something unclench. I feel myself breathe. I know that Gramps can't be that late-inning pinch hitter I'd hoped for. He won't unplug my breathing tube or overdoes me with morphine or anything like that. But this is the first time today that anyone has acknowledged what I have lost. I know that the social worker warned Gran and Gramps not to upset me, but Gramps's recognition, and the permission he just offered me--it feels like a gift.

Gramps doesn't leave me. He slumps back into the chair. It's quiet now. So quiet you can almost hear other people's dreams. So quiet that you can almost hear me tell Gramps, 'Thank you. #Quote by Gayle Forman

I Realized quotes by Sherwood Smith
#176. Until that morning most of the journey had been made in silence, our stops to eat and change horses--again, Renselaeus beneficence: all we had to do was mention their name, and the horses were instantly available--too brief for much converse. When we did stop, we were both too tired to talk. But that day the roads were too muddy for fast travel, and Branaric suddenly turned to me and asked for my story, so I gave him a detailed description of my adventures.
I had just reached the episode at the fountain with Debegri, and was grinning at the fluency and point of Bran's curses, when we became aware of horses behind us.
Traffic had been nonexistent all day, which we had expected. No traders had been permitted to go up into Tlanth, well away from Vesingrui, the fortress that the Renselaeus forces supposedly held, so we didn't expect any military traffic, either.
"Sounds like at least one riding," I said, remembering that pattern well. Danger prickled along my nerves, and I wished I had a weapon.
"Something must have happened." Bran sounded unconcerned. "They must need to tell us--"
"Who? What?"
Bran shrugged. "Escort. Shevraeth sent it along to keep us safe. Knew you would refuse, so they've been behind us the whole way."
I was peering through the trees, anger and apprehension warring inside me. Annoyed as I was to be thus circumvented--and to have my reactions so accurately predicted--I realized I'd be well satisfied to find out that the approa #Quote by Sherwood Smith

I Realized quotes by Linda Eder
#179. I ultimately realized we had gotten together for the music. It was such a huge thing in our lives. We were at the same age, same place in our careers, and we had great fun. But when I became a mother and was at home, I realized that in reality we had very little else in common. I wasn't happy, wasn't getting what I needed. It's tough to realize that. But while a big change can be painful, it also was for the best. I'm happier now than I've ever been. #Quote by Linda Eder

I Realized quotes by Penny Reid
#182. The dreams were the troubling kind where I thought the action and events were genuine while asleep; upon waking and in retrospect I realized they were obviously completely implausible. The one I remembered most intensely upon waking was about losing my teeth. The fragments of bone continually fell out of my mouth every time I opened it to speak; and they ran away- though they had no legs- which, in the dream, sent me into a panic.
There is nothing quite like watching one's own legless teeth running away. #Quote by Penny Reid

I Realized quotes by Gail Honeyman
#184. I knew that people weren't supposed to exist as I did, work and vodka and sleep in a constant, static cycle in which I spun around on myself, into myself, silent and alone. Going nowhere. On some level I realized that this was wrong. I'd lifted my head up just high enough to see that, and, desperate to change, I'd clutched at a random straw, let myself get carried away, imagining some sort of ... future. #Quote by Gail Honeyman

Eli said nothing for a moment. "You called me 'sweetheart.'"
"I did?"
"Did you mean it? Cause here's the thing, sugar. You turned my world upside down. I've never been so scared in my life as when I realized Scarlett Group had taken you. I was afraid I wouldn't have the chance to tell you how much I love you."
"Oh, Eli." Tears filled her eyes. Her handsome Navy SEAL loved her enough that he was laying his heart on the line without having a clue she felt the same way about him.. An act of courage from the man staring at her with a wary gaze.
"We haven't known each other long. If it's too soon for you to know how you feel about me, I'll wait. Just know you own my heart, Brenna. I want to marry you and someday watch you rock my children."
She laid her hand over his mouth, stemming the tidal wave of words. "Eli, you don't have to wait."
"I don't?"
"I'm a romance writer, my love. Happy endings are my stock in trade. Without you in my life, I wouldn't have a happy ending because I love you, too, Eli. And, yes, I will marry you." "Soon?"

I Realized quotes by Colleen Houck
#190. He pulled me toward him so that I was resting on my side. I coughed up some more water. He took off his wet shirt and folded it. Then he gently lifted me and placed it under my sore head, which hurt too much to appreciate his…bronzed…sculpted…muscular…bare chest.
Well I guess I must be okay if I can appreciate the view, I thought. Sheesh, I'd have to be dead not to appreciate it.
I winced as Ren's hand brushed against my head, shaking me from my reverie.
"You've got a major bump here."
I reached up to feel the giant lump on the back of my skull. I gingerly touched it and recalled the source of my headache. I must have lost consciousness when the rock hit me. Ren saved my life. Again.
I looked up at him. He was kneeling next to me with a look of desperation on his face, and his body was shaking. I realized that he must have changed to a man, dragged me out of the pool, and then remained by my side until I woke up. Who knows how long I've been laying here unconscious.
"Ren, you're in pain. You've been in this form too long today."
He shook his head in denial, but I saw him grit his teeth.
I pressed my hand on his arm. "I'll be okay. It's just a bump on the head. Don't worry about me. I'm sure Mr. Kadam has some aspirin tucked away in the backpack. I'll just take that and lie down to rest for a while. I'll be alright."

#191. Lance Reddick: I was alone with David, and we just got to talking. I asked him something. I remember him saying organizations can't be reformed, but people can. I rememeber being struck by it when he said it, because I knew that I had never thought of it that way, and I knew that there was something profound in the insight. Then, over time, particularly when I watched the show, I realized how we see both on the criminal side and on the police side, you see people struggling to live up to the codes of the institutions that they're a part of and seeing how it chips away at their humanity. #Quote by Jonathan Abrams
I Realized quotes by Richard P. Feynman
#192. I suddenly remembered that Murray Gell-Mann and I were supposed to give talks at that conference on the present situation of high-energy physics. My talk was set for the plenary session, so I asked the guide, "Sir, where would the talks for the plenary session of the conference be?"

"Back in that room that we just came through."

"Oh!" I said in delight. "Then I'm gonna give a speech in that room!"

The guide looked down at my dirty pants and my sloppy shirt. I realized how dumb that remark must have sounded to him, but it was genuine surprise and delight on my part.

We went along a little bit farther, and the guide said, "This is a lounge for the various delegates, where they often hold informal discussions." They were some small, square windows in the doors to the lounge that you could look through, so people looked in. There were a few men sitting there talking.

I looked through the windows and saw Igor Tamm, a physicist from Russia that I know. "Oh!" I said. "I know that guy!" and I started through the door.

The guide screamed, "No, no! Don't go in there!" By this time he was sure he had a maniac on his hands, but he couldn't chase me because he wasn't allowed to go through the door himself! #Quote by Richard P. Feynman
I Realized quotes by Travis Mathews
#193. I initially wanted to tell 'Oscillate Wildly' story because it wasn't one I had heard or seen before. The invisibility piece resonated most. Somewhere over the past couple of years I realized that I've essentially been making movies for my teenage self who struggled with isolation and my own brand of invisibility living in rural Ohio. #Quote by Travis Mathews
I Realized quotes by Jodi Meadows
#194. Breathing in the scent of his hair, I realized I'd needed him my whole life, before we even met. First, his music and the way he taught me through books and recordings. Then, he saved my life and refused to abandon me no matter how much I deserved it. #Quote by Jodi Meadows

I Realized quotes by Ed Catmull
#196. This was a revelation to me: The good stuff was hiding the bad stuff. I realized that this was something I needed to look out for: When downsides coexist with upsides, as they often do, people are reluctant to explore what's bugging them, for fear of being labeled complainers. I also realized that this kind of thing, if left unaddressed, could fester and destroy Pixar. For me, this discovery was bracing. Being on the lookout for problems, I realized, was not the same as seeing problems. This would be the idea - the challenge - around which I would build my new sense of purpose. #Quote by Ed Catmull
I Realized quotes by Rob Sheffield
#197. For two weeks, I lay awake at night and said Hail Marys over and over to stop my heart from beating too fast. I suddenly realized how much being a husband was about fear: fear of not being able to keep somebody safe, of not being able to protect somebody from all the bad stuff you want to protect them from. Knowing they have more tears in them than you will be able to keep them from crying. I realized that Renee had seen me fail, and that she was the person I was going to be failing in front for the rest of my life. It was just a little failure, but it promised bigger failures to come. Additional ones, anyway. But that's who your wife is, the person you fail in front of. Love it so confusing; there's no peace of mind. #Quote by Rob Sheffield

#200. You can't say 'Oh my stars.' 'Oh my stars' is not a thing, and it makes no sense. The words were out and gone before I realized what was happening. #206. True happiness is realized beyond circumstance. It is universal relationship, not centered or devoted or residing on other individual relationships we have. I Realized quotes by Marilynne Robinson
#207. We are supposed to believe [capitalist ideology] was the champion of freedom and prosperity in the epic struggle called the Cold War. If there was such a champion, might it not have been freedom itself, as realized in the institutional forms of democracy? This is not how the story has been told. We are t believe it was an economic system, capitalism, that arrayed its forces against its opposite, communism, and rescued all we hold dear. Yet in the new era ... [capitalism] has shown itself very ready to devour what we hold dear, if the list can be taken to include culture, education, the environment, and the sciences, as well as the peace and well-being of our fellow citizens. #Quote by Marilynne Robinson
I Realized quotes by James Morcan
#208. Young people today seem to be coming around to the idea it really doesn't matter which politician or political party you vote for; and they're catching on that it doesn't even matter if you don't vote because they have realized modern elections are just a way for the 1% to appease the 99% – a way to keep the masses in line by making them believe they've had their say, thereby perpetuating the lie that democracy continues. #Quote by James Morcan

I Realized quotes by Scott Lynch

I Realized quotes by Vernon Johnson
#212. Surely--we argue--it is safer to make, at the Morning Offering, a virtual intention covering all the day, and then carry on with practical common sense.
This sounds excellent in theory, but too often it breaks down in practice and merely ends in the making of the Morning Offering, while we slip through the day on a purely natural plane till we arrive at our prayers in the evening; and it is precisely our habit of thus meeting the smallest actions of our daily life on the natural plane which makes them more than we can cope with. Divorced from their true purpose, that of leading us out of ourselves to God and to our fellow-men, they imprison us within ourselves and make us give way to self-pity and discontent.
On the other hand, if we do everything to please Our Lord we shall find ourselves becoming more and more alert to help others and far more conscious of the endless little opportunities around us, the value of which we had never realized before. #Quote by Vernon Johnson

I Realized quotes by Stephen Pressfield
#216. If you find yourself criticizing other people, you're probably doing it out of Resistance. When we see others beginning to live their authentic selves, it drives us crazy if we have not lived out our own.
Individuals who are realized in their own lives almost never criticize others. if they speak at all, it is to offer encouragement. Watch yourself. Of all the manifestations of Resistance, most only harm ourselves. Criticism and cruelty harm others as well. #Quote by Stephen Pressfield

I Realized quotes by Tracy Winegar
#222. There was a moment of hesitation in which Joe looked into her eyes, and she looked back without flinching. Many a time, he had been at the same game with her, and she had always crumbled, bowing to his will. Now, he must have realized he was looking into the eyes of a stranger. She was someone he could not recognize, a foreigner inhabiting the body of that old Clairey, the girl he had abused, intimidated, and broken. Clairey decided then and there she would no longer cower before him. It was almost as if she were daring him to strike her in their unspoken exchange. #Quote by Tracy Winegar
I Realized quotes by Ray Bradbury
#223. He realized that all men were like this; that each person was to himself one alone. One oneness, a unit in a society, but always afraid. Like here, standing. If he should scream, if he should holler for help, would it matter?
Blackness could come swiftly, swallowing; in one titanically freezing moment all would be concluded. Long before dawn, long before police with flashlights might probe the dark, disturbed pathway, long before men with trembling brains could rustle down the pebbles
to his help. Even if they were within five hundred yards of him now, and help certainly was, in three seconds a dark tide could rise to take all ten years from him and - The essential impact of life's loneliness crushed his beginning-to-tremble body. Mother was alone, too. She could not look to the sanctity of marriage, the protection of her family's love, she could not look to the United States Constitution or the City Police, she could not look anywhere, in this very instant, save into her heart, and there she would find nothing but uncontrollable repugnance and a will to fear. In this instant it was an individual problem seeking an individual solution. He must accept being alone and work on from there. #Quote by Ray Bradbury

"It takes more than bravery to bind a man to the Horn." Arthur Hawkwing`s voice was deep and carrying, a voice used to giving commands.
"Or a woman," Birgitte said sharply.
"Or a woman," Hawkwing agreed. "Only a few are bound to the Wheel, spun out again and again to work the will of the Wheel in the Pattern of the Ages. You could tell him, Lews Therin, could you but remember when you wore flesh. #Quote by Robert Jordan
I Realized quotes by Alice Alfonsi
#230. Jesse realized what he was doing. The man was trying to make her angry enough to give him what he wanted in the scene, mad enough to be completely submissive. "You want me to just lie there and like it? Just beg for it? gimme, gimme, come on, baby, fuck me, stick me, kill me, make me come, make me bleed, fuck me like there's no tomorrow, take it away from me, honey, fuck my mind, fuck me to death, fuck me dead! Is that what you want?"
